New Xenoblade X story trailer

Since I've already been seen as being too negative on the game, even though I can't wait for it, I've tried to hold off judgment on that kind of thing. It does seem odd that the only "antagonist" looking things we have had so far are of the cartoon bad guy variety. Look how evil and mysterious they are as they taunt you before attacking.

Gah, too negative, moving on.

Pretty soon I'm going to have to stop coming into Xenoblade threads until the NA release.

Still gonna watch this trailer though.

Respect for translators just went up like 100x. Shit's hard.

Also last gif, I need to sleep. This trailer came up at a horrible time because I was feeling super tired but now I'm wide awake.

SO MUCH HYPE!!

And yeah it's funny because I'm not a big fan of that one FE:If and most of the SMTxFE outfits but I honestly don't really mind the "sexualization" in this game because 1) the human default designs are all pretty damn tame even compared to Fiora and Sharla's default outfits (OMG pants!); 2) if they're villains, a lot of them probably won't be sticking around for the majority of the game and 3) I can stick all my dudes in bathing suits to even things out a bit hehe.

Time to rewatch the trailer!

I wish I know what anyone was saying. I saw lots of dolls getting wrecked though, don't need a translation for that.

Hype.

Alien cleavage is good too.

I just started playing Xenoblade Chronicles for the first time last week, really loving it so far. I'm curious to see how X will connect to the first game....or will it be completely unrelated?
I haven't really been keeping up with the news on this game.

I don't understand Japanese at all. I have no right to do this because it might give people wrong ideas but should I post some bad translations I did? I'll spoiler tag them mind you.

Music/atmosphere taken straight off Guilty Crown's textbook.

AND I'M FUCKING OKAY WITH THAT

edit: Go figure, of course they had the same composer .. the trailer just felt like home from the get go.

Probably not. I have no doubt that our resident hero translators will get to it soon enough so no worries.

I really want to know the alien's motives behind hating humans so much. I mean, for fucks sake you already blew up our goddamn planet, what more do you want?

Go ahead, but if you dont understand Japanese at all then it might mostly guess :P

Then it's all guesswork that can be dismissed. I also can't pick out a bit of it at the end and some small sections in between.

Now, from the beginning we can tell that the attack on NLA is severe and most likely forces them out. Lyn says "Please don't die. Live and return to NLA."

Also when Mardreth appears holding up a gun, I assume she says "Quietly surrender, or fight us." When Lyn then says "Aren't you a fellow BLADE comrade like us?!"

I then assume Cecilia? She says "I do not wish to return." Then Lion dude and cat girl show up being all "That was rather evil of you." "Not to your liking?" "No no, by all means let us continue."

Then squid lady says what I'd assume is "What is it you earthlings are doing?" Or maybe she wonders what she's doing?

I then assume Lao is lamenting losing NLA because I heard him saying they lost their second home. I then think Elma says that the future of humanity lies on this planet and they can't give it up.

Lyn then says "It's ugly isn't it? It's filthy isn't it? But that's what humans are!" Irina then says "It's not just you! Even I didn't want to leave the planet I loved. We're all impatient. We're worried." Lyn then says "Maybe it would have been better if we disappeared... but... but!..."

Those are some lofty expectations.

Well in fairness it also asserts that the previous Xeno continuations were all at that same level too and I don't actually believe that. :P

Xenogears, best game ever. But hey, anything that emulates it at all is worth a buy from me!

Any idea as to what's going on in that scene at 2:55?

Here's a shitty retro-style gif of it I made

Looks to be underwater? nahhh

Maybe they treat us like a disease. Humans are destined to destroy the universe or something.
But coming from takahashi you can expect a very nice answer to your question.

Might be used in other media, but it doesn't make it any less lazy in my opinion. Either way it's not a make or break on what will otherwise be a fantastic experience.
It's for cinematic reasons to help better tell the story by visual means. You get to see where the character is and what the mech is doing (for instance you see it moving really fast on the water) without actually blatantly showing you where it is and what it's doing—you already know it because of the 360° view around the cockpit.

Ooh, nice trailer. Can't wait until next week. If I had to bet, I'd say we probably haven't seen many, if any, scenes more than 1/3 to 1/2 into the game at this point. I have a feeling this is going to eat up hundreds of hours of my time.

Looking forward to the translation, but it's looking so good.

I really hope Nintendo finally gives us the details of the western release at E3.

In terms of sexualization, Lorithia got them thaaaangs too

Also looked cartoonishly evil. And I'm okay with that?
Heh, I've been getting serious Lorithia vibes from the alien chick.

Seriously, what the hell is the big deal that they're wearing revealing outfits? I can't believe that's being brought up as a focal point of discussion with this trailer. Besides we'd already seen her design in previous trailers. ...

Anyway, am going to miss the British VA from the original since I doubt they can do that for "Neo LA"

Absolutely awful, actually pretty shocked at how awful that one looks. The rest seems pretty ok but that one is puke worthy.

I need some subtitles with this because this trailer is doing nothing for me except giving me worries about the framerate.
Care to explain? If anything, the reviews we got so far didnt mention any problems with choppiness and framerate issues. Dengeki reviewer even got surprised the game ran so well .

Eh, after a while it becomes a pretty tiresome 'thing' to keep having sexualized designs; I'm sure it's less a big deal to men talking about it.... I "like" to give XB a "free pass" because hot dayum Dunban looks good (and all of them do) when you get them in swimming gear. But yeah, otherwise Xenoblade seems to be a pretty bad and casual offender on "sexy design metric" (you can probably have a counter going for the amount of T&A shots on
Seven
in Xenoblade; made worse when she clenches herself and talks about
"my [new] body"
in a number of cutscenes).

With respect to accents: Fuck it, MAKE EM BRITISH ANYWAYS.

Anyways, great looking trailer. Hell, I even love that train wreck villain who looks gross, hideous, and beautifully unsettling. I can't wait for this game, I will not see my boyfriend unless he's bringing me pizza.

KITTY!!!!!!!

I definitely have some reservations about this game. Story looks typical JRPG end of the world stuff. Level designs look very flat and bland (before anyone throws a fit; LEVEL design. Art direction looks great). And of course... those faces.

Yet I know I won't be able to stop myself from getting this Day 1. Please be good.

What the hell level design are you looking at?

Some bits in this trailer have iffy framerate and I just hope that doesn't carry over to the gameplay. I remember XC having some framerate issues on the wii as well at certain points and I hope that won't occur this time around.

Well, that's good then, but this trailer definitely made me worry a bit.

"Typical end of the world stuff" in a game that takes place after the Earth was already destroyed, and "flat and bland" level design when they give you FLYING mechs to deal with terrain that's anything but flat and bland?

What game have you been following?

I really hope it is expanded on since it's looking like cartoon villein evil for the sake of it at worst, and "they are lower beings so we are going to kill them HAHAHA" at best right now. :c

I trust Takahashi to not make it that bad though.
