I can't really agree here, Magnemite isn't literally just a magnet.
You're right, it's a magnet with an eye. If only this sword had an eye.
a sword pokemon
are you serious
Octillery is my favorite Pokemon, so glad he's in.
And jeez just how many mons are gonna be in this pre-E4? It seems like a ton of old Pokemon have been shown in the game already
It does have an eye. You're right, it's a magnet with an eye. If only this sword had an eye.
A magnet? I thought there were two magnets?
Magnemite is a robot junk contraption, it isn't just a magnet.
I fucking hate the effort discrepancy between Pokemon and humans in this game. Not only are the trainers not even visible in the battles, but they don't even have idle animations in the overworld making them all look like frozen Minecraft characters or something.
At this point I suppose XY looks good for someone wanting a 3D battle simulator and not much else, but I'm beginning to doubt that it'll offer any suspension of disbelief at all.
Dude, it's just one single magnet. Don't you remember using those in school all the time?
They looked just like this:![]()

I haven't really played/finished a pokemon game since Gold/silver and Ruby, so this just looks amazing to me.

Don't forget Mr. Mime, who is just a man in a creepy outfit.

Seeing the 3D battles just makes me think about Pokemon stadium, and that makes me excitedIt's definitely the first 'big' step in the graphics department since those games. 3D Pokemon on the go is exciting.
The only thing I don't like about the sword is its name.
Ever since TPCi took over Pokemon's translating, the names and script have been consistently awful but now it's worse than ever. Honedge? TALONFLAME?
One's barely a portmanteau and the other is literally just two words shamelessly slapped together. It's like the current translator has no idea that English Pokemon names are supposed to be based on clever wordplay or puns.
(Remember when Pokemon had names that a lot of people wouldn't "get" until later? Like Bonsly and Sudowoodo? Or Absol with its double-meaning filled brilliance?)
I don't like how the trainer just unexplainedly disappears and isn't anywhere near his/her Pokemon for the rest of the battle. That's almost as bad as having them appear at all.
I like how they waited 'til near the end to show off the diagonal walking.

This is a true next-gen pokemon game.
No. It's simply a metaphorical representation of the young trainer's introduction to puberty. Nothing to worry about it.
Until it evolves.
It does have an eye.

The people complaining about the sword while giving Muk, Grimer and voltorb the pass must have some sort of confirmation bias

Sword guy reminded me of this.

Especially when you have pokemon like ekans and arbok who are just purple snakes (with their names backwards)
And don't even get me started on Seel... The seal pokemon... Who looks like a seal
Oh but he has a horn so it's ok!
