Nintendo 3DS Games: what does this thing have?

Mutant Mudds is crap by-the-numbers indie platformer. Avoid.
I liked it other than it was too hard for my tastes. I can safely say I'll never finish it, in fact I think I'm less than halfway through and I'm probably at my limit.

I hope in their next game they at least add some difficulty options.

So, thanks to my buddy WiiU, I'm pretty sure Paper Mario Sticker Star will be my only retail 3DS game for the rest of the year. Maybe Epic Mickey too.

I'm gonna have quite a bit to catch up on come 2013 :|

Wow, you just made me realize about the potential for Wii U to eat into 3DS's business.

They say most handheld gaming is done at home, so what happens when you have an alternative to your 3DS in the form of a Wii U tablet controller?

Guys, is Frogger 3D any good? I found it for real cheap, and it doesn't look bad at all from what I can see. Same with Pac-man & Galaga.

I wonder what will sell more, NSMB2+3DS or NSMBU+WiiU?

That will be very interesting to see, I think. 3DS will definitely have a bundle with the game, I'm sure, while WiiU will stand on it's own. I'm very curious of the outcome :o

Just picked all of these up for $30. Good deal IYO? I only wanted Mario for $20 but it's $30 if Pilotwings and Steel Diver are included.

My god, guys, why didn't anyone told me about this:

Fantasy Life TGS 2012 Trailer

It's fucking beautiful, amazing, charming, day fucking one, if this not comes, I'll just sell my OG NA 3DS and buy a JP XL.

It's like a mix of Professor Layton, Harvest Moon, Animal Crossing and even Mother.

Colour me hyped.

I'm in. This game looks beautiful and Brownie Brown ensures a serious level of love and care. 3DS... you keep surprising the fuck out of me!

I am strongly considering getting a JP 3DS for Bravely Default, Dragon Quest Slime, Terry's Wonderland 3D. There's also some other games coming out I'd like to get earlier too!

Getting Fire Emblem early would be sweet too. Any other good JP exclusive or early games?

Does it seem worth it for those things? I am just a bit on the fence.

I'm pretty sure we're getting Dragon Quest Monsters, we've gotten almost every single one of them and Nintendo is currently giving DQ a lot of love. But yeah, plenty of great games won't ever come to America and that blows. I want a JP 3DS too at some point.

The Fire Emblem or Dragon Quest 3DS Limited Editions are both pretty nice looking too. $500 seems steep though. Maybe a JP LL would make more sense? I am not sure.

I definitely want Bravely Default and Animal Crossing as soon as I can though.

What a shame

Any chance that 2013 will be brighter for 3DS localizations? AA5 and MonHun 3 Ultimate are nice starts I guess...

I'd say it's a given. We might see precisely stuff like Dragon Quest Monsters, Etrian Odyssey IV, Rune Factory 4 - just like it's confirmed we'll get Fire Emblem. You never know with Atlus, I could have swore Code of Princess would never leave Japan.

Yeah, that's very true.

Looking right now though at the JP 3DS they have:
  • Bravely Default (October)
  • Fire Emblem (Available Now)
  • Etrain Odyssey IV (Available Now)
  • DQ Terry's Monsters (Available Now)
  • DQ Slime 3 (Available Now)
  • Fantasy Life (Coming Next Year?)
  • SMT IV (Which if we get, won't be until 2014?)
  • Project X Zone (Looks interesting from a Fanboy Perspective)
  • E.X. Troopers (I don't own a PS3, nor do I want one)
  • MonHun 3 (Already Out)
  • MonHun 4 (Maybe NA will see it, but not for a long time I bet)

Those are the games I would like to get early and play now. Just not sure if it is a smart move.

I've got a US XL, so maybe a normal JP 3DS would be just right?

I don't know, it seems really worth it!

Pilotwings I doubt I'll ever play again, game is very mediocre and the 3D sucks

I have to disagree here, at least given the fact that you didn't explain your reasoning. I found Pilotwings to have some of the best 3D so far but I think that a lot of people are just thrown off by the character being way in front of where your eyes are focusing since it has such a far draw distance.

While I enjoy my Vita and wish it was doing better, I jumped on board the 3DS train where I feel more confident about it's long-term prospects (I've also been on a Nintendo kick lately, and SMT4 pushed me over the edge).

Grabbed the following:

3DS XL
Kid Icarus (controls are clicking, really like it)
Mario 3DLand (just plain FUN)
New Super Mario Bros 2 (kinda more of the same, not bad though)
Zelda OOT (surprised how much I'm digging this all over again)
Etrian Odyssey 3 (DS) (this is going to eat up many hours...)

Having traded in my DS Lite about 4 years ago, I've got a lot of catching up to do, especially with RPGs (DQ remakes among others). Still love my Vita also though. I'm in handheld heaven.

I don't feel like going to the store atm, what's the best digital game available for 3DS?

Pushmo if you enjoy puzzles.

VVVVVV (great music) and Mutant Mudds if you enjoy old style platformers.

Mighty Switch Force! (great music) is a great puzzle platformer if you're into trying for best times.

3D Classic Kirby's Adventure is the best 3D Classic.

Colors! 3D is a great drawing app.

Why does Nintendo treat America like shit?
It's a question that boggles the mind.

As far as VC goes, I've given up on NA eShop. At least the original 3DS output has been pretty good imo.

Why it can't be like Japan and we have both great original games and VC, I just don't know. :(

VVVVVV was pretty good. Not quite as hard as everyone makes it out to be, but good. Not sure if I'm gonna get the other 10 trinkets. Might get Pushmo next :O

Best bang for your buck has to be Colors 3D. Amazing the type of art you can create from the ground up with this handy little application. Granted, it's not a game, but if you have any interest in creating, sharing, or viewing other people's work (with step by step animation), then you owe it to yourself to grab it. It's like Photoshop Lite.

The Denpa Men demo is pretty cool. Very neat concept and you're able to transfer your demo progress to the full game when it comes out on 27/9. Nice!

I got a watermelon-lookin' motherfucker. So cool.

What do you guys think is more likely to help someone who is trying to get into art like myself, Art Academy or Colors 3D? (I know AA is kind of the obvious choice but colors is much cheaper)

AA will teach you art, and Colors 3D will let you express it.

So AA first, then Colors 3D. :)

Still very confused on this.

If I buy another 3DS with ambassador games on it, when I transfer those games to my current 3DS, will it leave everything on my 3DS basically untouched or will it mess with anything?
