Lmao. Twice for HFBoards. Because that's where the most rational hockey fans are, right?

Ah well. I personally don't get all the hate for Subban. He does get a lot of shit others don't for identical offenses. And let's be honest--for some people, it is because he's black. I personally don't care. I think that he's a good young defenseman. He does some stupid things, but so does everyone else. Stop crying about it, you know?

It definitely is because he is different then your regular NHL player. He is very charismatic, has a personality and is outgoing. Plus yeah throw in that he's black and I'm sure it irks a lot of people.

So it seems Tampa is officially sellers then, so Martin St. Louis to Detroit for Ericsson? :p

Hope Pavel has a quick recovery. Looking forward to the game on Thursday. I can't believe this Detroit team. The way they are going along and still 20M under the cap. Holland is a master beyond masters.

Well according to Socreges early on, he said Detroit was declining because we weren't getting as many points and not going deep in the playoffs like we had been (or I believe he had a post saying that, I'm not going to go look it up to prove a point here). Of course now Datsyuk is out so that is going to stop us from getting a few crucial wins here but I still think we will pass the number of points we had last year.

Ted Leonsis, the Caps GM, is getting a little more surly in his blog lately, too. It's weird, considering he usually tries to sugarcoat the shit out of any failures the Caps experience.

"That was the worst game of the season; we came up small when we needed to come up big and win a game on the road. Another wasted opportunity to get two points and move up in the standings. An unacceptable performance – a 5 to 0 loss."

He's actually the owner.

how it must feel to be quincey right now

"you've been traded to tampa!"

*5 minutes later*

"you've been traded to detroit!"

Welcome home Quincey! My friend has been raging over losing Quincey since we decided to keep Meech over him. He'll be so happy to have him back now.

So what's the Downie deal? He maybe a shithead, but at least he can skate. One of the better pests in the league.

Quincey just isn't the offensive d-man Avs expected. Still quite valuable in a lesser role.

Good trade for Detroit and Colorado (Duchene and Downie played together at juniors) but I seriously don't get it from a Tampa perspective. are you rebuilding or retooling? Downie for a 25-30th pick is kind of crappy for an already proven 20 goal pest thats hard to play against for a prospect that might or maybe not make it 3-4 years from now.

I love a good 3-way. But Downie in our conference? Noooo thankyou.

At least this way the Ducks don't have to play against him today...

Subban said:
"Sometimes things are going to happen on every team [about the fight Subban had with teammate Tomas Plekanec in a January practice]. If I played in Anaheim, you wouldn't even have known because nobody cares what's going on in their practices. I'm great friends with Tomas. It's all part of being a team. I'm still a young guy. You're going to make mistakes, learn from them and move on."

Cheap shot, PK! :(

Duchene played for Brampton.

I assume that example is more the Cherry Bruins bias, but too be honest to pretend that him being one of the few black guys in the game doesn't influence some peoples opinions of him is just as ridiculous as saying all the hate towards him is due to racism.

Because he's been turning dirty lately. I don't know get's praised for dirty hits/slewfoots.

Here's the official report on NHL.com:

In a pre-trade deadline flurry of activity Tuesday afternoon, defenseman Kyle Quincey was traded from the Colorado Avalanche to the Tampa Bay Lightning for forward Steve Downie, then promptly moved on to the Detroit Red Wings for minor-league defenseman Sebastien Piche a first-round pick in the 2012 NHL Draft.

I'm not sure how I feel about this. I doesn't really disrupt anything I suppose.

I've never been clear on one thing, what the hell is "future considerations".. Is it a bit like "Oh yeah I remember that time you gave us a prospect! Well in that case, our demands in this trade will be slightly more simpler instead of asking for a package"...

Like, how do you judge a 'future considerations' payoff exactly?

Cheap shot indeed...

Anyways, Devante in for Parros tonight. According to Bruce during an interview at practice that no one cares about.

"Little gem here: It was Yzerman who made this happen. COL didn’t want what Det offered directly, so Yzerman (TB) got Quincey having pre-arranged what DET would give TB."

yzerman still thinking of us after all. what a guy.

About Quincey.
i don't think detroit is all that worried about someone like quincey coming in and messing with their room...especially considering that he's already been there.

Where did you get the quote from? Avs didn't want what you gave the lightning?

So good to hear. Parros did his part last night, and it's great to have DSP back. Been out since World Juniors, faaaark. Dude needs some serious ice time catchup.

They're conditionals. Just like "If Boston Makes the Cup Final, Toronto gets a 2nd in 2011". They are just less specific. Kris Draper was traded for $1. It could be anything.

Desperately need some wingers, especially ones that play with an edge.

Plus they make room for some of their better defensive prospects.

No, it's another shitty forward that can't score that they have barrels of. Plus their D sucks dick enough, I can't see how shipping off Quincey is a benefit. Their defense has been terrible.

God DAMN that's vague. Would love to hear the details of the most ridiculous 'future considerations trade known to man'.

That Draper for $1 sounds up there though.

Wait, WTF just happened? We got Quincey again for a first? Seems steep for a guy we waived along time ago... :/

And lol at him going to Tampa only to be traded right around to Detroit, nice of Stevie to do that with COL not wanting what we were offering them.
