Rash of player injuries could dash Packer Super Bowl dreams. Most Super Bowl contenders stay healthy during the season and into the post season.

Is it just me or has Ben gotten fatter?

Well his primary exercise regiment of raping women, hiding evidence, and getting sacked has been pretty restricted as of late...

So I guess I shouldn't be surprised that he's out of shape.

So where do folks stand on post play celebrations? Either after a TD, Sack, monster tackle etc.?

I was at work today and a few of us got into heated discussion on the topic (yes we're bored:lol ). One guy was vehement on absolutely hating them and thinking they have no place in the game. Says they are "unprofressional" and these guys are at work etc. I made the point that when these guys are in the trenches, us fans likely don't hear 80% of the shit talking going on and considering how much emotion is part of the game - I think celebrations are well within reason as long as they are not excessive or done intentionally done to the face of the opposing teams player/players.

This person got alarmingly annoyed and asked "would you behave like that at work?" and I just didn't understand how someone could ask something so obtuse. As if my day time desk job was in some way shape or form comparable to what NFL players do in and out.

I'm a fan of class and being humble but at the same time, it's football and there's a place for some gloating and "rubbing it in" as it were. It's a competitive sport for god sakes!

I think they're fine but I think you have to be a huge dumbass to celebrate a big play against the Colts when they're on offense. *Cough* dunta robinson *cough* Manning will make you pay for it every time unless its a sack.

He actually lost a lot of weight. He hasn't looked this slim since his 2nd season.

And the only raping he is going to be doing from now on is on opposing defenses!

Celebrations should be encouraged. It's a freaking game and they make the game more entertaining. I don't understand why the NFL is so retarded about them. The Jared Allen thing is ridiculous.

There is nothing wrong with the majority of celebrations. Defenses have been getting out of hand with it when there are insane celebrations after you hit some1 who just went 8 yards. But people who complain about sack and TD celebrations are ridiculous. It is a game and it's fun to see the thatt players are having fun.

so should i accept this trade?

incoming
jermichael finley
kenneth darby

outgoing
justin forsett
brent celek

i got moeaki/bernard scott/donald brown in a 1qb/3wr/3rb/1TE/K/DEF league

only reason im still deciding is due to not having a reliable 3rd rb and theres slim pickings on the wire though i do have #1 priority...:lol

I don't have a problem with celebrations, as long as they don't get too excessive. The use of props took it WAY too far, for example.

Keeping that in mind, I think I like it most when the player hits the endzone, then just hands the ball to the official. IMO that says more than any dance or act ever could.

A few choice quotes from what I assume is the fourth quarter. And its worse when he is on primetime because more haters are watching.

Whats even funnier is that Manning did everything to win that game and the kick is in no way his fault, but he still gets some "manning face!!!"
I love Manning, but the whole "Manning face" is all in good fun for me. Never blamed him for the loss or anything like that because without him, that Colts team wouldn't win more than 5-6 games.

I like celebrations. I like team celebrations and choreographed dance moves. I agree that the props are stupid, but anything short of that is fair game to me.

The NFL is stupid to limit that sort of stuff. This isn't basketball where you score a basket every 30 seconds, it is not easy to score a TD and when a team does they should be allowed to celebrate for 30 seconds. Back when the Rams used to score TDs why would that little team celebration bother anyone? Now it is banned for some stupid reason.

The only people against this are old assholes who wish it was still 1950.

Oh my god, Bears are on the verge of signing Juice Williams as another backup QB. This cannot be good. :lol

The Eagles are supposeddly close to trading for Lynch from the Bills. I guess this means that McCoy's broken ribs are worse then was thought initially.

Define the word close.

I've heard they contacted the Bills, people I trust haven't indicated that a trade is imminent with either GB or Philly.

Definitely expect him to be traded, not sure when though.

Unless it's 3rd down, I think celebrating sacks is stupid too. Love watching Jared Allen rope 'em up then get torched for 20 yards.

