New Star Fox Zero Footage, Landmaster and Walker

- No online
- Terrible graphics

Will pass. Nintendo should know better. Starfox Adventures (2002) looks a lot better than this. Makes you think.

I wasn't very hyped about the game but the landmaster level looks really fun. If there are more like that it could turn out well.

I'm still very much into what I'm seeing from the game. Really dig the Walker and the other transformations. Some weird textures here and there, but it looks like the Star Fox game I've been waiting for since Star Fox 64.
Didn't Miyamoto say it could be added in later if there was demand?
The thing is that there's no online because there's no multiplayer yet. They might announce that at a later date.

Looks like a solid mid-tier game, the kind that have all but disappeared from the market. One hopes Nintendo will price it accordingly, but either way I'm on board.

No multiplayer no buy. I will even tolerate not being able to leave the arwing if I can still battle other players. Although the on foot gameplay added a new level of battle.

Thank god I'm not the only one who thinks that.

Every time I see this new Star Fox shown I'm amazed that nobody is talking about how crappy it looks. I'm not a person who relies on AMAZING GRAPHICS, but this just looks sad to me...

The landmaster stuff looks as good as it was on Starfox 64, the transformations are awesome additions as well.

I'm not going to harp too much on the graphics since it's going for a high framerate but I hope they up the level of detail a bit more. Outside of that as long as it's fun and smooth then cool.

While the graphics are underwhelming, my biggest concern is how you control the game. The whole move around while looking at the TV while occasionally looking at the gamepad to shoot sounds like it will be a nightmare. Hopefully gyro aiming isn't mandatory.

I hope they polish the graphics regarding the launch date, but that Titania footage is just splendid. The level design of that mission is one of the best I've seen in the entire franchise, it just brings one idea after another all the time, with the junk tornado, the giant spiders, the grappling worms, the quicksands, the canyon with different routes... the boss is pretty spectacular too.

This is the same footage from E3, but i am happy that more people are getting excited for the game, i think it looks really fun and the levels showed show a lot of fun ideas. I would love to know who is doing the soundtrack for the game

I'm not sure what topics you've been reading. Just about every major Star Fox Zero topic has had dozens worth of pages arguing about how it looks

The game is rendering on two separate screens at 60 fps, so they had to compromise on graphics. I have no idea how many times this has been said, but it's a lot.

I really really really want to be excited for this. I love Starfox and own every version of the game. But the gyro controls seem so unnessecary and previews Ive read havent been good. I hate that Nintendo wants to force it on people. I dont find gyro aiming fun and if they give me the option to turn it off, ill be fine but Im not holding put hope that they will.

Edit-

It seems as though Nintendo WILL allow gyro controls to be turned off. Ok-now excited

It is already confirmed that you can turn off the gyro and play with the right stick controlling the reticle.

I don't why it is but there really seems to be no scale or weight to the vehicles, it looks far more like you're controlling radio controlled toys rather than real vehicles.

Ah sorry, I don't frequent Nintendo threads much since I don't have a WiiU. Just been skimming comments on videos and what not.

I really doubt that.

The environments were surely more detailed in Star Fox Adventures.

So, because it renders in 60fps on 2 screens the graphics are as sad as this? Seriously, this is just Starfox 64 with a resolution bump and some new effects and textures. This is easily the worst looking Nintendo game in a long, long time.

The fact that this game (as of now) doesn't have multiplayer is inexcusable. Playing co-op with a buddy is what this game should be about. Battling it out in space with friends is what this game should be about. Fans have been dreaming about this shit for years and now they give us a crappy looking, single player only, new generation Starfox game? Wow, thanks.

Obviously Nintendo missed the mark big time. They don't seem to know or care what the people want (Metroid Prime 3ds anyone?). Gameplay should be fine as always. However, they are burying their own franchise. For example; if people see this game being demo'ed at a Best Buy or whatever they will think it's a re-release of Starfox 64 or something. They will walk by, laugh and buy the next Sony/Microsoft game.

your not alone, i am shocked at just how bad this looks.
I will reserve full judgement until i see the finished version, really hope it plays amazing.

I'll take the hit to the graphics if it ensures a solid 60fps. Splatoon also sold me on the potential of gyro controls.

Colour me cautiously optimistic, hopefully things will pick up later in the campaign - there's some good pedigree working on this.

This just doesn't do anything for me.

Same. :/ Really hoping it ends up being much more exciting than it looks. I'm not a big Star Fox guy to begin with but I'm just not seeing a lot that really excites me. I want the game to enthrall me and make me feel like I'm playing as the legendary hero Fox McCloud in flight, taking on dastardly armadas and narrowly evading dangerous circumstances. I'm not getting that from the footage I've seen. I hope this is yet another Nintendo game that looks much, much better closer to release than it does at the first footage reveal.

Eh.

It just looks so... dull. Like there should be so much more going on on-screen. Have they said anything about a hard mode, maybe?

You should probably get together with Shiggy then. Maybe he'll let you join his evangelization campaign about this game and Devil's Third that's been going for months now.

Titania looks great. Seeing additional routes is awesome. All I hope is that the game has a harder difficulty setting since the levels look like they lack a little bit of action currently.

The graphics look "Clean", but the style of making everything "Blocky" which I guess is an homage to SF64 was just terrible. It makes the game look very bad.

But the worst part that I'm still seeing again is how freaking EMPTY the damn worlds are. Especially when you're in the "Chicken Walker". Going through these wide empty corridors is just terrible pacing in a game that is supposed to be non-stop action. I sure as hell do not see any influence by Platinum Games here despite being told they were on board.

This has got to be one of the worst marketable games in recent memory (by that I mean absolutely nothing shown via screens or teasers is generating any hype).

I'll buy it, play it and surely enjoy it, but the graphics are quite disappointing. Surely they can pump some pretty into it before release?
