So I took Aaron Rodgers with the 10th overall pick in one of my leagues. Everyone says don't take a QB in the first, but the first 8 picks went something like this: Foster, Peterson, Charles, Vick, Rice, C Johnson, McCoy, Andre Johnson, Calvin Johnson.

At that point, the top tier RBs and best of the best WRs were gone. I had to decide whether to go with one of MJD, McFadden or Mendenhall, get the last god-tier receiver in Roddy White, or just go ahead and get possibly the best QB. So I went with Rodgers. Sure enough, Frank Gore made it back to me in the 2nd, and if his contract situation gets worked out, I don't think he'll be worse than the 3 RBs I named above. I got J. Best and B. Lloyd in the next few rounds.

What I'm wondering is: does a top 3 of MJD/Roddy White, Gore and a 3rd round QB like Brees outscore a lineup of Rodgers/Vick, Gore and Best? White can win you a game or two on his own, but it's highly likely that Rodgers/Vick will win you several games over the course of the season. IMO, there isn't a whole lot of difference between the bottom 1st tier RBs and the top 2nd tier ones. I don't think I made a mistake in not taking a RB, but a combo like White/Big Ben might have been better than Rodgers/Lloyd.

Waiting on a QB is better the smaller the league is. The diff. between a 1st Rd. Qb and an 7th Rd. Qb is not as much as a Receiver or RB in those same Rds. A combo of MJD, Nicks, Rivers or similiar players would be better than Rodgers,Best, Lloyd.

Packers run D gave up some big gains early with the 2-4-5, though one was an obvious hold on Bishop. The 2nd and short stop with Hawk, Bishop, and Raji completely blowing it up was brilliant, though.
