I'm gonna pretend Connolly didn't score that goal. Makes me sick that Connolly is the "hero" here given how unbelievably lazy he looked giving the puck away and causing a 3-on-1. It only turned into a 3-on-1 the other way because of a godly defensive play by Phaneuf.

Oh well. Attaboy Phaneuf.

Did you get a hot pretzel at the game? Man, I could really go for a hot pretzel right now loaded with mustard! Worst part about eating them at the games I find is getting stains on your sweater. Still, some people wear them proudly afterwards like damage to battle ready garment. Who else feels the same way?

I'm not even worried about the playoff spot. It doesn't seem like any other team wants it. I think Florida ends up on the outside and the Caps get home ice (:S)

Don't have Leafs TV, so I couldn't catch the game. Plus, I figured I was bad luck, so I didn't bother finding a stream.

edit: The guy who is interested in building that arena has only been talking about making it basketball specific. No word setting it up for multi-sport use. Now that's just as things are at the current time - I think Seattle city council would have a much easier time selling the idea of a new arena to the public (one way or another, tax revenue is going to be spent on this) with the dual carrots of a NBA and a NHL team.

Heck, all the sports and talk shows on the radio up here have been gushing more about hockey coming up than basketball.
 
Does anyone have a clip of the Marchand hit? By far my most hated player in the league too, not just because of last season's Stanley Cup final. Dude's just got way too many dirty hits and too much douchy behaviour in his record.

Not as bad as his hit against Salo, but still dirty as hell and he's going to seriously injure someone soon, seriously fuck him what a rat, and Subban went to hit him and he did it again, and Boston fans say Hab players are a bunch of pussies, he can't even take a clean hit.

And I don't even hate him that much, but first Salo(the only nuck i like) and now Emelin(favorite hab):(

I think it's worse, now he can't even blame it on thinking that the other guy will give him a hit(albeit clean).

And I get that Salo didn't try to hit him but atleast he was approaching him and he might have misunderstood it

Sooo... Calgary will be 9th in the West and Habs will be 9th in the east in the end, yes? yes?

EDIT: also, Wisnievski has 4 points in 3 games for Columbus since he's back from a broken foot, not too shaby.
 
I really don't see Montreal getting that high up in the standings. I could see Toronto in 9th, though... definitely. Canadian teams are perennial 9th place finishers. And when we do make the playoffs, we've become very good at losing in the Final.
 
Filthy hit by Marchand.

However, the Habs are honestly starting to contend with Detroit for my most hated team. Anyone who cheers someone taking a slapshot to the face should have a frontal lobotomy and should be removed from the gene pool.
 
Every time a player gets a puck to the face, I instantly think of Malhotra. It's just a matter of inches. Could be a bruise, a few lost teeth, or losing vision in an eye. Habs fans were blinded stupid by their hate for Chara, I guess. Pardon the pun.
 
Mandatory visors.

There shouldn't be an excuse. Maybe let the current players grandfather through visorless helmets, but every new player in the league has to wear one.

Agreed.
 
I think they're becoming more common the younger the player is. I don't think the NHL is willing to require that a rookie wear a visor when he's gone his entire career without one. They've got the same argument as anyone else. They'll just be phased in as youth leagues encourage or mandate them.

Don't all minor league hockey require visors anyways? I've never seen a rookie player outside of 4th liners who don't wear visors.
