A lot of hype died because of story paranoia but this trailer but me in the conductors seat on the hype train.
It looked a lot better then I expected.

I was on the gonna buy train from the outset, but I'm glad to see it might have actually paid off.:lol

Seems like the game falls to pieces graphically when the camera changes perspectives.

Congrats, you found the one scene which doesnt look amazing in a 2 minute gameplay trailer...

The game looks amazing - haters should back off.

Animation, effects, monster design, slow-downs and accelerations, graphics and particle effects all look great.

The obscure point remains the controls.

I also noticed that. The point is that Team Ninja should have done only a 2D game, without including any First Person vision. This also worries me.

Really? Everything so far indicates the first-person stuff is great.

WTF. How is possible to keep the effect for so long?

It's not overly difficult. Just need to be precise with your thumbs because towards the end there is little room to manouevere to maintain the shinespark.

I can't let myself beat Fusion anymore without doing it.

Give it a try sometime. :)

Bah. I could be wrong, but this 3D perspective looks so copy-paste from Retro without any major scope. A 2D would have been perfect alone, but...we'll see.

I can't understand some of the concerns - my main one is that being forced into a standstill (as opposed to being able to turn) in first-person will make combat against faster enemies difficult if you're forced to go into first-person. I'm hopeful this will be balanced in the retail version.

But really, I think it's a great addition. Adds some variety to gameplay and allows you to look at the environments from another perspective and see things you normally would've missed.

First time a trailer for the game has really impressed me. Lots of good stuff; the flow of the combat is amazing.

I told myself I'd go on a media blackout, but when I saw this thread I couldn't resist :lol Don't regret it though, this game looks awesome! Now I can't wait until September 3rd :lol

But you CAN turn. You have to hold B though, which is kinda odd.

I've kept myself to a media blackout, so I guess I missed this. I knew you could turn but I thought it was only slightly? Good to hear though if you can turn full circle.

I wish I could play this. :(

Two weeks mate!

The other trailers had me feeling a bit "meh" towards it, but that looks fucking awesome. As in, could be the best Metroid game since Super.

I want. Now. Thanks.

That is an amazing trailer. Still not sure I'm going to buy it (and definitely not day one), but dang they're doing an awesome promotion job.

I just fear the expectations are too high.

After watching the trailer 10 times, I'm loving the music thus far. This guy has a wicked harmonic vocabulary, I love how the harmony changes through out the trailer but the rhythm section and phrasing stays the same. I'm very impressed so far, I hope he delivers through out the entire game.

Still not feeling it. Reminds me of post Genesis Sonic, where developers thought gamers loved Sonic games for automated speed.

I think had this game been made strictly 2D with manual aim, I'd be 10x more excited. The story focus, 1st person view, auto-aim and x-treme action nature of these trailers...ugh.

I really, truly, hope I'm wrong about all this.

10 times? Wtf :lol

But looks great, too bad I don't have a Wii anymore or this would be day one.

They've done a great job of promoting this game the past couple of weeks. I was always going to buy it but now I'm super hyped.

Between the emphasis on story, autopilot combat while in 2d perspective, finishing moves, and shifted priorities from exploration and puzzles (yes, I realize they're still there; I just doubt they will have the focus they had in the MP games. Would love to be wrong though) to fast paced combat, I think I'm going to have to sit this one out. Shame, seeing as how I absolutely loved the Prime series. I'll keep up with impressions and reviews just in case I want to give it a whirl, but each new piece of media just makes me less and less enthusiastic for the game.

Yeah that trailer is kick ass. It has improved visually quite a bit from what I can remember of the original trailer reveal.

Giant Bomb said something that not being able to move is balanced out by it being so powerful. So I don't think there is much more they could do.

Why is everyone referring to the Third Person Perspective as 2D and First Person as 3D? That doesn't actually make any sense.

You are more or less either running left or right, or backward and forwards in the third person perspective, where in the first person perspective your aiming all around the place?
