Nintendo 3DS Games: what does this thing have?

Oh SNAP! You're right, those two take the cake so far. I wonder if the people who come up with those names are on drugs or something, because it's the only logical solution I can come up with that makes them sound remotely good.

I refuse to believe any amount of drugs would make Theatrhythm okay...but I got nothing.

Man, really want a 3DS but I can't help but shake the feeling that the second I buy one the revision is going to come out shortly after.

Any deals going on currently where I can buy a game and get one free? Maybe that'll put me over the edge.

Oh, and I did this:

scaled.php

Heh, glad I am not the only one who makes questionable Miis :).

I am starting to think I need another 3DS. I let my dad borrow mine a month ago with Tetris and Pushmo...and he's way too hooked for me to get it back without feeling guilty. He's 75 and I have never seen him enjoy videogames before now. It always amazes me how accessible most Nintendo stuff is.

Nice! :)

You can't use the CPP for regular 3DS games that use the R button (yeah I know)

I heard the Mario Kart Wheel is great though

Yes, CPP only works with games that are designed to use it :/.

It is; got me through 100+ hours of both Ocarina and SM3DL. There is no way I could have done that sans the grip.

Is there a place to see upcoming eshop releases? and anyone know how often it's updated? like every week? every other week?

Resident evil the mercenaries 3D is pretty good, bought it from a gaffer a week ago and having fun but yeah the no deleting save thing is awful.

Still good though, dat Barry :D

Whats the max SD card i can put in it? heading to best buy in a bit to get one.

Also any tips on cleaning the screens before putting screen protectors on? i tried using this little mirco fiber cloth but it still has some smears and i know if i put a screen on it with smears my OCD will go into overdrive and i will go bananas.

Either of these good?

SanDisk Ultra 32GB Secure Digital High Capacity (SDHC) UHS-I Class 10 Memory Card

SanDisk Ultra 16GB Secure Digital High Capacity (SDHC) UHS-I Class 10 Memory Card

I don't know anything about SD cards but they are $27/$17. and i don't want to spend more than $30 on a card, if the 16gb is good i will go with that since it's only $17 and i don't even have a gig worth of stuff yet so it should last me a good while.

^ I just bought an amazon basic class 10 32 GB SDHC. I plan on using it for downloading retail games and stuff off the eshop. I was told it would do fine and it cost about $25.

Brazil makes threads like this every month. The eShop is updated every Thursday.

The micro fiber cloth should pick up the oil smears. A can of compressed air is also helpful for blowing away dust.

Starting with NSMB2 in August and we don't know if it will be all or select retail games. So not yet.

i think they also confirmed at E3 that Luigi's Mansion and Paper Mario will be downloadable.

seems like they're going to be pursuing this fairly aggressively, for first party titles at least. i hope they dig into the back catalogue as well and put 'em up. Mario Tennis and Mario Kart would be great to have on the system at all times.

I'd love for Nintendo to add ds games to the eshop for like $15 a pop or something. I would download soooo many games!

So i decided to blow some more of my money on my account and got

Donkey Kong 94 (since it got so much praise)
Sakura Samurai
Dragon Quest Wars (i hear mixed things but i absolutely LOVE the DQ franchise and after watching some gameplay it looks like a fun game)
Bird Mania 3D (i love this type of game and it's only a couple of bucks and you get a bonus 20 club coins for getting it)

I have $14 left and i am thinking about getting either Castle of Magic and Zen Pinball or Shantae and Kirbys Block Ball.

Also is Starfox 3D worth it? i mistakenly pre-ordered the FF rhythm game and paying it off thinking it was something else and after watching some videos it is defiantly not a game i want so i am going to switch it and get StarFox or a different 3DS game.

How much is it? I'd say about $20 is a good price for it. One of my all-time favorites, but it's a damn short game.

Sadly it's still MSRP at GS.

When i cancel the pre-order ill have a little over $40 and after, around $80 if i cancel the pokemon game thats coming up in like a week (still debating, my DS lite has a fucked up bottom screen and i hear DS games on the 3DS is pretty shitty so i may cancel it and get something i can play now and when i get a DSI XL ill pick up the pokemon game)

So i can either get any 2 of these (only listed games that interest me)

$20
Harvest Moon: The Tale of Two Towns
Pac-Man & Galaga Dimensions
Cooking Mama 4
LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean
Bit.Trip Saga
Tetris Axis
Rayman 3DS
Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Shadow Wars

or one of these (same as above, only listing games i saw that look interesting)

LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes (pre-order)
SHIN MEGAMI TENSEI: DEVIL SURVIVOR OVERCLOCKED
Samurai Warriors Chronicles
Pokemon Rumble Blast

I won't be heading over there till around 3-4 so ill check back frequently while playing Tales of the Abyss to gauge some opinions on what to grab, also i just want to thank everyone who has been helping me out and informing me on things over the past 2 days, i know i have been asking a lot of stupid questions so thanks duders and dudettes.

So i just hit Platinum on my club nintento account, have no idea what it is or what it means but someone told me it resets this month and all gold/platinum members get a special gift? is platinum the highest?

I am excited to see what i get as a platinum. Also is it worth saving your coins? right now im tempted to get that Zelda poster set.

SMT Devil Survivor Overclocked is the only game I would recommend listed above.

Edit: I wrote up some impressions here
Defiantly will read it in a minute, DSO is a game that really interest me because i need more RPG/Strat games in my life, i recently got back into JRPGs and strategy RPGS this year and i pretty much have everything worth owning on the PSP in terms of RPG and now i wanna get all the DS/3DS stuff.

