New Tales game to be announced next week

I want another game from Team Destiny. ToDr is too damn good and beats the crap out of all other Tales games so easily. >=(

Nintendo might've handled production there too I guess (seems likely as Hometek's pretty wary of GBA inventory risks) but Namco still handheld the localization iirc. Symphonia was entirely Hometek though.

Tales of Rebirth (PSP) Tales Studio Team Mobile
Tales of the World: Narikiri Dungeon 4 (DS) Alfa System
1-3 mobile games by various developers

I don't think they'd put Team Symphonia on a port project (or "remake" I guess). I'm just hoping that Abyss sequel rumour comes true >.>; I just saw some of the little videos I recorded while playing, and I got hyped =(

Anyway, I'm gonna get my hopes up and hope Jeux France is right. Now, duckroll said we might see something in maybe 6 - 12 hours right? <3 time zones
 
Man, it's kind of weird thinking of how the PSP may get Symphonia and Rebirth in the next year or two. Feels like yesterday when those games came out. :lol

Team Symphonia handled the PS2 Symphonia port themselves... I'd expect this to be a similar setup. We'll probably see a new Wii game from them then a year later (Sword of Symphonia? Tales of the Abyss sequel? Tales of Phantasia remake?).

Considering how PS2 chugged on Symphonia, I doubt PSP could even handle the game as is... basically everything would need to be radically scaled back to Radiant Mythology levels of geometry/scope, it'd be a terrible conversion.

Rebirth and even the Destiny remake seem far more likely imo.

This is correct. Namco localized all of them. Symphonia, Legendia, Phantasia, Abyss. Phantasia was a different producer than the others, though, if I recall.

The Symphonia PS2 port served as the base for Abyss. If there's any truth in Team Symphonia doing a Wii game (like that JF rumour indicates) an Abyss port back to the Symphonia GC engine makes sense as preparation.

Because by all accounts it's mediocre and short at the very best and considered flat out horrible by most? It dropped to $14.90 at P-A really really fast and has stayed there.

Gotta hate the Tales-series.

Crappy characters (who look like crap)
Crappy/Cheesy dialogue
The same ****ing battle-system and skills in every entry...


But im a FF-whore now so im not judging anyone. A little improvements would be appreciated though for the next Tales.
 
Come on fans, you're supposed to be really excited. This game is being made due to strong demand from the fanbase. :lol

Is criticism trolling ? Or do i have to explain why the simple anime-faced architype-characters suck ass ?

But dont get me wrong. I have completed Tales of Eternia and it was moderate fun. For travels. I played Tales of Symphony also but couldnt finish it due to the horrific plot and characters. Gave me nightmares...
