And then everything was open world.
Every new IP shown at E3 seems to be open world in some kind of way. The use of 8GB RAM is really showing, which is awesome. The new Dead Rising looked huge with the thousands of zombies roaming the streets and the player driving his car. When they showed The Crew, you saw these mountains far away in the background and the developer said you could drive there and explore them, which is also amazing. And The Division and Destiny only add to that. I also think Nintendo deserves a point for X, because the cities etc in the latest trailer are impressive to say the least.
And the great thing about this is not only the huge scale, but everything also looks very cool/high-end. At times, I almost can't believe these games are running on PS4/Xbone, it's much better than I expected. If these games are 60fps/1080p, I really have no clue how they will keep improving their shit in the next couple of years lol.
I really think this increase in RAM (together the cpu and gpu) is one of the best things next gen. Games will be bigger, the worlds will be bigger and I think creativity in general will only get better from this. I know we might have said the same about this gen back in 2005/2006 but I feel like RAM etc was in a transition period back then. I don't think everyone will be gaming with 16gb ram or so in 3-4 years, unless we meet a real big jump in graphics.
