New Witcher 3 Video | New Gameplay on monday

It's strange how I see a beautiful game, and others see "downgrade". Am I missing something here?

Theoretically, there can be both. A game can be less than what was originally presented and still look fantastic.

It just kind of depends on how you want to frame your outlook at that point. I'm happy with what I'm seeing.

It does look great, beautiful even. Still doesn't look quiet as good as I was hoping. This footage, though brief, doesn't look equal to Unity in terms of quality IMO.

That being said I think there will be much more going on in the world of Witcher 3 and it may very well end up looking superior. I was just really hoping Witcher 3 would smash everything out on PC upon release.

Either way can't wait for more footage on Monday and it very well may blow me away visually then.

This actually looks a lot more like The Witcher 2 that I expected. Also, just look at those sexy particle effects. It's going to be one beautiful game that's for sure.

Interesting mix of opinions. It looks better than before. It looks downgraded from before.

I think it looks fine. About as good as I would realistically expect it to look. It's a massive game.

like i said im looking at it on a very small window here

so it could just be so compressed im not seeing the imperfections and aliasing and whatnot. ill re-comment once I get home and see it on my TV

Sure, but as great as the environments of Unity can look, it also looks janky as shit in places. Also performance leaves a lot to be desired.

I wish the camera were a bit closer.

I like a more cinematic view personally ,but I guess it could cause camera problems.

I think Souls games tend to have a closer camera which makes encounters more personal.

Could be remembering things wrong though.

If I'm remembering correctly, didn't the Witcher 2 camera pan further away when you got into combat then return closer, almost over the shoulder, when outside of combat?

I think it was a reactive camera. Sometimes it would pull back if it detected you were surrounded, but it didn't always.

Looks absolutely great. Although...

Game is beautiful, whoever thought there will be a downgrade can eat crow :)

...I'm preeeeetty sure this is the PC version being played with an XBO controller. I would love to be proven wrong, but I have a hard time imagining the XBO pulling this off. Will be interesting to see what the console versions look like.

Can't disagree with that at all.

One thing I am happy about is that this recent Witcher 3 delay was specifically to squash out bugs as the game is complete in terms of content. Really hoping we get a smooth experience at launch.

So glad that Vesemir is back in this. I missed him in TW2 and also thought that he deserved a bigger role in TW1. I hope he sticks around a bit longer in this one. Games like these always benefit from a cool old dude(tm).

This game will consume my life. Might end up being my favorite game ever. Letting the public have hands on time shows they're confident in the game which is good to hear after all the controversy with the delays and stuff.

I just hope they improve the combat. I really want to like the Witcher games, but the combat always feels so janky to me. Like I am hacking at something my size and it does not react at all to being hit. Hopefully that is a bit better with this one.

I hated the combat in the first but I thought 2's was pretty decent.

Because this was the initial footage?

Being a downgrade and being beautiful aren't mutually exclusive. It can be a downgrade and still look decent.

The way that reveal was animated always made me think it was just a vertical slice. I never expected it to look like that come release.

Wow, looks way better than the recent screens and footage. If the PS4 version looks similar I'll be very, very impressed.

The use of motion blur and the dynamic camera in that gif is still glorious. I really wish the game pulled it off.

Remember they pulled some magic with the visuals on 360.

I put all my hopes into the hands of CDPR
There will be no downgrade

I mean, some things are downgraded, like the design of the King of the Wild Hunt. The reason, however, we don't really know.

But honestly, this game looks so great for an open world game that I can't complain. It's got a style.

maybe this was the reason why they delayed or they wanna suprise us and put extra a bad trailer.

I mean, the new design is on the shirt. It's the final design. It could be for other reasons than technical restraints, but it is what it is.

Game looks fine though, I wouldn't worry too much about it. I definitely think they shot a little high with their initial trailers, but they're not hiding anything right now.

I hate downgrades :/ after Watch dogs i am very critical to them
I wish CDPR the best and hopes they will blow us away with their game
