I know who he is - he was one of those people who had like 50 posts a day on GAF, but then moved to Twitter/Era after the exodus and wasted his time on there instead.Surprised you guys don't know considering his tweets are in a majority of threads when it came to rumors especially.
I'm sorry for this loss, the guy was a good source of news and he will be missed. If something, I think twitter has absolutely failed in making their creators monetize in the same way the other platforms do.
It's a shame someone can have millions of followers but still need to go somewhere else to make money.
Too bad, he was rather quick with posting video game news on Twitter

Seems like this has nothing to do with Musk. He's leaving Patreon as well

I thought when Twitter went big that reading and writing a whopping 160 characters at a time pretty much heralded "peak stupid." But in my shortsightedness, I had no idea that the next generation would somehow be even worse. At least 160 characters is still technically reading and writing. Now people think communication consists of dancing and lip-syncing on an app that tracks you on behalf of the Chinese government and are triggered by things like a "thumbs ups" emoji.Nobody young is using Twitter, brah. It's all ageing boomers and creaking millennials who think they're young.
Except for the paragraph where he basically blames Musk.
Take hope in the fact that even among their peer group the brain-fried TikTokers are looked down on. Think about it: 16 years old today are watching their dipshit parents make fools of themselves in front of the entire world.I thought when Twitter went big that reading and writing a whopping 160 characters at a time pretty much heralded "peak stupid." I really don't want to know what comes next![]()
You can be sure that shot is automated. Effortless income.Wario does the same thing but also posts a ton of deals with affiliate links, must actually be pretty lucrative.

Maybe he didn't agree to pay their new $20 per month charge for a blue tick.Probably why Twitter took away his blue checkmark
100% FACTS!End of an era. His account was a great source to get news quick along with Wario.
Even worse. Retweeting news. Seems everyone says the guy wasnt even a rumour digger, leaker or did his own articles. All he did was scrounge the net for the latest news bites and retweet."richest man in the world is childish" says guy trying to make a living off tweeting about video games![]()

That a guy whose only value was to basically just repost stuff from other media in a condensed way (tweet) and a lot of people caring about it, just shows how bad this industry needs a good simple gaming site that just gives its users a quick up to speed look at gaming related news without all the bloat journalist sites have on top of it.
Million dollar idea, yeah I know, if anyone wants to do it call me, I'll make the graphics for it. Don't miss on this hot deal!
I mean, you just gave the solution to the problem in your own post.Sort of a weird takeaway. People would rather digest information on a platform (Twitter) they use regularly rather than seeking out a dedicated website, no matter how simple the layout, for convenience alone. As a related example, I can't remember the last time I visited CAG, but I check Wario64's feed on the regular. It's also the only reason I use the platform. It's why these gaming websites have Twitter feeds and post their content in Youtube.

There's a reason most sites have a Twitter/TikTok/YouTube/etc account apart from their own platform.
The key here is not about the platform, it's about how they take on it, giving quick, simple and condensed info on the topics a person is interested in, in the platforms their regularly use, rather than the usual clickbaity title with a link to their site where the info is bloated in order to put their ads in between (same with video media, where a 5/10min video could be condensed to 30/60secs).
You didn't understand jack shit of what I've just said. It's ok thoNo. You are trying to get an audience to go somewhere they normally wouldn't instead of going where the audience already is.
He really doesn't though. He does say he doesn't trust Musk to provide good leadership for the platform, but also mentions that he doesn't think Twitter has ever had good leadership. What that hypothetical good leadership would actually involve isn't really addressed, of course. But the whole Musk thing really doesn't seem like the main reason he's leaving. It sounds like he just accepts his own inability to make some decent money from curating gaming news on twitter.Except for the paragraph where he basically blames Musk.
Twitter already has that. He was active enough with enough followers to make use of it, not Twitter's fault he never used it.He really doesn't though. His goodbye was a fair bit more nuanced than I expected. It also makes me wonder if Musk might end up creating a built in "tip jar" or allowing users to create their own private subscriber only areas on Twitter to compete with Patreon.
