The LITS tour was so good. Probably will be less inventive. There's no way you can pay 6 dudes and tour with a high cost set in this economy.
Maybe he'll rejoin Guns and Rosies.

Even though everything is about the money, the lineup gives a vibe that it ain't about the money. Everyone who is in the lineup has been a friend of Trent or have performed in the past and would jump on the chance to perform live any given day. Alessandro also had a track credited to him in the new 'How To Destroy Angels' album. I expect them to start with small club venues with simpler projection-based sets and moving to amphitheaters with more craziness. Full-scale arena would be so godly though!
I think you should have also done "side quests" for Fixed and the other remix albums...a big part of my love for NIN was those. I was also a completist in hunting down all the Halos and various versions of songs. The Internet wasn't really around for this so I'd have to go to record stores to hunt these down or otherwise import them.

They only played "The King of Limbs" in their last tour so you didn't miss much (I believe). I saw them during "In Rainbows" tour and it was a snoozefest listening to "In Rainbows" tracks with two or so tracks from other albums clipped at the end.

YESSS. Can't wait. Saw them 6 or 7 times but was so mad I couldn't get tickets to the NYC show where they played TDS straight through. Not expecting that again but very happy nonetheless.
Huh? Radiohead was amazing last tour. They played lots of KOL and IR, yes. I happen to like those albums a lot...Bloom is incredible live. but they played a lot of other songs too.

Guess I missed out on it. I didn't go (I think because of the lackluster 'In Rainbows' tour? Don't remember
).They did not only play KOL on their last tour...I watched the Coachella and Bonnaroo live streams along with a bunch of other live videos from last year (Radiohead are my favorite band, NIN used to be but I think they will sit alongside each other for now). I love KOL (and it's fucking stellar live) AND In Rainbows.
Sorry to derail. NIN are awesome, but I wonder what's going to happen to HTDA? They're touring but it seems like Reznor and co. have had a bit of trouble stirring up interest in them.
I missed the Toronto show because of the stage collapse. =/

Simply not true.. I saw them last tour, it was amazing. Yeah its mostly post OK Computer, but anyone expecting The Bends songs to be played is crazy. Setlist statistics according to Setlist.fm for the show I saw:

In Rainbows tour was very boring though...
They did play "Everything In It's Right Place" so that made it happen!!Yeah, we rolled up in our car, saw news vans everywhere and a news chopper and was like "wow, all this for a concert?"...then we got to the parking entrance and the cops goes "show is canceled".
We thought they were fucking with us because we were from NY...lol
I got really into NIN in the past 2-3 years. I really hope they hit Indy. Also, I wish Brain and Robin were part of the band this time, but that's just the GNR fan in me, I guess. I never thought I'd get to see NIN live. I never thought I'd get to see GNR, either, but they showed up in Indy in 2011. He's hoping.
If you know what's good for you, you'll stay away from Axl.

I got a text from my friend saying "The show in cancelled". I thought she was fucking with me as well since she knew I was on my way to the show.
I actually got a call from Ticket Master while we were in Hamilton...but I didn't answer because I don't answer numbers I don't recognize and I didn't want to get charged for roaming. Turns out they were calling with the cancellation information. LOL.
It didn't even occur to me that could be the reason and we didn't listen to the radio on the drive up....we were listening to CDs.

You know what's the best part of nineinchnails? Almost all of their music is legally available online via streaming services or uploaded by TR himself.
LITS was my first time seeing them live, was lucky enough that the tour went to Orlando. Incredible show, and some of the stuff they did with the screen or w/e it was in front of them especially during tracks from ghosts made it an event I'll never forget.

Oh man, such greatness ahead. Give The Fragile time to sink in. It's not as immediate as some of the others, but the relationship you develop with it will be so sweet and long lasting.
I think Closer still has my favorite sound palette of any song ever. My first experience of it was the cassette single, I already knew some PHM/Broken songs from my sister and she bought it for me. I was actually scared of some of the sounds/lyrics in TDS at the time. Then I remember being blown away listening to it in 5.1 years later, after I thought I knew the album really well. And on the floor in madison square garden, hearing Closer's "tickticktickticktick" sounds incredibly loud as some sweaty fat disgusting man shoved my 110lb skinny ass into a mosh pit.
I wouldn't mind a NIN setlist without the staples I've seen live so many times, but it's been adequately long that I'll be on board no matter what they're playing. I can see them playing more of the quieter stuff like "all the love in the world" and "i'm looking forward to joining you, finally" based on Trent's recent works and the thought that he might not want to scream about fist fucking anymore.

Best explanation of The Fragile. It's the reason I got into nineinchnails. It catches you track by track.
I consider it to have the same replayability power as "Master of Puppets", except MoP can be heard as an entire album and falling in love with it, whereas The Fragile can be heard disc by disc. Replaying both in the first go can be too overwhelming and you have to fall in love with each track individually before you can jump to album. Live shows tend to help there.
Easily my favourite album of his and completely agree - whereas some other NIN albums sound like the product of the times they were made in, The Fragile still sounds fresh and contemporary.

It's funny, it definitely took me the longest of all of the albums to get into, but it ended up being my favorite album of all time by anyone. The flow from track to track is just amazing.

We drove down to LA (from Sacramento) to see the second-to-last show at the Wiltern (and to visit Disneyland for a few days). That whole last set ended up being rescheduled due to the flu. That show was rescheduled to be the last show. I had to fly down that morning, sell my wife's ticket to a guy on CL, see the show, and then fly back at 6am the next morning (after sleeping in the LAX terminal). At the time it was worth it because it was the LAST SHOW.
That said, I'll happily attend one of these even though they defile my memory just a little bit.

I find disc 1 of The Fragile to be NIN's finest work. I mean, that WHOLE sequence from "Somewhat Damaged" to "The Great Below" is just eargasmic (although you could say that "No, You Don't" is a bit weaker than the rest, but still). A textural, atmospheric, emotional journey that is unparalleled.
And I like disc 2 a bit less, even if it features some great songs. I just think it's a bit more unfocused, a bit less gripping, the melodies aren't as strong... but it is still essential to the feel of the album. The journey wouldn't be complete without disc 2.

There is going to be some seriously disappointed people when this tour kicks off. I highly doubt this is going to be a regular NIN experience.

Hoping they play a show somewhere relatively near me. Would love to see them. Would be my first NIN concert experience. I only really delved into Reznor's stuff within the past year or so. I still haven't listened to all of the NIN albums, but have dabbled in a lot of it.
It was a great show. Best show I've been to. But he has been AWFUL for the past year, I'll readily admit.
But I'm really hoping NIN comes to Indy.

I agree completely. I actually gravitated to disc 2 originally, but ended up falling completely in love with disc 1 over time.
Hell yes, I've been longing the opportunity to see them live again. Hoping for Trent to take a stop by Europe. Glad to see Alessandro Cortini returns as his live staple, it was a bit sad seeing him go after the Lights In The Sky Tour since he's my favorite "member" of the band. The dude needs to release a new SONOIO record!
Aside from that, I'm looking forward to new NIN material. I have to say though, Welcome Oblivion was a surprisingly great record which I actually liked a bit more than a deal of NIN albums. I was lukewarm about a few things that HTDA made at first but by the time I got to hear How Long, I was completely sold. What a fantastic track and album.
