Hey man, Del Zotto has 2 seasons under his belt already, and this is Gardiner's first. Let us enjoy having a not-awful defenseman in peace.

My trade-able Leafs list is short: Schenn. I think he's a guy we could move for something valuable in return and not have a hard time replacing.
I agree with this. As much as I want Schenn to turn into the shutdown defenceman he was projected as, he just hasn't developed much yet.

I do see the potential for Kadri to look like a 40 year old lesbian when he is a 50 year old man.

I'd love to have Dustin Brown on my team. The guy just screams Chris Drury (except he's a winger, not a center). I don't understand why would the Kings drop him. He's got a very good contract and seems like a heart and soul guy who produces.

Because he's not scoring or improving?

Dude, they got rid of Orr not too long ago as the resident goon (he was one of the better "resident goons" in the league) and just today got rid of the other 2 guys who had some toughness to them, though not as much as Orr (Boyce and Rosehill). What makes you think they're going to address this? Actions speak louder than words, my friend - they are the 3rd or second softest team in the league now.

Those guys can't play.

throwing it out there right now, I don't think Nash is traded at the deadline. Just a feeling I'm getting. Sather just said he's not feeling any pressure and if we fall short he can reassess in the offseason. Could be his typical "Negotiating through the media" but who knows. As long as plan B isn't someone like Hemsky.

They'll see what they have with Reimer to finish the season. He played good enough to win last night.

And people wonder why leafs "ice" such an average team. Dude's like a delusional leaf fan.

Ugh.

He played good enough? Good enough? Is that what you come to expect? For fuck sakes. Make up your mind. Either you think Reimer is the goalie for the leafs or he isn't.

You call me out most of the time, yet you spew some of the most ridiculous shit ever.

Lol at trading Grabovski..... You have got to be kidding me. Who are we going to get that can replace him?

Oh yeah, you fucking favorite Connolly?

I really miss Orr.

Well... I have a feeling if NYR pulls out, leafs may just do the deal now that brown is no longer on the table

yeah I have a feeling Nash won't be traded until the off season

I'm with you on that. I don't think Nash is being moved until the offseason.

I don't think the leafs should go after Nash, I mean I would love him on the leafs but taking into account the expiring cba that's coming up and the cap going down. I'm kind of weary because down the line, Nash's cap hit is going to kill us.

I really miss Orr.

Trade Grabovski if he's demanding 5 million a year. He's not worth that, sorry. Unless it's a two year deal or something.

Leafs lost last night because they couldn't score. Reimer saved every shot that was saveable.

I want Orr back too. I like Boyce too, to be honest. When the top two lines get shut down so easily I think they'll gamble with Connolly Lombardi and Crabb on the third to generate something.

The thing I don't get though is the notion that Howson will get more in the offseason than at the deadline. Is Boston gonna give up Rask just because it's the offseason? Toronto gonna change their minds on adding Gardiner? Whether its draft, trade deadline, arbor day, thanksgiving, ect the Rangers are never trading MDZ or McD for him. Maybe Van wants to deal Schneider for him in the offseason, but does he even want to go to Vancouver? I've read that he likes the travel schedule of the east and doesn't even want to go west. Sharks wouldn't trade Couture straight up for him.

He only has a certain amount of teams he wants to go to. He's not getting traded in division either.

Right now Howson's got the prettiest girl at the ball. At the draft/free agency, he doesn't. The teams on Nash's list will also be the ones after Parise and Suter, ect. What if Bobby Ryan is made available again? I'm not saying Howson should take a lowball offer for him, I just see them getting a significantly better package at the draft than at the deadline. I think he's gonna get a Young NHLer (Top 6/Top 4), 2 prospects and a pick (1st).

Actually kypreos says NYR and Toronto has their final offers on the table, if Columbus declines by tomorrow, Nash is not being touched

I would have to assume it is possible that the deals are quite equal at this point so if Columbus goes with anything, it will almost be a coin toss

Both NYR and Toronto have quite good prospect depth assuming that is what they are after, roster players are quite a bit more in NYR favor but one would assume blue jackets don't want what is now, but more what's up and coming

1) I don't think there are many good centres in the market if we trade Grabovski for us to go out and get. Then we would be lacking a 2nd line centre and as it is, we're really needing a 1st line centre.

2) I'm hoping Burke signs him at 4.5-.75 million. I'm really wishing here, because I think he's going to demand more. But we'll see.

3) If we do trade him, wha't his value? We are not going to get a decent package for him.

Leafs lost last night because they couldn't score. Reimer saved every shot that was saveable.

Doesn't change the fact that's he's a fucking average goalie at best. He's a back up at best.

I want Orr back too.

We agree on something.

I wonder who's Toronto giving up. I'm really curious. 1st + Kadri + Schenn + prospect <-- That's way of an over payment. I'm just putting it out there.

If the deals are equal and he'd accept both, it's up to Nash to decide. I know, from the NY Post, what NYR's offer is. It's low. It comes with a lot of potential but not much guarantee. Dubinsky, McIlrath, Thomas, 1st. Can't see them budging so I don't think Columbus will take it. Rangers have other irons in the fire and play on Monday so they need to be done pretty much by Sunday. Kinda glad to know either way by tonight/tomorrow and get this over with.

But they already have that in Brown. Who would you take out of the lineup to play Rosehill and Boyce?

The entire third and fourth lines? I mean certainly Armstrong doesn't deserve a spot, for example. And Brown's a middle-weight. He hits and works hard for the puck, but... He's not going to strike fear into some of the large large men in the league. I hate to quote Cherry, of all people, but you can't take a team into the finals and get crushed and have your goalies run etc etc.

A big tough guy has just as much of a role as a "face-off specialist" (eyes roll)

I assume leafs will throw schenn in the deal, cancels out dubinsky in value, will likely be the lower pieces and pick. Obv if same draft round leafs are potentially stronger- but I guess it could be conditional... Leafs in 2 weeks could be a lottery team and Burke probably wants to avoid another kessel trade repeat

Lol I'd hate to be howson

By the numbers, Dustin Brown has regressed considerably this year, but he could rediscover his scoring touch on another team. I was hoping he'd get it going again this year for the Kings, but it doesn't seem to be happening. I wouldn't want to trade him for a defenseman though.

schenn = dubinsky, Give slight edge to Leafs on that one though
prospects = prospects, maybe slight edge to rangers
guaranteed pick > conditional
Rangers > Leafs, as far as positioning currently

It's close.

But that's if Howson would except either of those

If you think my arguments are dumb why don't you quote me and tell me about it? Forgive me if I'm reading you incorrectly, but that's what it looks like you're saying here. And what have I said that was dumb? Kave_Man suggested I wanted to keep the youngsters and trade for better players. I don't. I just want to see Gardiner and Schenn have long careers in Toronto. And I'm wary of Nash's cap hit.

Well Boyce is less of a tough guy than Brown, so I don't see how he is the answer. Rosehill is certainly tougher, but he can't skate well enough to actually "hit" anyone and no one would fight him in the playoffs anyways. He gets what, 5 minutes of ice time a game when he plays?

I'm all for tough guys who can intimidate, but they need to be able to hold their own when not sent out to just goon it up. Unfortunately, Rosehill can't really do that. Orr was a bit better, but after he was knocked out he was never the same player again IMO.

Can someone explain to me what Hemsky does that makes him a 5 million dollar player? I mean, anyone can just look at his stats (which are complete shit), but maybe he's really good at rubbing the coach off or something.
