Not sure if it was posted, but Matt Moore has been placed on season ending IR with a torn labrum.

Clausen is the man apparently.

Tony Pike and converted receiver Armanti Edwards also expected to get snaps. Quick, somebody get Testaverde on the phone! :lol

With Phillips out, I'm curious who takes over the defensive play calling duties. Pasqualoni?

She's tougher than Mike Jenkins so far this season so why not?:lol

I think I'm most stunned by how bad he's become this season after seeing him play some pretty damned impressive football last season.

I said it yesterday during the game, there's no way Wade left that game with his job intact. The team quit. Plain and simple.

They quit as soon as Tony Romo went out. But Giants fans didn't want to hear that the Cowboys quitting was part of the reason they won that game.

I may have been half-asleep when I heard this, is it true that Wade now gets paid for next year when he wouldn't have been paid if he stayed on the team and there was a lockout?

If so; well done, Wade. Well done.

Pike was my favorite QB in College, if dude would've stayed injury free he would've been a Top 10 pick for sure, he even played great with a cast on his arm. Too bad Cincy completely blew it against UF..

And I remember making fun of the Raiders/Cable when he said with a decent QB they'll make the playoffs for sure. So my apologies to him, I know they're not even close to the PO yet but they sure look a lot better than last year.

" Ed Werder reports Jason Garrett takes over as Dallas Cowboys Head Coach"

Im not sure if thats an upgrade or downgrade :lol :lol

It finally happened. Was expecting to hear the news this morning when I woke up. How about you find a GM to run the team, hotshot? Jerry is as guilty as anyone for how shitty this organization has been for the last 10+ years.

I don't know... they had a pretty good shot at the title like 3 years in a row, so he didn't do that much wrong. Sure they had a lot of luck that Romo turned out to be that great but still.

There needs to be a farewell "Wade Phillips_You Can't Do That.GIF." Anyone have that available?

They're going to fail either way. Then Jones will grab Lovie Smith next year as his new coach.

That needs to happen.

Giants would have beaten that ass if Romo got injured or didn't get injured. Cowboys got handed 10 points and did nothing else.

So I hear this a lot from fans but I'm curious - where has Jerry failed as the GM outside of arguably poor coaching decisions? As an outsider looking in and a fan of a divisional rival, I think Jerry has done a good job of getting some pretty good personnel and depth for the team over the years.

Mind you, this is a meltdown of epic proportions and part of it can be blamed on Jerry ignoring an aging offensive line but let's not forget that this same team under the same coaching staff was 11-5 and won a playoff game last year. As enjoyable as it is to see them fail, it's undeniable that they are full of talent at the skill positions and a good bit of that can be attributed to Jerry's involvement in the teams drafting decisions, no?

If I'm wrong on any of that, feel free to correct me Cowboys fans...

I've never had a problem with him as a GM, but I know he's the clown prince of owners.

I just realized: based on how the Browns have been playing, they could easily go 9-7 or even 10-6 by the end of the year. Crazy.
Lets not get crazy. They only beat the Pats, that doesn't mean you are elite or anything.

I will say though that if (sorry I should say WHEN) the Bungles lose tonight though they will have to cede the title of best team of Ohio to the Browns.

And the Raiders are starting to freak me out. Ben don't submit to whatever dark demon that vile franchise worships. You CANNOT go 0-3 to the fucking Oakland Raiders. It isn't 1975 anymore...

Boo-fucking-hoo. Like I said, someone sent it to me. I know the Dolphins suck and will continue to suck. Just being a realist as a fan when Henne throws 3 INT yesterday.

They should just put in Pennington and see what happens.

Being a realist involves making a joke about how long it's been for a franchise to win a ship when you are the fan of a team who hasn't won a ship in a longer period of time? And the Fins suck and will continue to suck because we've lost to, arguably, the four best teams in the AFC?

You're babbling.

On the defensive side, we're still living off a bunch of the guys drafted during the Parcells years (namely the epic 2005 draft) where Parcells and Steven Ireland found the talent.

Jerry has only been able to find guys at skill positions to go around our solid foundation. But this year, our core has been fucked, and Jerry doesn't know how to build it back up again. Everyone knew we needed to address the oline this offseason. But he does nothing. Everyone knew we need Safety help, but he does nothing. Instead he gets Dez (who's a BEAST), but players like that only work when we have a solid foundation in place.

Our oline was godly couple seasons ago, but these same guys got older, slower, weaker, and now we're suffering the effects of not having young guys able to compete for their jobs. Doug Free has been the only decent player.

edit- Jeff Ireland. Not sure why I said Steven Ireland.

That makes sense, thanks.

Oh shut the hell up. Henne has only one TD and 5 picks in the last three games. He's not a very consistent QB. If we see Henne continue on with the lows, then Henne will be benched. Henne is not an aggressive QB for a guy who's pretty big, and that's why the Raven's D dominated him.

Yeah. It seems like the Cowboys wasted their 1st round pick on glamour positions when they needed trench guys. (You clearly miss Flozell, for instance.) My question is, what the hell happened to the defense? It has to be coaching, as far as I know you didn't really lose anyone and your D was 9th last year.

Jones must be mad as hell. Opened a new stadium last year, Super Bowl coming to town, and I'll bet he was counting on the Cowboys representing the NFC.

they were good when Wade took over play calling, but then they just kept blitzing more and more it seemed.

I love how you swayed this into a Henne debate. We have a cake schedule and I want Henne in. If he just gets some poise he can be a great qb, I'm willing to take that chance on this cake second half schedule. Have you been watching the games btw? At least 3 of the picks aren't on Henne, 1 was an incomplete pass but in garbage time so we didn't challenge it ffs.

I'm going to Miami now will be down there a few days and staying with my grandma who has terrible internet so I won't be on to continue this stupid debate.

If Henne shits the bed in these upcoming few games I am fine with starting Pennington for the Jets -> Pats games and post-season, but if he does fine then keep him I say.

One thing all of Miami is forgetting is Pennington is coming off a surgery, we don't know what this version of him looks like. Injuries never stopped him before though.

Perhaps they overachieved. Sure there's pretty good guys like Ratliff and Ware, but everybody else is either underachieving badly, or just plain suck.

Underachievers:
Mike Jenkins, Terence Newman

Suck:
Keith Brooking, Bradie James, both Safeties

Both DE's are nothing special. They should have tried to resign Canty. Only thing Igor Olshansky has done for DAL is prancing around like he's done something while his defense was getting waxed.

Jerry Jones should go for the jugular and ask Bill Cowher to take over the Cowboys. He has nothing to lose.
Jerry Jones has already signed a secret pact in blood with Harbaugh for him to be the next head coach and bring Andrew Luck with him. Luck will wait patiently for one year until Romo is traded to Green Bay to be Rodger's backup for the rest of his life, achieving a boyhood dream to be on the team of the greatest QB in Packers history.
