Were in the same batch as some older images, so they might be old too. Haven't found them in any GC coverage though, and it seems like it's the same location as the trailer.

good god, what a gorgeous game.

i have a question: does the girl in the earliest trailer for this play a part in the game? that whole story she tells, and the transformation from a saccharine love story to a horrifying story of adultery and betrayal. . . well, it was just amazing, and creepy (excluding the mild bits where uncanny valley reared its head).

My God, the lighting... to me it's the most impressive thing about the game so far. It looks spot on for what Quantic Dream are trying to achieve.

aside from the girl model and the lighting, i dont see anything super wow. :/

anyway all those pics are old.

Knowing Quantic Dream they'll probably include all that good character setup but ultimately just resort to having her fuck a dead guy.

:lol

maybe so. still, i hope she--or something similar--makes it into the final game. it would be a shame to see all that amazing work just for a tech demo.

I think they said the techdemo will be on the disc but not part of the story.

The textures on the two women in the background off the first shot are pathetic.

So much for the supposed power of the PS3 and Quantic Dream's boasts of this being visually cinematic.

Not impressed at all.

*folds arms*

Now that the bait is set. We play.... the waiting game.

Great shots...well i still can't understand why hands look so weird in all 3d games..Especially when they are idle or when characters move. They look stretched all the time. In that shot when she is entering from door. It's so common on all 3d games lately.

I know you're joking :P
But these women are mannequins

EDIT: Oh dammit! Beaten - I was looking for spell check on mannequins.

After seeing the presentation behind closed doors at Leipzig I was blown away, this game is really pretty and the way they are setting up the controles is nothing short of brilliant.

Hopefully the demo will be out early next year.

Actually they are stuffed humans. The killer wants them to hang around his apart a little longer, so he stuffed them. In the demo there was even a fresh victim in the bath who was being drained of blood.

They have one hell of a task animating that. The dude in the shadows looks amazing.

That woman needs to show some other expressions though :lol

Titanic was made in 1997... Jurassic Park in 1993. Somehow I don't think that's the effect you wanted to convey.
The problem is both are not 100% CG movie.

Bottom line is, late 90s CG and rendering techniques were pretty astounding already. I can only hope that's what he wanted to convey :D

To expand a bit, techniques like Photon Mapping and Global Illumination existed back then already, which we'll have to wait a bit more to see properly implemented in realtime applications.

As long as there's no fucking stupid Matrix plot twists, we're good.

David Cage promised me it won't go bat shit insane (his words) after I asked if it would be grounded in reality or be strange like Fahrenheit.

it sounds awesome
did the presentation show different emotions with the woman, like fear in her face and stuff? that's what i'm most interested in at the moment, considering she has a pretty calm look on her face in most of the shots that were released

When she found the body in the bath it was a pretty realistic gagging emotion, trying to muster courage to continue exploring the house while being scared. And during the chase scene (if the killer finds you) there is some great facial stuff going, it made her look scared and fragile.

But they are doing a lot of neat stuff, motion capture eyes, body language and some cool facial expressions. And the eyes are by far the most impressive thing. They really need to release a narrated edition of the demo the press saw, because it had me on the edge of the seat.

*walks back into thread*

Hmm.. I wonder who I managed to ensnare with my patented Mannequin trap.

*opens Mannequin trap door. Peers inside*

It would appear my patented troll catching Mannequin trap has back fired.

But in saying that.....

You'd better stay a little longer for observation so I can run some tests.

:O sounds amazing
hope they show something more soon

The game looks great, though the AA seems suspiciously good? I'm curious as to how the thing actually plays though, I'll be disappointed to find one long QTE.

It looks great in screenshots but a little disappointing in motion-that video on the PSN anyway

The PSN video is utter crap compared to the ingame presentation I saw.

It plays like a better version of Fahrenheit. There will the QTE's, but the stuff you do during these would not be possible with conventional controller setups. It feels very much like a 3D Lucerasrts adventure game that is controller based.

They are doing some truely amazing stuff with how you interact and have a "life" within the game. I can understand it's hard for people to be into the game with so little shown to the public, but hopefully that will change soon.
