I am utterly amazed by tonight. I just got home and it was, quite frankly, the most harrowing and beautiful thing I've ever seen. A mosh pit of 1000 people literally jumped in sync near a ute (pickup truck) that had a plastic bear in a cage (and bruins helmet and black and gold tutu). I spoke to a BC born and bred gentleman who's been waiting for the Stanley Cup since he was 5 years old. I hi-5d so many people, so much more than before, that my arms still can't feel themselves yet are in control enough to do normal motor function. I energised every pitch of area I was in with cheers, hoots, yee-haws and everything my body and vocals could muster just so I energise everybody into some form of interaction with me.

Muslim, European, Parents, Jock, Douchebag, Homeless, Small children... It didn't matter who you were, if you had a grin on your face and were wearing blue and green... You had a mutual love with all around you. A unity unlike anything I've ever seen before.

John Lennon once spoke of a world where it didn't matter who you were or what your social status was, you were accepted, loved and embraced - if only for a second or five. And tonight I saw the true embodiment of what he was implying.

Vancouver - I love you, and this is my #1 reason why and why I believe you deserve what your team has strived for.

*tear*

Amen brother

Fear not Bruins fans, what do you get when you cross these two players?

And now we know.

As a side note, my wife had been teasing me all week about something she had scheduled for me that afternoon. I had just figured it was sexy sexy time, but it ended up being a tour of a Labatt brewery. I thought that was highly coincidental coming off the heels of the beer conversation in here.

Edit: Also, great goddamned game. I'm glad I didn't see the beginning though, looked like some dodgy officiating. Would have been screaming like a crazy person at my television.

Just you wait. My man Kabs is going to take after his big bro Frantisek and scoring the Cup-clinching goal in Game 7... Book It™

Yeah, this.

And Dastardly, you can't tell me that last night didn't swing you a bit further away from the Ducks towards the Canucks. Has the Anaheim team ever provided you with such a memory/experience?

He has given up twelve goals in the last three games. That is the definition of arrogance.

Yeah, even as a Canuck fan I raised my eyebrow at that little remark. Canucks should shut the fuck up and concentrate on the next game instead of getting cocky about barely squeaking out a 1-0 win.

Still, I guess it's all about 'psyching' out the other team and all that jazz. "Steeeve Perry... Steeeeeeeve Perry. I should'da been gooooone..... looooooong time agoo!"

Not that I feel bad for Thomas, his bullshit style of "oh! I can come anywhere on the ice and plow into other players because I'm the goalie! Interference doesn't apply to me!" is a load of crap. Rag on him for that instead.

Yeah, being in the crease really shows how quick he is at moving all over the ice.

Sometimes people wonder why I hate the Canucks so much and don't think they shoud win the cup, well besides some of their fans (looks at Tabris). Some of their comments to the media these playoffs have just seemed classless and arrogant at times, maybe I'm just too used to the Wings seeming to always know when to say the right things during interviews, well most of the time at least. idk

Well I hope the Bruins can come back but the Canucks I think will take it, I just hope they win in Boston and not in Vancouver.

I know you're trolling as a knee-jerk reaction, but you know as well as I that Thomas likes to sit outside the blue paint more than most. Bit him in the ass a couple of times this series too, and helped him draw a most questionable penalty 2 games ago.

Ultimate bragging rights from the ultimate fan following a Canuck win on Monday.

Man, I wish Lucic still played with that kind of intensity.

I actually don't mind Tabris that much anymore, though. There are several other Canucks Retards who are somehow worse.

Holy Christ so Luongo says that it's an easy save for him, and admits that Thomas would make some saves that he wouldn't, BOTH TRUE, and you giant vaginas still find a way to bitch and moan.

Fucking suck it up already!

ya because Boston has never been known to make ignorant comments. I agree, the comment was a bit sassy, but don't try and cry foul towards the Canucks like their the only team that's been know to be cocky, especially when its coming from a Boston fan.
And really, it's barely even arrogant/cocky.

