lol welcome to mainstream pop music where any ass clown can sell trash music to the feel good crowd. Nicki is the same bullshit, different artist, could care less what superficial accolades she's received. she is salty because a 24 year old white Australian Hip-hop/Pop singer is stealing her thunder. intern Nicki feels the need to make statements about lyrical validity as if she has proven to be a competent lyricist, please.. Nicki's lyrics are about two pegs higher than Chief Keef's lyrics. Nicki makes mediocre music, she sells sex appeal and a catchy beat, thats all Iggy's doing too. she's salty because Iggy has a lot more marketability potential being a white girl in hiphop/pop genre, so she's throwing shade lol.

No she doesn't, she's garbage as fuck. Iggy doesn't know if she wants to be Australian when she spits or from ATL. The reason they're popular is because they're pretty and make catchy shit. As soon as they stop makin catchy shit is when their careers as rappers is over. Much like most artists that are currently popular as fuck.
Neither of them have been in the game long enough to produce pure shit that still wins them accolades (Jay-Z and the Blueprint 3 comes to mind)
With that stated ghostwriter or doin it themselves, Nicki has much better flow than Iggy, not surprising since Nicki has been doing it way longer.
If that'll help people rationalize then cool. Bottom line Nicki's career is anything but mediocre. Her album will go platinum, she'll go on tour and she'll make a bunch of money. Does she suck ass? Arguably so, but then again so do 2/3 of the most popular artists out right now.

Like, you don't even have to like Iggy's music, but homegirl went from the Middle of Nowhere in Australia (where there is little to nothing of a hip-hop scene), to saving up money from a part-time job to buy a one-way plane ticket to the US, flew out here at 17 by her motherfuckin self, stomped her way into the underground Hip Hop scene, banged out 3 mix tapes (the 1st and the 3rd actually being decent efforts), and now she has both the #1 AND the #2 single on Billboard. Look at God. Ain't he good?
If you can't respect ANYTHING about Iggy, at least respect The Hustle. Cuz she STAY grindin for hers. And maybe if Nicki did more of THAT and less showing off her fake ass on social media, she wouldn't already be passed her prime.

Dre has had songs written by tons of people ranging from Ice Cube and Snoop Dogg to Eminem. As far as I know he's never written his own songs or verses, but then he's known as a producer not a rapper so he gets away with it. There actually exist several Detox reference tracks that were ghostwritten for the album but never ended up being recorded by Dre, they are sung by people like T.I, Ludacris and Nino Bless but feature them referring to themselves as "The Doc" haha.

Ghostwriting is something that a lot of people don't consider 'real', but if you really think about it 'realness' doesn't exist anymore - at least not in the mainstream (did it ever exist there to begin with though?). A lot of what we see on stage, hear from the music and etc. is the exact opposite of real. Kanye and Dre use multiple people to work with them on their productions and almost every other rapper uses input from other rappers on their verses if you read booklets.
Iggy might have ghostwriters, and that might give her 'realness' a minus point. But I imagine that Nicki has something that hurts her realness. Those people are not alone - to me, I always see them as projects with a lot of people working on them including the name givers themselves.
It's all a business, fuck acting as if any of this is relevant to the grand scheme of things these days. People will still buy both.

mainstream music THRIVES on ghostwriting, many famous Pop/RnB/Rock/Country/Rap artists etc., all have famous and loved artist who simply have other talents that make the song their own, writing just inst one of them. different songs require different strengths, Whitney Houston was famous for singing songs other people wrote, her strength was her voice, not her ability to choose or write a hit song, that's what the record label is for. Nicki is bringing up an irrelevant requirement that isn't required in music, especially not her genre.
in my eyes Nicki is mediocre, her career regardless of her accolades and album sales is mediocre to me. i've never valued those things in validating artists. just because Nicki is successful doesn't mean she's not mediocre in every way.

Would be a surprise to me, seeing as Iggy's currently in a very public relationship with Nick Young, and before that was in a not-so-public-but-still-everyone-knew relationship with A$AP Rocky (even got his name tattooed on her finger. #OOP). And before that she was dating some FINE ASS dude from that DRUGS crew she was first recording with when she moved to LA.
So if old dude left his wife and family for Iggy, he was never more than her sideline dick...sucks for him.

I don't like Nicki but I have no problem admitting her grind has paid off and landed her an amazing career with her branching out and doing many different things that many upon many artists can't do.
Even outside of album sales and accolades, her career still wouldn't be considered mediocre by anyone rational. I'm willing to bet if we applied whatever it is you use to 'validate artists' then 99% of them have mediocre careers.
