EGM score
Metal Gear Solid IV (PS3): A [Jeremy Parish] A- [Crispin Boyer] B+ [Milkman]
Pros: refined gameplay, interesting story
Cons: more cutscenes than gameplay!

they say NG2 got gotm

dunno if it's legit
:lol I absolutely LOVED the really long cutscenes in MGS2+3. If that's the only complaint they could possibly have... holy shit this game is gonna be incredible.

Wait... does "gotm" mean "game of the month"?

Doesn't NG2 and MGS4 come out in the same month?

This info cannot be legit...

You guys haven't played the game or even so much as read the review before you start screaming bias. Smack a hot dog between those buns because you're all a bunch of stale predictable defenders of the crown.

EGM.

They didn't even let the only PS3 fan on the staff to review the game :lol .
Shane? He couldn't review it since he took part journalist event where they gave input on a pre-release version of the game.

I wonder who has the 1up review.

It's always the first reviewer from the three EGM scores. Assuming the order listed above is the same as it appears in the magazine, then Jeremy will be doing the 1up review.

Don't they just pick one of the reviewers that did the magazine review to do it? Probably Milkman then.
Main reviewer with the most space always comes first, and its the one that gets posted on 1up.com. So if they're listed in order then it'll be Jeremy Parish's.

Edit: Crap, beaten.

I played MGO, and that's enough to know that gameplay by itself is AAA material. Anyway, the review is fake.

So, people are nitpicking on the graphics in this game ... you guys seriously think GTA4 looks better? Seriously? Really?

Okay, I'm out before somebody calls me a bigot...

For someone who doesn't know much about EGM staff, is Milkman anti-PS3, or just anti-MGS?

Honestly, I'm buying both games day 1, but I can't see II beating out 4.

Pretty much anti-PS3. Or atleast comes across that way.

Not bad considering it's a 50 fucking GB game.

lol, I'm not trying to troll the game, if that thought is crossing your mind. I do have a history here on GAF :lol

Just was curious, I saw some 'display box art' and wondered if it was real or fake.

I know, but I had to put that in before some idiot cried about an install XD

Heh, I was going to write a posting asking something fishy about that cutscene comment as that wasn't really true of the previous MGS games especially MGS3, the cutscenes tend to clock around 3 1/2 hours for the games give or take.

And according to the OPM UK reviewer he clocked a total of 29 hours say said maybe 1/3 cutscenes, that suggested something like 19-20 hours of pure gameplay.

Well now, I guess it's nothing really.

I wasn't really bothered by the (fake) scores. I mean... I weathered the 8.7 Gamespot dropped on the greatest game of all time, MGS3.... so I think I'll be able to cope!

Yeah, seeing both MGS1 and MGS3 score in the 8's alongside something like Mark Ecko's Getting Up at Gamespot made me not give too much of damn at Gamespot regarding Metal Gear.
