Trailer confirmed for 29th. 12:30pm local time it seems.

seems from live event so not sure if we can watch it online from abroad...

Could we see the latest trailer on jeuxvideo?

I saw Yoko Taro provided a link for jeuxvideo, and he said the latest trailer will be shown there.

Love the character model, and the shading on the velvet fabric.

I think I'll go on an information blackout about this soon.

In all honesty, after the first proper trailer this might be true blackout territory for me.

Yeah, I'll probably hit "play" on that trailer and bail out after five seconds, and then go radio silence until release.

Yeah thanks, I saw this before but I was trying to find it in portrait view to use as a mobile wallpaper :P

Same here. For now, just cropped the landscape shot. Still looks pretty nice.

Holy shit, looks incredible! Even better than I expected. I NEED to see this is motion! Come on, S-E!

BASED, BASED YOSHIDA

I cannot wait until tomorrow morning.. This wasn't answered earlier but do we know if the show they are doing will be live streamed by Sqeenix Presents or something?

or are we just waiting for the aftermath?

Frame rate goal is 60. So the eye candy will be actually seeing it motion.

I haven't heard if it's 60 target. Still, I only cared for the overall experience in NieR, but now with Platinum on it I'm also going to look out for that in particular.

Looks so good.
Can't wait to see all those blades in action.
But i liked her way more without the covered eyes :(
And i really really hope all those landscape artwroks are actually explorable, i want more exploration and more variety than the original game.

Is the floating sword a Grimoire Weiss-like companion?

I'm looking at this, and I love it, but like there's a part of me that wishes it wasn't Yoshida. Not a knock on Yoshida and I look forward to anything he put's out but I just kinda preferred the art from the first game?

Who was the original artist?

I am reading complaints about the name of the sequel, but I am torn about. Even though it makes sense after understanding the events of NieR and its endings, it still kinda gives away a lot about the world. The latter brings up an interesting point about about NieR's charm: the game had a mysterious vibe that created an amazing and intriguing world. I am not sure whether the sequel can replicate that.

Judging from the art work, the game is probably related to ending "E" that is mentioned in Grimoire Nier where Kaine destroys the record tree that resets Replicants. I mean, if there was anything to happen after NieR, it must involve either Androids or some backup special Gestalt/replicant since normal Gestalts will replace after Shadowlord's death.

This looks AMAZING. Totally NieR-like:

Wow, the cover is incredible. I love the artworks for Nier, will definitely search for more stuff from this DK person. Thanks.

they also have a twitter account @dkground. I'll uh, not link directly to it since there's some nsfw stuff.

Five's personality is exactly what her design would imply...
Not really, she's incredibly pretty which is at odds with how disgusting she is inside.

It also makes her look slutty and stupid, and a short story revolving around her actually showed her as one of the best intoners for her people, she opened up trade routes, boosted business, treated her subjects with care and was actively learning how to be a better ruler. Unlike the other intoners who were given their roles and didn't do anything with it (or did horrible shit like
Four going on elf genocides or Three turning her subjects into meat puppets
)

Removed the link because scans, but this part is very interesting already:

It’s against the rules for them to have emotions

Assuming it's by no means a mistranslation, of course, it breaks from the usual trope a little bit by not having the "they're made without emotions but develop them anyway, making us question what it means to be human", but instead pretty much accounting for the possibility, or even just accepting it as a fact, but making it forbidden. They might be capable of having emotions, but since it's not their role, they won't be allowed to.

Even better! Thanks.

I wonder how
accord
is fitting into that, she clearly displays emotion. A 3rd Party maybe?

Just had a thought about the music and the whole android/replicant/human business. What if they had a more prominent use of Vocaloids in this game? In "The Wretched Automatons", Vocaloids were used as part of the beat of the song, and since this track is the only reference from the original game to the new title it could be interesting to see. No singer announced, just a Vocaloid made for Nier: Automata hinted to be based off Emi Evans. Then at a pivotal moment to introduce the human element, we get a human voice for the first time in the soundtrack. We could have two versions of each song, a Vocaloid and Evans. It'd be a neat way of incorporating the music into the narrative which I don't think has been done before either, at least not in this way.

Well, being against the rules means there's no real mechanical way to stop them from having, so she might just not give a shit. Or maybe there's no one left to enforce that rule on her.

Equillibrium.
