Nick Calandra of the Escapist calls out Jason Schreier as a "gatekeeper" and "toxic". :D

Hate cancel culture but i'd like Jason to get a 12 month time out to reflect on how much of a massive cunt he is. His toxicity is widespread and it feels like he's embroiled in something negative every day. The Cannata stuff was really beyond the pale.

Following some of the threads off of this tweet to see what sparked this, Schrier's CD Projekt Red's crunch article has a lot of doubt around it and seems to have been the catalyst for this "call out". There's comments from some of the folk at Game Informer that the majority of the developers on the game opted for the crunch period, rather than delay the game, and thanks to Schrier's reporting, they didn't want to celebrate the game going gold.

But who will think of the gaming journo rage profiteers on the right side of history?!!?

They are too good for debates and conversations with uncivilized cretins!!!!!

Their points are so right and moral they have nothing to defend! Even if his article wasn't 100% accurate, his intent and agenda is 1,000% accurate!

(And they bring in all those sweet, sweet clicks for ad revenue from shock and outrage for their corporate overlords)

Debates are hatespeech. Open discussion is fascism.

As someone who identifies the media as having too many money-grabbing cherry picking shit-stirrers, I applaud anyone who wants to make that industry better.

what´s wrong with being a money-grabbing cherry picking shit-stirrer? Seems a desirable way to handle business for personal gains. And in the end it´s the way how humans interact with each other, looking fo individual gains. Of all the things one can critize about schreier, being the quoted is not a thing to critize.

What time is it?
It took somebody long enough to say the obvious. Glad he called out that condescending f*ck.

Jason was called out here during the Dragon's Crown incident. Posts from another forum surfaced where he talked shit about NeoGAF. His interactions with his audience have neve felt like they've been about community but more to shill self advertise to get more prestigious positions in games media or shill his book (pretty sure he was trying to work out a deal with EviLore EviLore ) prior to the exodus.

He's got a lot of contacts in the industry so he can get scoops, but he's always come off shady. /$0.02

edit: Dragon's Crown, not Dragon's Dogma

Jason always seems to have his finger on the block button when he receives any kind of criticism. So I'm sure he already has him blocked. But here's to.hopong the word still gets to him quickly. The CDPR stuff, the Canata stuff, the guy is a walking clickbait hack that has no concept of what should and shouldn't be said. All he cares about are clicks and attention. Doesn't really seem to stop and think about how it could affect people involved.

Jason Schrier is one of the nastiest people around. Not a shred of humility, loves himself to the moon and back, is a petty cunt, torches anyone who dares bring slightly more context into the equation, calls anyone who has a different take a "corporate shill", throws accusations left and right, and the icing on the cake is that he's absolutely worshipped by resetera. They see him as some kind of virtuous knight, instead of the blatantly self-promotional clown that he is.

Correct, I got blocked for just mentioning the word crunch in an unrelated tweet of his.