Let me put it this way. The Canucks have been racking their brains trying to beat Thomas. It isn't easy. He's an amazing goalie. They've identified really the one solid way to beat him - take advantage of how far he goes out in the paint. Still the Bruins clog up the area in front of the net and cut down passing lanes for cross-ice passes. So they knock it off the end boards, catch Thomas wandering, score a single goal, win in a shutout, and a reporter poses a question in such a way that Luongo should be sympathetic to him. So he speaks plainly (and yeah a bit 'sassily') and now people are whining about alleged arrogance. Come now, boys!

It's the Canucks dude, people will find every which way to hate on them. I tell you, some of these Boston fans are almost as bad as Calgary fans.

OOOOH sick burn. Who are you?

The comebacks from the Canucks fans leave a ton to be desired. Some of you still admit fault and bring stuff to the table. Linking a irrelevant video from previous series/decade or saying "BUT YER FROM BAWSTON" really leaves much to be desired from any sort of discussion.

Once I heard/saw Luongo's full comment (as opposed to just hearing that he had a "SICK BURN ON THOMAS!"), it really wasn't that bad. I know lots of people that are still pissed about it, but that's their deal. If I'm annoyed by anything from last night, it's that Lapierre scored the game winner. Let's face it, the Bruins are straight-up getting trolled by the Canucks.

It has to do with Luongo getting smacked terribly two straight games and then scraping together a 1-0 victory to follow. Of all the times he should be trying to act modest.

Give Thomas the same question, I doubt he would ever reply in that fashion.

True. I'm not saying Luongo should be killed or anything, it just sounds incredibly foolish and arrogant. Which goes back to my original post on reasons why Vancouver is disliked that much, those types of responses don't help their image nor does their style of play.

But yeah, we are getting trolled.

The canucks don't seem make themselves very likeable to anyone outside of vancouver, especially with some of the embellishments and other incidents caught on camera this series..

My favorite part of the radio today was someone calling Lapierre a "warrior" from taking such a hard stick shot and battling back to score the game winning goal. Hopefully he didn't lose a testicle.

Never have I heard of a goalie "scraping together" a shutout. You say that as if he should have had the Bruins at -2 goals or something.

And that's neither here nor there. Luongo is speaking the Plain Truth™, when prompted. Shame you can't handle it. Everything is a cheap slight in your eyes. It's ridiculous.

Well I'm not the only one to notice the comment. Everyone is ridiculous.

Canada must be weird. A 1-0 that can't be referred to as "scraping by with a victory"? In the states I wouldn't call 1-0 a blowout.

Doesn't really matter, Thomas is getting the Conn Smythe win or lose.

Who gives a shit what Luongoal thinks? Canucks/Canadian National Team win things in spite of him, not because of him.

Right. I'm sure you have some good, reasonable company.

Think. You were talking about Luongo, not the Canucks. You said "Luongo ... scraping together a 1-0 victory to follow". So you'd like him to start scoring goals?

Montreal Canadiens - 24 cups bitches

Nucks will need to win a few more before they can hang with the big boys, sorry

Good question. Usually nobody. But when two teams are in the finals and the media is breathing down everyone's throats and throwing out selected quotes it makes it very easy.

If the entire series were games like one, two, and five the comments stand out much less. It's the fact he just got the living snot beaten out of him the previous two games.

You are really stretching. Classless.

It's not Canada, it's Vancouver. It's a fanbase trying to pretend their goaltender is elite when he isn't Top 5 in GAA or Save% for the Playoffs.

I'm sorry I didn't give you any specifics on what I said, I would have thought you'd have enough smarts to figure that one out. Then again, you're a "BAWSTON" fan.

This is what I should have said, It wasn't the best comment to make considering the time and place, that better?

This, Original 6 Represent. Which means Boston badly needs to win.

If a goalie gets a 5-0 shutout or a 1-0 shutout, what's the difference in the goalie's performance? Some critical thinking. Try it.
I would say it's more foolish thinking on your end.

So basically I should factor the goalie like there are no skaters on the ice? I should call a 1-0 pitching duel, 94-95 basketball game, or a 3-6 football game a blowout now? No. All of those are examples of a team scraping by for a victory. I shouldn't have to even describe this. Even if I'm referring to the goalie, he is still a product of the entire team and outcome on the ice.

That's the bright side of a nucks win, thomas will still get the conn smythe and it makes luongo look bad as a result of continuing his trend of achieving success solely through coattail riding
