Goddamnit. Martin Havlat of the Sharks out ANOTHER 6-8 weeks following hamstring surgery. Fucking bust of the season IMO. Kinda wish we still had Heatley now instead of Havlat.

So I think I realize now what is going on, with Quincey now back on the Wings, we have 8 D right now. So my guess is that Kindl is possibly packaged up with a prospect and or another pick for a top 6 rental player. Then in about 4 years we trade our 1st round pick and a guy who will never play for the big club to get Kindl again, IT ALL MAKES SENSE NOW!!

Happy about the Quincey trade. WELCOME DOWNIE.

So how has Quincey done for you guys since he left the Wings?

Pleks is out with the flew, Desharnais has been battling the flu the last week and Cole has a nagging leg problem so it shouldn't be too difficult.
Good, I'm hoping the Habs land the 3rd and Edmonton drafts Murray, so that they can pick Grigorenko. Hopefully they're not fucked over by the draft lottery.

Seeing the way this season has been going I don't see how we don't get fucked over by the draft lottery.

Also a possibility of him replacing Stuart next year in the top 4.

Yeah, idk, we do need more stay at home defensemen like Stuart though. I guess Holland is also still looking for a depth forward as per the Mlive story, I expect one more move by Holland before the deadline is here.

Fucking glass bitch. There goes any Cup hopes this season, top 6 ain't complete unless DW makes a trade.

Actually it appears to be false, horrible reporting. Dude is still made of glass though.

Wait, WTF just happened? We got Quincey again for a first? Seems steep for a guy we waived along time ago... :/

And lol at him going to Tampa only to be traded right around to Detroit, nice of Stevie to do that with COL not wanting what we were offering them.

Not getting this trade at all. Unless he's much better than Kindl it seems like a waste.

Cup hope was evident early in the season after seeing what the 2nd-4th forward lines were going to be :\

Seriously though, I hope the Sharks pull off the biggest troll in organization history or some shit. They played fucking insane last season after the All Star break up until the playoff loss. Granted 1/4 of the team changed, but still!

unless I'm reading it wrong, as of today: http://www.nhl.com/ice/preview.htm?id=2011020888&navid=sb:preview

That is the thing, apparently he is better than Kindl, I haven't seen him develop since he was claimed from waivers, however Kindl has struggled recently and I think bringing in Quincey, who is only an RFA after this year is a good move that improves the D. Also if like SpacLock said, it could be a Stuart replacement though I don't know if I like that. Even so I doubt he would make any more next year than this year, also he won't get really much of a raise if it goes to arbitration.

If another team puts an offer sheet out, we would most likely get a 1st and a 3rd back if we let him walk which makes up for this trade and getting rid of a 1st in a weaker draft. So overall a rather smart move by Holland, though we have to wait and see how he plays for us until we can come to a conclusion on this deal. Losing the 1st is the bad thing but I guess we shall wait and see.

2nd line is great, Couture just keeps improving.

Also this seems to be bad reporting, still expected back in March with Sheppard(lol). Not that it matters much, Burns just really started getting used to the system and Havlat has played like 15 games for us. Second round loss, calling it.

Next season Wings D

Suter/White
Quincey/Kronwall
Ericsson/Smith
Kindl

I guess the Lightning are in full sell mode. They still don't have a goalie though.

Maybe Yzerman will use some of the draft picks he's hoarding to get a Schenider/Bernier type at the draft. Tampa has two first round picks and three seconds right now (plus a conditional 2012 or 2013 2nd from Florida).

Even better if Lids sticks around for a huge discount, I doubt that would happen (huge discount I mean, I think he stays but signs for 5 to 5.5) and we managed to get Suter, Would our D just be beastly then.

wilson let leafs work on speed by giving them a lower pace practice

wilson doesn't yet realize it's the passing that leafs need the most, but they never seem to work on it. It's like they are unleashing pucks that players can't receive.

Apparently Grabovski is seeking 5.5 million. I like the guy and all that but that price is simply unreasonable.

Everyone, meet your new captain of the Blue Jackets/Panthers/Islanders. To put another layer of perspective on his demands, he has just 4 more points this year than Bozak, and has played 3 more games. I can't imagine Bozak even farting at that kind of salary request.

So no worse than the rest of the team.... :/

He was one of our biggest problems last season, and he started two seasons ago the same way he started this season - with a good amount of point production. Quincey gets burnt out midway through the year and stops playing defense. Besides, we had a serious problem with having too many damned defensemen and that never gave our big prospects in Eliott and Barrie much opportunity to play. Eliott is twice the defensemen Quincey is already. Now we have a reasonably capable winger to play with our reasonably capable centers.

Edit: Now if only we could sucker someone into taking Stastny.