Got a second hand 3ds a couple of weeks ago and I'm pretty much loving it. Kid Icarus and Mario 3D Land are fantastic, I've got Pilotwings Resort but not tried it yet.

The only thing I don't like about it is the way NDS games are stretched on the screens, it makes them look slightly blurry. Oh well I'm sure I'll get used to it.

Pullblox and Mighty Switch Force are awesome too, any other good eShop recommendations.

Here my info if anyone would like to add me, I'll do the same in return:

Me too but a GAFer who is more technically astute than me [sorry, can't remember their username off the top of my head] told me that it's not quite as simple as them just putting them up. IIRC he said that they would actually have to emulate the DS games :/. Would be amazing to pick up DS games that are difficult to find and/or expensive now though.

Incidentally, have you managed to collect all the stationerys again? If you are missing any let me know and I'll send them over.

GR Shadow Wars is pretty great. It's usually really cheap and is definitely the best game from launch. The Ghost Recon asthetic is its biggest drawback, but the gameplay is great. Battles can sometimes feel a bit too long, but it's forgiveable.

I emailed Shin'en yesterday regarding a possible UK release date for Nano Assault. I just got my reply:

Shin'en said:
Nano Assault is definately coming to the UK. We are sorry for the long wait but its due to circumstances beyond our control. We expect the game to arrive in Q3/2012.

At least we know its coming. But what could those uncontrollable circumstances be?

Honestly I'd recommend to start playing what you already got instead of building such a huge backlog. Once you finish stuff you got, the other stuff will get cheaper.

From that list, only Ghost Recon and Devil Survivor are worth noting. Bit Trip runs like ass.

Start with Donkey Kong!

I'd think it would be publisher related.

Would the gameplay be suited to being upgraded to twin stick controls?

Im glad you got a reply. I tweeted to them, and emailed them and havent heard a peep. Im happy to know its coming, will definitely pick it up when it lands.

Werent there some major game breaking bugs in other releases? Maybe they were sorting those out, if my memory is correct.

July is going to be stacked for 3DS in North America.

3rd - Theatrhythm Final Fantasy
10th - Rhythm Thief
17th - Heroes of Ruin
31st - Kingdom Hearts 3D

Looking forward to all of them.

So I know Tales of the Abyss is like 8 years old now...but fuck its awesome.

Only about 8 hours in right now, and its pretty damn awesome. Everyone buy it!

Well, I got a solid 3 days out of Super Mario 3D Land. Pretty rad game, overall... though seriously, Nintendo needs to stop putting Luigi in these games. He's basically just a harder-to-control Mario.

But I'm finally done done. Like done so I can move on with my life.

Says a lot that I did everything in this game, because it's rare that I do. Last time I went all out with a platformer in terms of doing everything was the Klonoa remake on Wii... but anyway, I'm done!

And just in time for Lollipop Chainsaw tomorrow!

Thinking I'll just get KH:DDD, although I'm still not sure. That story bullshit really pisses me off. Its the 20th in the EU :)

Have KH preordered, probably going to be my only game of the month. So broke... T_T

It's a busy month for sure. Will probably pass KH3D, since I never played any game in the series. The others, I will wait a demo, or a really good price drop. In the end, I won't be playing any of these anytime soon, unless some magic happens and these games make a guest appearance at eShop. [mutter mode]That's what happens when you are a gamer in Brazil.[/mutter mode]

I'll pick up Rhythm Thief and Theatrhythm for sure. Finances are tight so I probably won't be getting them at launch though.

a great month full of bombas, I fear. TFF is the only one I can see meeting/exceeding expectations, because I think those expectations will be low, and it probably wasn't that costly to make.

Theatrhythm and Rhythm Thief are sure buys for me. Also Heroes of Ruin because all of its features make it quite attractive.

Probably skip on KH3D for a while since I don't care much for that series.

Kingdom Hearts is still pretty popular from what I gather, so I expect that to do pretty well. KH will likely be the only game I get at release next month, but I'll probably end up getting Theatrhythm down the road sometime.

I was pretty enamored with the game, too. Spent about 60 hours and 100-percented the game 3 times through...only got the sparklies on one file, though. Loved my time with game but I have retired it. Looking forward to the new 2D mario coming in august.

Picked up DSi version of Cave Story. Already have CS+ on Steam and generally found the added content didn't add much if anything to the game. My only complaint is A for jump, B to shoot. I usually like the B to jump/Y to shoot setup (always have to set it up that way in Super Metroid).

Beat RE Revelations, which I found to be a damn fun classic style RE vs the constant action of RE4/5. Also being able to dodge attacks was pretty sweet and Raid mode basically made RE into a excellent loot game.

Waiting for Kid Icarus from Gamefly to see how I do with the controls before I buy it.

Any recommendations on Kirby games outside of the Dreamland series? I'm looking at Superstar Ultra, but don't know if its platforming with a couple minigames (preferably) or more minigames and not enough platforming (not my thing).

There are 15 modes in Superstar Ultra, 8 of them are platforming, two of them are boss rush modes and 5 of them are minigames. The minigames are only throwaway things that you spend 5 or 10 minutes on each.

Any word yet on when the Heroes of Ruin demo will be coming to NA?

If this game is at least average I will be happy. I need something to quench my 3ds rig thirst.

Okay, that sounds good to me. Thanks for the info. :D

You should really take a good look at Kirby: Canvas Curse. Damn fun game.
