New Tomb Raider Trailer Today

Think i will be avoiding most TR threads unless in community section. At some point people really need to fucking get over it, seriously.

Indeed. Hopefully around e3 we can start discussing the game and not the deal anymore. But still, 2 weeks wait is going to be tough! Cant believe its almost time :D

I really feel this game being timed exclusive will bite Crystal Dynamics in the ass sales wise.

But what would make a developer go full/timed exclusive? They must weigh up the benefits of both scenarios, so even though it may look like less sales due to a single console launch they must get something else in return, if they don't why do it?

I'm wondering how long till the PC version as the Xbox PC push with windows 10 I can't see it being that long (Feb maybe). Then PS4 version fall 2016.

So not impressed at all.....but yes, CD will loose in numbers big time....I'm on PS4.
If it releases around the same time as Uncharted it will lose sales, because why would you pick that over uncharted, if it releases months after uncharted, different story

"Exclusive to Xbox" doesn't leave out the Windows 10 Store. I'm wondering if we see the 360 version cancelled and the PC version launched day one and exclusive to the Windows 10 store for a time (Steam later along with PS4).

There's probably one bigger somewhere but...

Did they count on a Uncharted 4 delay? It would have benefitted more before the delay now with Uncharted coming out before March around the time Tomb Raider would be coming out it could hurt them.

I would have put money on it becoming multiplatform again after the delay with Uncharted but it doesn't seem to be the case.

This and Gears of War will take over my Xbox One this year.

I wont be able to wait for it for PS4

I think thats 90% of the reason they went exclusive. Go up against uncharted on ps4? nah. Get microsoft money, take their ad budget, release on PS4 later after Uncharted fever.

Hate CGI trailers, just visual lies.

But what was this trying to go for? More inner survival crap that was hilariously bad in the last game? Yeah, that's gonna sell me on the game.

I like CGI for announcements. This was just pointless though.

I mean, I am usually that sucker that believes it's in-game but there's no way in hell any of that was in game. I'm still hyped as hell for this game though

Guess we have to wait for E3 for gameplays. CGI looks good though.

Sam and Jonah are confirmed to be in the game. In the first trailer, Lara was suffering from a serious case of PTSD. According to CD, Sam is even worse off than Lara in that regard.

Man, fuck that. Lara screaming Sam the whole game gave me a headache. I hope it's a small cameo and she isn't damsel in distress again.

When she was terrified and confused and fighting for survival was when the last game was GOTY material. The first 90 minutes or so of tomb raider were fantastic. Whenever she turned into Rambo suddenly touted machine guns and using some half assed tacked on crafting system was when the game took a giant turn for the worse for me.

Kind of like how it was in the original tomb raider games. When you were just exploring and platforming and fighting lions and dinosaurs the game was epic. As soon as fighting humans took over. It became trash

I really liked the 2013 reboot, so i'm looking forward to this. I don't think anyone expects this trailer to be in-game, and besides we'll most likely see gameplay or something more in depth at E3, per the mention in the trailer.

Jonah's the only one who's been confirmed but Sam hasn't.

In the last issue of the comics the front cover suggests that Sam gets committed to a mental asylum so hopefully that's the end for her.

I don't mind Jonah but I doubt we'll be seeing much of him as after the
Avalanche
they split up. Which is supposedly at the start of the game.

She could avenge her death....

i really hated the supporting cast of TR, all of them.

The story was pure garbage and very badly presented. Like someone though this was a good way to tell a story and they were fucking wrong. A lot to learn from ND there. Mechanically it was solid but unremarkable.

I'm saying it's my personal preference to have a more action oriented title. If it works out for them and they sell tons of games then I can't fault the change in direction. They will lose the people like me who gave up on Tomb Raider in the past but came back and enjoyed the reboot. They'll have to hope that they gain more "adventure" people than they lose "action" people.

Unfortunately for them they'll have to do quite a bit a marketing because most people will now expect a game like the last one. I predict that there will be a backlash from people like me who will buy Rise of the Tomb Raider expecting a more action oriented title and be bored when there is no one to shoot.

Stop making me imagine a beautiful future that won't happen.

Honest question...does anybody really care about CGI trailers?

I quite liked the last TR game, it had a really solid base for future games, get rid of the shitty supporting cast and make a better story and it could give Uncharted a real run for its money.

That said, Im bummed that this is going to be XB1 only for a while.

They were great during the PS1/PS2 generation. But now..... -_-
Boring, imo.

I hate CGI trailers they should at least showed something like this UI less and at the end put "in-engine footage".

But No. Because TR will not look like this.

2015 game, announced last year with a CGI Trailer. And we get another CGI trailer a year later...

I doubt that this will make it in 2015.

Man, CG trailers do nothing for me. Still not excited about this game despite enjoying TR2013. Need to see some gameplay

Dude did you really need to bring in that Uncharted comparison? Leave it alone

It doesn't matter if it's Cgi or in game... It won't play like that anyways...

I cant get excited about a game based on a cut scene.

I agree, im excited for this but with literally no gameplay shown and the game is supposed to be out this holiday, I just don't see it making it in 2015.

I don't mind CG trailers when they are done well. Maybe teasing some new aspects or mechanics/abilities that will be in the game. While also setting the tone and story of the game. The Arkham games and Deus Ex have done good with this.

What did we get here? Snow, mountains, climbing then entering a tomb. We still have no idea what was going on. Pretty vague trailer.

The only explanation I can think of is that they are holding a massive gameplay reveal and info blowout to showcase at E3. Otherwise it makes no sense that we've seen so little despite it launching in 5-6 months.

There's a full gameplay reveal in 2 weeks and SE has stated its coming holiday 2015 in their financials. So unless there's a catastr His setback on the next few months it'll still come out. We haven't seen anything from battlefront either

Because if the game will be released "soon" they should show us a something in engine or a little gameplay footage. And i bring Uncharted 4 to the table because NextGen TR should look at least like Uncharted one. TR Reboot on last gent looked as good as Unhcarted Trology. Just saying.

Still not get why companies still spend money on CGI/Live Action trailers, who buy a game because trailers like this? I prefer 5 seconds of in engine/game trailer than 2 minutes of nothing.

I didn't play the reboot when it originally came out but played DE late last year and loved it. I'm very excited for more. Can't wait to see some gameplay at E3.

As much as I hated the last TR game, can't help but to get hype for this one, one of few things I want to see this E3.
