New Sly Cooper 4 gameplay details

The various playable characters sounds like a concern to me. Rarely is this concept excuted well.

I'm not too worried this time since all of the others (minus Bentley and Murray) will be Coopers like Sly. but we'll see.

Yeah that Murray pic is the one that turned me off in the graphics - the realistic texture on his nose.

Good god no. Please keep the awesome Sly series far away from Assassin's Creed. Thank you.

Oh, I think you misunderstood my comment. I didn't mean that they should make this game more like Assassin's Creed. I meant that with all the parallels that this game has with AC, that the developers should include something such as a witty piece of dialogue that would resemble something found in AC, as a sort of inside joke. I've seen a few games include in-jokes as homages to other games, and it would be great to see something like that here.

Looks cool, but my main worry is that this isn't made by Sucker Punch, so I need those bottom line fears assuaged first.

Shouldn't have called it Sly Cooper 4. Maybe Sly Cooper: Something Something.

Just like Sonic 4 isn't Sonic 4 and Sonic Generations is Sonic 4.

It isn't being called Sly 4. Sony backed out, which to me sounds like they don't think Sanzaru can get it done.

Hmm...now there's an idea.

Reversible game cover, with the alternate artwork emblazoned with the title "Sly Cooper: Something Something".

Wasn't this project originally given the green light because Sony and Sucker Punch thought Sanzaru could get it done?

I don't think the lack of "4" in the title means this isn't being treated like a mainline game. These days, most series frequently drop the numbering after the second or third sequel.

Sly has always been good at lines though, especially in 3.

they really should have change Murray design so it look like he's wearing pants even if it has the same color as his skin tone... I don't know if Sly actually wear pants or not, but at least the shape of his leg (or fur) kinda look like pants.

with the announcement of Sly HD Collection coming to PSN, what are the odds that the game is $20? BEcause I see it on Amazon for that price new

Sky HD Collection will be $29.99 on PSN, each game will be $9.99 individually.

I just think it's very suspect that Sony dropped the 4 in a series where every previous entry was numbered, and the shift just so happened to occur during a shift in developers.

Quit calling Murray and Bentley shitty. Murray was tough and could take down goons with no problem, Bentley had the cool sleep darts and bombs. The trio all felt unique, especially with their power ups as the second game progresses. They weren't as agile as Sly but to call them shitty is just...why? Is it just because they weren't agile? Plus they've been in the series since the first game.

The characters in Sly 3, yeah, I get it if you thought those played poorly.

is this confirmed? I think other PS2 HD port like GoW cost $20 individually isn't it. I doubt they'll priced it at $10 each, that's the same price as standard ps2 classic game with no hd.

it could be some kind of rebranding or something. like Ratchet and Clank Future. Sly games don't have enough weight that calling it Sly 4 will make it sell better, in fact, it could backfire and be seen as intimidating, I know some people skip games if they haven't played the previous game in the series.

From the PlayStation Blog post (search in the comments):

"We are very excited to announce that the Sly Collection will be available for download from the PS Store on November 29th (Just 2 weeks!). And of course, all three titles feature trophy support, smooth 60 frames a second frame rate and they are all playable in 3D.
You can purchase the Sly Collection for $29.99 or you can buy the individual titles for $9.99 each. (I am sure if you buy and play one, you will buy and play them all!)
So if you have not had a chance to play the new Sly Collection on Blu-ray or you just want to revisit your one favorite original Sly Cooper game then check them out on the PSN on the 29th."

good for you Sony, although I already bought the retail version. I hope more people buy Sly HD.

and I hope people are not being cheap and not buy Jak collection when it come out so they can buy it cheaper on PSN. Jak trilogy is surely worth $40 retail price. I would have bought it even at $60

So hyped! This looks good, and I hope they choose to include the Egyptian and Old West ancestors as well.

Maybe they are trying to boot another trilogy and cover all the ancestors for the next three games kind of like Assassin's Creed.
