New trailer for Disney's "Zootopia"

I mean animation looks amazing and maybe it'll be great, but the whole trailer was a "sloths are slow" joke.

I appreciate that yes they work at the DMV, but I mean the WHOLE trailer was a sloths are slow joke.
A joke can be different, if you change the scenario and the way, you tell it
There are not simply sloths, but sloths working in a driving license office. Something what is already slow, made even slower. But the filmmaker play it straight. The sloths take there job seriously and the other animals life with the fact. Then you have the joke, that sloths are slow, told very lengthily, which makes it funny again. To top it all off, the Fox, who is a dick, knows the silliness of the situation, and uses it, to push the buttons of the rabbit.

Those four layers make the joke work.

Nice change of pace from normal trailers, it seemed fast paced and typical at the start preparing to dump the whole plot on you. Im sure the others will be more traditional but this trailer has got me wanting to see it already.

Furries kind of ruined that kind of character design for me (forgot the specific name).
Can't imagine the horrible shit this will spawn on deviantart...

Cant wait to have a dinsey buddy cop movie finally. The original idea was going to be Roger Rabbit and Mickey Mouse, and it would have been amazeballs, but this still looks incredible, thank god.

I really, really hope she doesnt talk much, because if disney decides to dub her with Shakira also here (Spain), she is going to destroy the character.
That woman has the spnish voice of a drunken truck driver and doesnt know how to act to save herself, and much less she can dub an animated character.

Probably the worst cast of the whole movie, what were you thinking Disney Animation Studios?

That was a very funny trailer :'). I just couldn't get over the Fox's damn smirk while the sloth is talking slowly, then him telling a joke to the sloth making him distracted. I lost it both when he turned to the co-worker and when he had that delayed laugh.

Really funny and I love the look of the films world; very bright and colorful plus the designs of the two main characters (the rabbit and fox) are fantastic. Love the fur effects Disney is putting into the animals and lots of little touches I really liked (the rabbit being a fast talker and hyper active, the sloths mirroring how they look like in real life, ect).

Looking forward to this honestly :).

Wait, THIS was the Mickey X Roger Rabbit Film pitch O_O!?

Well, at least they made the most with changing it, as having an original world opens the doors to new characters, a fresh setting and a new take on things. I guess Fox takes Mickey's place while the Rabbit takes Roger's place, with the plot of the film being slightly altered to fit within the new world Disney Animated Pictures is making.

This isn't the first time Disney took something based on Roger Rabbit and turned it into a new IP (Bonkers was originally a Roger Rabbit cartoon but issues prevented usage of the Roger Rabbit IP or something, so they kept the core ideas but changed things around).

Probably the best animal design cartoon characters in a CGI movie, thats for sure.

Reminds me of a less serious Blacksad. Doesnt surprise me the Blacksad guys came from disney studios.

Yes, frst it started as a remake of the Dean Martin movie, The Stooge, just with Mickey and Roger as the stars. Then it passed to being a buddy cop movie in Toontown. Then it was scrapped, and this movie appeared.

It's also just a clip from the movie. Would you feel the same if it wasn't labeled as a trailer, or are you seeing a distinction between the two regardless?

I have no clue whether The Stooge was definitively scrapped or not (or if it even got off the ground), but some Google searching indicates there were still meetings going on about it within Disney back in early 2014. Zootopia on the other hand got announced in August 2013. It might be similar, but I'm pretty sure this is a totally different project.

Except the females actually look like animals and not, in many cases, slightly animal looking women

trailers and clips serve different purposes to me, so yes if it had been just a clip instead of the trailer they'll show in theaters I wouldn't mind.

I mean y'all are welcome to like the joke, but watching this isolated scene didn't get me hyped outside of the character design and animation quality. Alongside the rest of the movie it might work better. Don't let me rain on your parade though, I'll eagerly await the movie as I do other animated films.

The trailer didn't blow me away either, but this reminds me of the reactions to the trailers for Inside Out where the entire thing was essentially a "Men only think about sports and forgetting the toilet seat" gag yet the movie itself is one of the year's best. I'd view it as they're trying to save their bigger gags for the film. On the bright side it's at least a more creative take on the "slow person" joke using pauses in speech rather than stretching out each word like you normally see.

I'm more annoyed at the Dreamworks smile plastered on the fox's face in every shot, video, and promotional piece. I hate the Dreamworks smile. And it's in practically 3D Disney movie!

Ah, that sucks. :(

I was so looking forward to that team up between Mickey and Roger.

I do love the look of Zootopia and will see it, just I really want to see Mickey and Roger together again too.

But it's not even a theatrical trailer. It's a marketing move because people are more inclined to watch things labeled as 'trailers'. If you're able to see it for what it actually is, I'm not sure why you'd only be capable of viewing it under the pretenses of one.

The fox has the most absurdly smug face I've ever seen in my life and it's equal parts entertaining and aggravating.

oh it's not a theatrical trailer?

Then eh, I guess it doesn't bother me. I simply don't like the idea of trailers that are just an out of context scene. In here it's simple to grasp, but all it tells me is that the film goes somewhere every other show with sloths has gone before. Simple as that. But maybe in the movie it's just part of a better film. As someone else said, I wasn't a fan of the initial Inside Out 'trailer' of the dinner table.

That clip made me go from not paying attention to the movie yet, to extremely excited for it.

I absolutely adore Disney Animation Studios, and have such a respect for their artists.

In spite of the characters being animals, you can tell it's the same art style they employ in Frozen, BH6, and Tangled for example. The body language and expressions of the characters are so well animated and timed. I just adore great animation.

No, Bold One don't.

Chris Sanders (main Lilo&Stich dude) turns EVERYTHING he draws into porn and he is not a furry if it helps

...this movie sounds NOTHING like Roger Rabbit + Mickey Mouse =|

I bet they have a blacksad reference in this

watching the trailer again, I really love both of the main characters. Ginnifer Goodwin and Jason Bateman are doing a great job. I'm just not quite sure why they had to cast Shakira, of all people, but we'll see

oh, and they have Elba and Simmons too. I'm going to enjoy the movie

Funny, Disney pretty much confirm that Nick and Judy are just going to be friends in the end, rather than develop a more romantic relationship. Granted not sure if they would do that kind of relationship between two different animals, but I sure teh fan art will be fun!!

This mental image is hilarious to me.

Just a flustered Disney executive rushing out to a podium during a press conference, hundreds of cameras flashing, a bit like some kind of White House spokesman, delivering a speech to a sea of furry's about how these characters are just friends. They are just involved in a platonic friendship. So could all Zootopia fans stop with all the creepy fan art, thank you?
