We have seen all RDNA2 GPUs with infinity cache exceeding 2 GHz and the trolls are coming because they don't know what they have seen. They have not seen anything, I have seen that they have mentioned infinity cache that practically all GPUs exceed 2.2 GHz of game clock. And that Lian Lu has said that infinity cache combines perfectly with 256 bits.

Which is the perfect definition of what Cerny said on Road to PS5.

And when they upload the hotchip and we can see where the infinity cache is, although during the video they have commented that it is L3 and I do not want to say anything but in the hotchip that we have neither infinity cache appears nor does it have RDNA2 clocks nor does it have L3 caches.

They just described RDNA2 in full and it just isn't what is in the hotchip we have.

Anyone else getting this message when submitting your Processing Unit serial number?

I read and basically says "well AMD is using the names as us because they use DirectX" because Xbox is not
mentioning Infinite cache in any place and please don't tell me is not an essential part of RDNA 2 with those
high clocks.

Basically any feature you see in one side exists in the other but only using another name.

I triggered someone with a green avatar.... good.

So I'd 2.23GHz PS5s game clock or boost clock? If it's the boost clock then the game clock will probably be around 2GHz.

Anyone know he TFs for the PS5 at 2GHz? Just speculating here.

Cerny made clear in his presentation and in the Eurogamer interview - the PS5 uses continuous boost.

So the boost clock is the game clock on PS5.

But to me - clock speed really misses the point. Sony has the power monitoring system - the clocks don’t matter as much as what is done during each clock cycle and the power for that.

So the way i understand it, Xbox went fully with AMD features and Sony stripped out what they did not want and added they own custom silicon to certain parts

Kind of same when nintendo used stock tegra X1 = custom would have been better option.

So, it is quite possible that "full rdna2 desktop feature set" is actually worse than custom one. On full rdna2 there is almost certainly parts that are not needed on consoles or could be replaced by more customized ones as system is closed.

Tl:dr full rdna2 could be the lazy option, not the best option

Not sure if this is new, looks like it was updated just recently, AMD highlighting their ray tracing method which is the same as what Cerny stated in the Road to PS5 talk, a specialised unit in the CU handling the intersections of rays.

Infinity cache probably isn’t in consoles because of price but also not needed because they are designed differently.

yep, its the standard R2dna, Sony have specialized or created silicone what they needed or wanted.

It's totally understandable like Handy fake said, direct x is pc and xbox so they would want those features to remain the same.

You could say Sony have specialized there version.

Nobody really has any clue either way.

"Customizations" are just that.. customizations. In the past that has sometimes meant advancements, and other times it's meant some cost cutting measure.

Let the games do the talking, and the developers.