Close was the word they used on TV so I have no idea how close they actually are. They did say that if a deal does happen it would be sooner rather then later since the coaches want him to practice with the O this week before he would play against the 9'ers. I just dont know what they would give up for a guy that might only start for 2 or 3 weeks.

It is ok to celebrate sacks (and it serves a purpose because it might distract the ref from the fact that you just touched the qb), but you look retarded when you celebrate a routine tackle or a first down (unless you play for the Bills, then it is ok to celebrate these "feats" because lets face it, that is probably as good as it is going to get).

Any celebration for a big hit/tackle when the receiver/running back/quarterback actually completed the play/got the first down.

Just in general, celebrations for anything less than a big stop are stupid. Best one was last year, I think it was someone on the Texans who laided one on Addai for no gain (or little gain). He got up and showboated and Manning caught them with their paints down.

Not cool. Hopefully Bigby will be fired up and actually be able to stay on the field. Next 2 weeks are going to be rough though. (particularly next week against the first proper QB we've seen all year)

Wait, the Eagles are getting Marshawn? What is Packers management doing? And how badly hurt is Pierre Thomas in NO?
Ted Thompson is probably doing what Ted Thompson usually does, e.g. not making any moves that would put his team over the top.

I'll gladly be wrong here, but...

45 more minutes. I should be sucking on my own balls.

Marshall is ranked 5th in receptions.

As long as the Fins stop Brady's 3rd down conversions and fuck up their horrible secondaries, then we should win.

Did you hear that Universal wants to make Bourne Legacy(Bourne 4) with or without Matt Damon.

Fucking sucks if he doesn't do it.

EDIT: Go Patriots!!!

I just saw Schefter's tweet, says they were close to trading him last week but didn't and may not because Bills want good compensation. What I find funny is how it took him a week to report on this supposedly "close" deal.

Frankly, it's hard to take what he or anyone else says about the team regarding personnel matters seriously, because even the Bills don't exactly have a laid out plan. They pull the craziest moves/stunts, shit no one sees coming.

Like I said, definitely expect him to be moved, not sure if it's this week or next.

True, it will be interesting to see how it shakes.
But at the same time I'm not too worried, the Skins aren't a long ball slangin' team.

As much as I'd like an explosive power RB (even though I love Kuhn like you and most Packer-GAF know), I'm pleased with Ted's frugality in these situations.
He's not going to blow a 2nd round draft pick on a back that may or may not work out at a position that typically doesn't have an extensive shelf life, especially when he's got Grant (eventually).

Our 2nd/3rd+ rounders have typically worked out better than our 1sts. Why gamble?

Because the draft isn't a crapshoot? This years draft doesn't seem that deep either. I generally understand where you're coming from though.

49ers release SS Michael Lewis

Damn, would've loved to have him for veteran depth. He didn't want to be demoted so instead he asks for his release. Bummer.

Taylor Mays future!

taylor mays looked awesome yesterday all things considered. team high in tackles, he was all over the field, and he scored a TD. he basically neutralized one of the best TE's in football. he did allow that final 3 yard completion to gonzo on 3rd down (they were already in fg range), but no one could've defended that considering the route and where the ball was placed.

good riddance michael lewis you slow fucking bum. i hope you go to an NFC west team so we can destroy you like you destroyed our pass defense. i love you taylor!

So what is all this talk about Brady not playing well in Miami, is there a statistical basis for it?
More of a factual and historical basis. Seeing as how you think Kolb is a good player I don't think it is something that would interest you.

Well the Pats lost 7 games against Miami, most in the division, so yeah.

However as always everything is just a prediction until the minute the game starts, so we will just have to wait and see :D

Man this game worries me as a Pats fan. If the Pats are down one or two touchdowns early it's game over. Brady has to have an A+ game tonight.

Well I trust the offense more than the D, so yeah offense has to do good and the D really needs to step up.
