New Ocarina of Time 3D Trailer

Boot switching in the water temple looks great! I love the temple unlike most people, but this will only make it better.

Also, the Triforce pedestals now display a different symbol depending on which dungeon they're near.

Gah! I want it now!

The japanese trailer with the orchestrated music... I've only just watched it. The damn music is epic. I wish this game had it... I would settle for a demo roll that just plays after the title screen with some orchestrated music. Similar to Twilight Princess...

The music actually has me more pumped for Skyward Sword

Actually, the Fire Arrows effect might have been the screen's resolution, but... I don't know, it looked like shit. :/

But if you were a newcomer would you know they showed so much?

Good point, but if I watched a trailer showing as much variation as that trailer did I'd be asking what the hell didn't they show me in the game, I remember a trailer once did that to me.

The boot switching in the water temple has always bothered me, even when I was a kid. Would Link really be able to take the time to switch his boots in the middle some of the situations he finds himself in. It's hard for me to accept that at times even though there are many and far more unbelievable aspects in the Zelda games. At least in scifi you can imagine the character hitting a button on something they are wearing to turn on and off an ability. Oh well.

It is nice to see the interface and it being used combined with actual gameplay footage. Finally put my pre-order throught today with Amazon. Though won't get it until Tuesday at the earliest. Nintendo and their Sunday releases screws up release-date delivery.

And it does, with a few exceptions. Not a very strong argument.
I played it for the first time a few days ago and I was underwhelmed.
It still looked crappy... only crappy in 3D.
The IT WILL LOOK BETTER IN 3D argument doesn't work for me anymore. If the game looks good to begin with - ok.
But stuff that looks bad in 2D will not magically look good in 3D.

Well to me, and a few others I've noticed, 3D is essentially a visual upgrade. While games like Street Fighter may not really benefit from the 3D, RPGs like Zelda and Paper Mario (I assume) will look pretty fan-fucking-tastic in 3D.

Hmm the paper mario thing might be true, as that game was basically made for such a system. I havent seen SFVI in 3D yet but I imagine it looks kind of nice too.

It definitely looks nice, but it doesn't really benefit from the 3D in a beauty sense, in my opinion.

That's what people said about pilotwings 3DS too...

And Pilotwings is my #2 game of the year, second to only Portal 2. It's great and looks brilliant in 3D.

Opinions are like assholes blah blah...

uhh Politewings looks really good. You just hate the Mii aesthetic which is fine.

The "remastering" looks decent, until you realize you're paying full price for a skin pack, and not a very good one at that. For a game of such acclaim with such a passionate fanbase i can't believe Nintendo cheaped out and outsourced it to a company that handled this project in a by-the-book and sterile way, instead of going all out and turning it something truly special, worthy to the name and accolades of its predecessor.

The improved animation

But the colors are nice, even if give the game a very different look.

I agree.

this game looks so good. hype increasing. i got goosebumps during that trailer thinking of all the time i played this game as a kid. day flipping 1.

So "it looks like an N64 game" comments are kind of valid?

I agree it doesn't look like a 2011 game, but compared to the N64 game it's a pretty nice upgrade.

Remakes get the worst reputation. On one side you have people thinking they did too much to mess with the original, and on the other side you have people thinking they didn't do enough.

I kind of wish it looked better, but eh. It looks like enough. If it came out when there were tons of games out, I'd probably pass on it, but I have a fuckton of Amazon credit and not enough 3DS games, so bring it on.

I don't really know if I like the new 'charisma' found in Hyrule Castle Town, think I prefer the old look. (And that god damn neon-green water, WTF)

And the horseback animation, ugh.

I did like the trailer though, it's probably going to be an excellent game but some of the 'upgrades' are a bit odd.

You're not paying for a skin pack, though.

You're paying for a skin pack that's also portable, has improved menu navigation/item selection, has a second quest included, and is 3D.

That screen only adds insult to injury to me, and reminds me what a lazy port this truly is. The only reason they re-imagined the marketplace is because they HAD to. The pre-rendered stuff would've stuck out like a sore thumb on the 3DS.

So many years have passed, you know. There are plenty of people who have never played it. No one is 'cheaping out' by offering a great game to a new generation. It shouldn't be worth less just because it was made a long time ago. All creators should aspire to make something of such quality it can be sold for generations.

Not everything is about *us*.

Old marketplace is much better though.

People calling this a skin pack or lazy port are spewing shit from their fingertips... I'll admit they could have done more, but the slick framerate, the more detailed models for prominent characters, the increased geometry and improved textures, the replacement of the pre-rendered scenes, the touch screen inventory, optional subtle adjustments of gyro for first person aiming, the boss rush mode, and the master quest all make this a pretty awesome package of one of the best games in living memory -- in the year of Zelda's 25th anniversary. Things like the Shiekah Stones will really help young gamers and people who've never played a Zelda before too.

I've played it and it looks gorgeous in 3D... the embers, fairies and particle effects all look sick flying around in 3D, the dialogue boxes and overlays are semi-transparent and sit on top of the game in the foreground... do I wish they'd redone a few animations and a few more models? Maybe up-rezzed the music? Yeah, sure, that might have been cool... but in no way do I not think this is a must have. Just being able to play it on a portable via VC would have been nice, but this is so much better.

Yeah dude, they only did this because they had to, they really didn't care:

So lazy.

I've come to terms with it by thinking it as the same thing as Mario Advance and the likes.

Too bad it's just that though..

Another pre-rendered to 3D shot that proves the exact same thing i just pointed out.
WHY arn't any of the enviroments that were already 3D handled with this much eye of detail and care ?

I cannot understand some people on this thread...

I agree. It's.......not a skin pack. And it's not comparable to the Mario Advance games, which were SNES ports (yeah, with voices). This....isn't a port. The Wind Waker GameCube bonus OoT disc was a port.........

What? The Water Temple, the pedestals, the circle surrounding the torches in the video, and much more have hall had a significant bump and redesign from Ocarina of Time not to mention the columns, the floor, and the jewels in the temple of time. In a lot of ways, it looks better than Twilight Princess.

yeah you'll just be in the same pool with people that don't think all-stars is a worthy re-release either :p
