New Infamous SS Gameplay footage

Oh no. This didn't look fun at all.

Maybe the area, or the player or whatever, but it was just a mindless run and blast.

Prototype did this thing better I feel.

I just want to feel like a hero. Traversal looks wicked fun already and if they give me neon flash powers, that's really all I need.

The combat has never been good or diverse in the Infamous games. Guys stand around to get blasted repeatedly by your standard 3rd person shooting power and the only (annoying) change is late in the game you're swarmed with baddies to repetitively shoot over and over again. I was hoping this would change with this game but it seems like they're trying to stick to the relatively poor formula of the other 2 too closely.

It was one of the better open world games , not as good as prototype but the second best thing.
The only problem with infamous 1-2 was that it took forever to get the fun powers that made traversal good instead of terrible, first half of the first game was such a chore

Infamous has ten times better combat than batman at least ...

OT

they're still using that horrible dof to hide everything at medium distance, like in the previous 2 games
poor LOD and draw distance in an open world game sucks (the wall of dof is the same as the wall of fog in psx games), watchdogs suffers from it too...

looks pretty up close though, that taking an airco vent up to a roof is a good change, getting higher up in infamous always sucked horribly (that awful assassin's creed climbing)

I never understand why any company would release a gameplay trailer played by an average/bad player. I feel like the repetitive aspect of the video is mainly due to an uninspired or unskilled player.

A few comments on youtube are : "After playing Infamous 1 and 2, I know for a fact that after watching this video, the player is not very good and the combat will have more depth than what is shown."

Also, I might have overlooked the HUD, is there a life bar? (I've never played any Infamous).

don't think this is an official trailer. Like few people mentioned it's most probably b-roll footage leaked by the uploader

Meh. Action still screams "we can't push past the T-rating". No impact at all. I wish Sony didn't feel like they had to tone down violent games to get a T-rating. Their lineup would be much stronger for it, IMO.

i must be blind or something but this doesn't look impressive or next-gen at all to me :(

the character models, animations, trees, cars, overall world geometry and detail etc... all look bland and last-gen to me. i hope it's just the quality of the youtube video, but ehh..

destructability and some of those particle effects are nice though i guess, but don't make up for what the visuals lack in other areas IMO. not even close.

I'm sorry to have to break this to you but You are blind.

It looks sweet.

I hope I like this. Tried to get into both previous infamous and just couldn't.

Maybe second son will change that.

Can't wait, as a PC gamer this is one of the reasons I still end up buying consoles. Love the inFamous games. Though the guy in the video doesn't seem like he has played them before.

Looked like awesome infamous with an amazing leap in graphics. I'm not watching any more than that.

It looked like he was playing on easy too.

Am I the only one who thinks this would be helped TREMENDOUSLY by having a pulsing electronic score in the background that revs up when you get into the action? It just seems so lifeless right now

It's Seattle mang. Days without cloudy skies are the abnormality. Especially since he seems to be dressed more in Winter clothes, so the sunny days are even more infrequent during that time.

Seattle is definitely foggy as fuck, but it doesn't translate well to making stuff look very good. It's probably standing out more because I literally just watched this beforehand.

Looks stunning visually, not too sure about the gameplay. Seems a lot like previous entries and I honestly felt more than a little burnt out on that type of gameplay towards the end of I2...

Guy playing is just spamming the shit outta that attack, I'm sure it can be played with much more variation.

Both previous games in the series had amazing scores, some of the best of this generation. They'll nail the score, don't worry.

Yep, the whole game's going to centred around that one ability and that one location. It's going to be so dull.

The sound is still bad.

Why is the sound still bad?
There is only music on the last part, everything else just sounds SO empty.

The sound was what made me stop playing INFAMOUS 2 :( I really hope they figure it out before this is out...

Everything else looked really good. Although that last enemy was very very generic.

Looks amazing yes. The compressed youtube video surely doesn't do it justice. Once we see it on your TVs - then we'll get to see how it really shines.
