A.) They changed the name of the series so they want to start a brand awareness campaign early.
B.) They want to try to top the 13 million COD 4 sold.

That's one outdated looking game engine. They really need to start the whole thing afresh, there's only so much tweaking and band aids you can apply to the Quake 3 engine before you start getting diminishing returns.

L4D gets away with looking like a Half-Life 2 mod. If the game looks like this and runs at 60FPS very few people will be upset.

The only time they should ever consider any teaser/trailer "gameplay" is when the footage is actually shown from first-person, not 3rd person. That shit annoys the fuck out of me.

Agreed. We all know the gameplay will be just as good or even better than 4/5. I'm hoping for more features though. I think that will make or break it for me.
