Columbus probably has the funniest official twitter feed.

He is literally gone. RT @OhioStateGeoff: @BlueJacketsNHL @JordanKaplan108 will Carter still be in line-up or is he literally gone?

That process has begun. RT @jillhbrandt: @BlueJacketsNHL Better take Jeff's picture off of your Twitter feed background!

No RT @PredsFan_303: @BlueJacketsNHL Will you trade us your Tim Horton's for a bag of pucks and Antti Pihlstrom?

Former Blue Jackets center RT @SuicidePass: @BlueJacketsNHL who's Jeff Carter?

Roster is full at 23 players RT @JoshSTrueblood: @BlueJacketsNHL is there an open spot on the roster? I'm willing to play tonight.

Sausage, egg and cheese biscuit with hashbrown and coffee from Tim Hortons RT @Skarem33: @BlueJacketsNHL what did you have for breakfast?

He's already making $4M+. It's not like they're doubling his salary or anything.
True. But they genuinely thought he was going to be a superstar when they signed him to that contract. And he hasn't been able to stay healthy. But I know that Edmonton really struggles to keep good players in town, so maybe it makes sense for them.

So apparently Kyle Quincey threw the entire Avalanche locker room under the bus in an interview he had after being traded. Then he went on to say he wasn't referencing any specific group, team or players when he said what he said. Not sure what it is about recent ex-Avs talking yang after they're traded, perhaps it is all a big fucking cesspool of negativity or maybe we're trading the negativity away. Either way, glad to have him gone. Hope he has a good run with Detroit - I'm sure that locker room won't put up with his shit if he is the self-centered guy he seems to be.

Edit: Although there was one good point he made. Specifically, not giving players the confidence of the organization by letting their RFA contracts hang over them all season long. Especially young players like O'Reilly and Duchene.

Pic from last night, after Detroit's streak ending. Discuss or place a caption.

"it's just so sad, look at them, they're so happy for a regular season win.. they've never won anything real *sob* "

This is most likely a big part of it.

Hjalmarsson had a setback with his concussion and Montador is possibly out for the season. That pretty much does it for Chicago this year.

Montreal has this really great puck moving defensman with rosy cheeks you most definitely will be interested in.

Why the fuck would they do that, Tabris II? Overpaying for a bunch of rentals in a lost season doesn't do the team any good.

Not even joking I read a rumor about 5 days ago that a couple teams were interested in Kabs, including Chicago, but seeing as how terrible he's been it's never going to happen, but it it did it would be a second Christmas for me.

Know what pisses me off the most about these 12-24 hour trade specials? The commercials leading up to it that's nothing but players saying "I had the TV on Sportsnet" or "I dunno, the TV was on Sportsnet and I heard about the trade," and it's the same damn clips every year.

If that happened, Stan Bowman would be abducted by an angry mob and burned at the stake.

So Anderson doesn't seem to be hurt as bad as originally thought, he'll be on the ice in a few days and then it'll depend on when he can hold the stick comfortably which will be sooner rather than later, I shit when I heard 6-8 weeks last night.

In the meantime we're playing Auld against Boston tomorrow night, so the Bruins get a free 2 points and whatever tiny/slim chance we had at the NE division lead is now a guaranteed zero.

No idea how Auld had a .914SV% with the Habs last year.

Oh well I have no right to complain about anything given how our season has been so far.

Check my edit... have you heard anything about that?

No matter what happens, its not going to be pretty

I've heard rumors of it. Bowman has supposedly asked about him but with Dallas still being in the hunt for a playoff spot, Bowman would have to overpay to get him. With Hammer and Monty both out for awhile, it makes more sense to just go after Burish when he's a UFA this summer. Burish would be a big help on the 4th line & PK though.

Gauthier has told GM's that Moen is not available, which I'm OK with, we would just need to replace him anyways, and he's perfect at what he does and brings veteran leadership to the team. Better to keep him then toss him unless PG gets blown away by an offer.

kaberle to blackhawks would be f'n great :D

why not trade him and resign back in summer?

without moen = less leadership in the dressing room = more chance of us getting #1 draft pick

if u r going to resign him, do it before trade deadline, if no deal can be reached, ship him out

Oh god. I hope the Canucks are seriously making a move for Brown. He'd be perfect playing with Kesler and Booth.

Connauton+Raymond and a first for Brown?

Although they're probably asking for Tanev+Hodgson+pick

I have a really hard time believing Raymond can get us anything.
Raymond's not terrible. At worst, he's a very defensively solid 3rd liner in this league, at best, he's a 2nd line winger. If you look at the numbers, he's still on pace to score roughly 15 goals through a 82 game season. Which has always been his pace. His 25 goal season was different because he had a lot of PP time and scored 8 PP goals.

I think a change of scenery would probably help him.

LA has a good chance of facing the Canucks in the playoffs, especially if they hope to make it past the first round. They'd only be diminishing their chances by sending him to the Canucks.

They'd better get on resigning him then because otherwise holding on to him for the rest of the season would make no sense. Then again, Gauthier could just be saying that to try and squeeze more out of teams.

True, they'll probably trade him to the East. But damn, I'd love him on this team, he'd be a great fit. He makes a lot more sense than Steve fucking Ott. They carry roughly the same cap, but Brown's lightyears better than Ott in every way. He hits, he scores, he provides leadership, hard-nosed grit and isn't a goddamn piece of shit.

A change of scenery and new linemates would probably do wonders for Raymond, but alone he is worth a third round pick, at best, if the other GM is drunk. Looping him in with some young players and picks isn't going to garner you much more.

Also keep in mind that we have to move a size-able contract if we're taking another one back this way, so regardless of what, we have to move either him or Ballard to free up cap space, and Raymond's much easier to move than Ballard.

List of what I think Canucks currently have in terms of trade-able assets:

Prospects:
Hodgson
Tanev
Lack
Connauton
Shroeder
Jensen

Roster players:
Schneider
Raymond
Ballard
Malhotra
Alberts
Sulzer

And of course picks.

Nit-picky, but I'd call Hodgson a "roster player" now.

Trading him for picks and then re-signing him would be the most ideal opportunity, but I don't think Gauthier has the moxy to pull that off. I agree though, if they don't resign him before Monday then they should trade him, but if Gauthier says he's not on the market then I would think he's close to signing him, but I have to remind myself this is Gauthier.

Staz came out and clarified that he didn't share his father's position. I posted about the Quincey nonsense earlier.

Edit: Funny way to spin this though. The Leafs will not end up with Stastny without severely overpaying, don't get excited.

We'll give you frattin and half a pizza!! The pizza is the next Gretzky!

Stastny was picked by Burke for the 2010 US Olympic team and was coached by Ron Wilson.

Much like Parise it is inevitable he will play for the Leafs.
