NGC mag persists: Zelda will be Rev launch title

In the newest issue of Play, the editor says the "latest" gossip around the water cooler is a Zelda:TP/ Revolution launch earlier than expected.

I know this was brought up here once, a long time ago, but would nintendo push up the launch of the Revolution to August?

I thought the artwork and look of the characters was awful in Wind Waker. not at all Zelda-like. even the cartoonish Zelda of the 80s artwork from the first games.

technically Wind Waker had awesome animation, and very stylized look, but it was not right for Zelda. the game itself was not epic enough. too short, too easy. not satisfying. WW's not so spectacular sales worldwide tend to agree with that. I expect Twilight Princess to sell far better and be the best selling Gamecube game as well as to help push Revolutions.

can you provide a quote? I believe ya, I just want to read it.

my greatest fear (and many of you have this fear yourselves) is that Zelda TP has become a cel-shaded Revolution-only game or a cel-shaded GCN/REV hybrid, that bares little resembalance to the GCN trailers of 2004 and 2005.

I can't find a freaking transcript of the interview for the life of me, but here's the entire video interview... http://www.g4tv.com/videos/index.html?video_key=9569

My greatest fear is that the already released zelda media is actually based on rev texture/poly assets.

Nintendo (Iwata, Miyamoto, Aonuma, Reggy,...) has always stated Zelda was going to be released on GameCube, and on GameCube alone (with Revolution BC). Please accept this fact, unless there are indications from Nintendo themselves that it won't come to GameCube. We'll see the near finished game at E3, isn't that wonderfull?

That would be the greatest thing ever. I'm dying to play the new system and zelda, November...or August can't come soon enough!

You know, it could be something along the lines of Rev releasing early to coincide with the GC release of TP (which is like a Rev release for TP due to timing) and then the other scheduled Rev games will make their way out in the fall as planned. It would really be great if Zelda launched in the summer. Even if the Rev release was somewhat limited due to early release, people could still enjoy Zelda on the Cube since it is a Cube game if they didn't manage to get a Rev, and if they did they would be able to play it differently.
