I can deal with this. For some reason, the character that seems the strangest to me in the one shot in Bones.

can't really say why.

OMFG, you mean to tell me people liked DS9 as much as ST:TNG?! Odo?! The Dominion?? LAME! I'd rather chopsticks in my eyes then watch another DS9 episode.

Were you guy like 6 years old when ST:TNG came out in 1987?
Joke post?

All this screen shot does is worry me about the quality of the movie.

No, I just happened to watch ST: TNG, ST: DS9, and ST: V sequentially (every episode) a few months ago and DS9 was clearly the absolute best. TNG is good, but mostly because of nostalgia. No other Trek show had better character development than DS9.

With Pegg and the White Castle dude, I'm going to have a hard time taking this movie seriously.

Why is Spock chocking Kirk?

Why is Kirk commanding, isn't this supposed to be Academy days?

Yes, I'm a geek....[/QUOTE]
Why is J. J. Abrams directing this movie? :(

Funny how peoples opinions of Star Trek differ depending on various things such as age group. To me the newer Enterprise and Voyager were the best. I have all of the series and I have enjoyed them all. Some quick Thoughts:

Star Trek Original: Cheesy and old. Really bad visuals, some decent plotlines.
Next Generation: This is when the series started getting more serious, great, but still some cheese.
Deep Space 9: It's different and decent enough, still I prefer the ship layout of the show.
Voyager: This is one of the best Star Treks and I think the stories and writing is often times better then Next Generation.
Enterprise: People gave up on this during season one but the show really picked up in season 3-4 and became quite the masterpiece that no one saw. Some bad acting in places but the art design was brilliant and the stories and overall epic feel was better then previous Star Treks.

My opinions of course. :D

From "Ain't It Cool":

Hey folks, Harry here... The cover of the new Entertainment Weekly has Kirk & Spock v.2.0 on the cover doing their best "strike a pose" - but inside the issue is the real treats - actual shots from the film. It is strange, it feels like a million years ago when JJ showed me the brief snippets of STAR TREK that he was willing to share, but looking at the below still of Sylar as SPOCK - I can't help but remember just how perfect he was in the scenes I saw. Quinto nailed the Nimoy thing. Had the eyebrow gymnastics down and the slight wry irony of observing these Humans down perfectly. I just can't wait to see the next trailer which will really give everyone an idea of what this film is. HOWEVER, for you STAR TREK junkies - pick up the new ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY, as it's the first step to lifting the veil of secrecy off the direction of this beloved franchise. ...Yes?

I probably started watching TNG by the time it got to the third season or so, but I started watching DS9 the moment it came out alongside TNG. I loved a lot of things about TNG, but DS9 was much better on many levels (particularly their storytelling).

I have a bit more fondness for the DS9 characters because I could identify with them a lot more than I could with TNG's.

As for the screens, I'll need to see a trailer but the pics don't really look all that bad.

Screw the haters, those costumes kick ass. As do the sets. And I feel better and better about Kirk every time they show him.

Not so crazy about Sylar/Spock though.

Star Trek has lost it's direction completely.

Everyone should go back and watch ST:TNG again, then come up with a new series.

Fuck DS9. Fuck Voyager. Fuck Enterprise.

you are going to be on a lot of ignore lists now.

How so? Oh, and I DO NOT like the new look of the Enterprise... AT ALL. Who the fuck came up with this?

Somebody that was too much of a fan of Galxey Quest mixed with little bit of Babylon Five...

And Sylar. I love Star Trek but I would've much preferred the entire cast to be no-name actors.

I love DS9 but it was the least popular Star Trek next to Enterprise. Not really a big accomplishment. I also loved TNG but....

24th Century Trek was so over done it limped into it's death. I am sooooo glad it is 100% dead. Trek needed to get back to Kirk and co. to survive. No one in the world has a clue who any of the characters outside of TOS were but trekkies.

Yeah, really.

ST:TNG was nominated for an Emmy for Best Dramatic Series during its final season. It also received a Peabody Award for Outstanding Television Programming.

DS9 didn't come close.

holy cow this post has so much wrong with it....

That set was lifted off of some dudes rendition of Legend of Galatic Heroes (and two others per my recent post):lol :lol :lol

On second look that podiem looks like a larger PADD system. WTF EVEN MORE! WHY DO YOU NEED A FUCKING PODIEM TO SCRIBE? Lord... :lol :lol :lol

WTF EVEN MORE SO...

WHERE IS THE GODDAMN BUTTONS JJ?

I can deal with the HD Ani-prise BUT WHERE IS THOSE PRETTY MUTICOLORED GODDAMN BUTTONS!? This isnt Power Rangers In Space JJ. THIS IS TREK.

everybody looks too young. Why would a bunch of young people like that get command of a hugefuckoff spaceship.

It just looks like a scene from a sketch show.

I wonder if all the people writing off the movie based on 5 photos will be eaten alive when the movie turns out to be great.

Im getting a "Heath Ledger to play Joker in Dark Knight" vibe from this thread.

Think the movie version of most anime girls " shes too young to be 16 - 18 " and you have your answer.

Looks goofy/retro enough to turn off newcomers to the franchise, while different enough from the original to piss off hardcore fans. Which is a pretty good summary of how the film's "have it both ways" approach to continuity may play out at the box office.

Seriously, keeping the miniskirts and knee-high boots for Uhura?
