I'll buy this on the same day as Resistance but no way I'm playing it. Why oh why did they switch the date >_<.

Im SO ready for this game. The demo alone sold me 10000000%. So i have to choose between motorstorm 2 or this. Bah decisions.

Same here, I'm a huge fan of the anime (yeah yeah, whatever, fillers and stuff...) and this game is just amazing, the demo was totally amazing, i mean the graphics, the animation and especially the singleplayer which looks to be TONS of fun, never cared about the SP in ps2 naruto games but this time around, it'll all change... it seems like both an awesome SP with a great fighter ducktape'd to it :P

Yeah, I don't like the anime much, but this and LittleBigPlanet are probably the only two PS3 titles I'm getting this Fall. Resistance 2 at some point, but the demo for this was incredibly fun (single player and versus), and looked absolutely jaw dropping.

If someone asked me a year ago would I be buying a Naruto product, yet alone buying one above some amazing 1st party Sony stuff for the holidays I would most likely have laughed at them. That and the kind of comments you read in this thread are simply amazing to me. Way to go CyberConnect2.

lol, I actually found a collection of CDs I burned of old naruto episodes way back when I used to burn anime onto cds :lol, and I found that after a certain point, the Naruto eps were apparently encoded in xvid, which meant I could watch these on my PS3. I spent an entire day going through the better half of the chuunin exam, and right up to when they meet Tsunade, and I have to say, I can't wait to see how they remix and recreate several instances from the anime for the game, because from the footage that's been released, its clear that they're taking a very liberal (and cinematic) approach to retelling the pre-shippunden story. The anime, while mildly enjoyable and funny, only occasionally pushed the animation budget for some high-octane battles, and even then, it was always just a push for animation detail, not art direction.

I really wish an english-speaking journalist would ask about that side of the game's development. The direction that the game's been given from a visual perspective is something that everyone's commented on and praised, and then left in the dust to discuss the ZoE-esque 3D battle style.

Can't wait for the game's release.

I really hate this "preorder to get this skin, character, level, and stuff" thing. I don't like it one bit. Not every wants to pre-order, and wal-mart don't have preorder bonuses. Think of us country folk that can't wait on snail mail and the possibility of getting ripped off in online preorder bonuses.

Yea this stuff is stupid, just release the dlc free for everyone that buys the game.

Naruto is so lucky to have CyberConnect2 and the Ubi Naruto team covering it. Lucky fans indeed.

Rise of a Ninja and UN 3 were great games and Accel 2 looks great with a fucking huge cast. And UNS looks to flow like liquid while BB has that hard hitting impact feel of RoaN. So they should feel distinct.

What the hell is this Narutimate Accel 2??? Did this come out in the US?

Does the Gamecube Naruto game play or look ANYTHING like I've seen so far from that PS2 game or Ultimate Ninja Storm?

I don't follow Naruto at all, but if the games are as fun as the videos are making them out to be, I'll quickly become a fan.

First review of the game (EG Portugal):

http://www.eurogamer.pt/article.php?article_id=265095

8/10; 9/10 if you're a Naruto fan.

They have lots of praise for the game, lack of online affects the score a bit. Visuals are outstanding, soundtrack is not from the show, it was composed for the game but is heavily inspired by the Naruto anime and is fantastic.

Loads of minigames it seems, just like previous CC2 Naruto games. Release date can't some soon enough.

Narutimate Accel 1 + 2 are Japan-only PS2 releases. They cover the time after the Naruto series became 'Naruto Shippuuden'. Basically it's a few years later in the story, so people are older, and there are a few new characters.

IMO, the best console Naruto games are the PS2 Narutimate Hero or Ultimate Ninja series in the U.S. That's why I'm pumped for this one, it's like the true successor to them.

This one is full 3D, but the PS2 ones were more traditional 2D fighter, with 3 'layers' that you could move back and forth between.

If you're in the US, you could probably pick up Ultimate Ninja 2 or 3 for cheap.

More info: RPG mode is divided into two. Story missions and ranked ones. Story missions are flashbacks of Naruto's adventures. There's 50 of these. All with cutscenes it seems. Then there's 50 ranked missions, ranging from simple fetch quests to mini games and grand battles. Story mode missions contribute a total of 30% to the completion percentage and it took EG approximately 10 hours for those.

I can personally attest to the fun that is N2 and N3, here in my dorm room we have N3 matches everyday as well as Tekken 5 Matches. The game is subpar, but once you get over that little fact and have people to play it with it becomes a blast. I know that N3 is about 34.99 in Gamestop USED but that is the better game overall.

It's weird. We Europeans got Ultimate Ninja 3 just some weeks ago and we already have its sequel.

Well, not that I'm complaining. :lol

If Storm is anything like UN3 in terms of extras we're in for one amazing game.

Keep in mind that this isn't really the next in the series--that would be Accel.

I know, I know but for us it is the next game still. The Accel games look great, I hope they get released too.

I would 10X rather have this than Accel 1 or 2.

Can PS3s play the JP accel games?

To play accel on a US machine, I don't think you can on a PS3. Personally, I use a slim PS2 and flip-top with swap magic for imports. I think now they have 'keys' or something that you don't have to open your console to use.

I don't want to post a link, I don't know if we can. But if you google around you'll find it.

Oh, then no. Because what Linkzg said just now :p

If you loved NH3, then you're gonna love Accel 1 and 2 even more. I don't think I've ever had such closer fights in any game than I've had in Accel.

I'm basically sitting tight for what "should" be Accel 3, which would reflect where the anime is going now; even more characters, refined and even changed fighting styles, and of course, more awesome specials.

When he says characters have 2 jutsu and 1 ougi, I presume he's referring to the number of different attacks available during a single match because Naruto does have more than his handbook attack as an ultimate and Sasuke has 2 ultimates listed on the website.

My god ... bank account assploding.

Just bought Dead Space and LBP last week.

Plan to get over the next few months:

Resistance 2
Mirror's Edge
Naruto
Valkyria Chronicles
Fallout 3
Motorstorm 2
Rockband 2

Some sports titles (probably Madden, NHL, etc)

Several PSN games

Probably forgetting some

Plus there are several BluRay's I want ... a few older titles ...

Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm features two main game modes for players to enjoy – “Free Battle Mode” and “Ultimate Mission Mode.” In Free Battle Mode, you can play as one of 25 characters from the animated series. The battles aren’t strictly one-on-one either - you can bring two support characters into every battle, who will help you out in short bursts. This is the same three person team structure as the TV series, but now you can create your own teams with all sorts of original combinations. We’ve put a lot of effort into our battles to make sure they match the look and feel of the animated series. You can perform all sorts of amazing moves with your favorite characters and even fight on walls and run over bodies of water.

Ultimate Mission Mode lets you take on 101 missions across Naruto’s Hidden Leaf Village, which acts as a hub for the game. Here, you can acquire new Jutsu moves, purchase items, and even chow down on a bowl of noodles at the Ichiraku Ramen shop! The game’s storyline covers episodes 1-135 of the Naruto animated series, so it’s incredibly comprehensive. In addition to the head-to-head battles, you’ll encounter huge boss battles, races through the forest and tree-climbing battles in this mode.

At the strong request of our fans in North America, the game offers full voicing in both English and Japanese with all the original actors from the animated series. We’re also going to be releasing downloadable content for the game well into next year. It will mostly focus on new support characters and missions and best of all, it will all be FREE!

I'd heard about the free DLC before, but it still amazes me that NAMCO of all companies is really following through on it. I don't think any company has become more hated this gen for their handling of DLC than NAMCO.
