While I still agree with this, I believe you meant FF13.FF10&12 >>>>>>>>>> FF3

Viewtiful Joe 1+2, Resident Evil remake, Ikaruga, Wind Waker, Twilight Princess, F-Zero GX, Eternal Darkness, Killer7, Metroid Prime 1+2, Pikmin 1+2, WaveRace, Resident Evil 4, Alien Hominid not good enough for you?
I own more GameCube games than Wii and N64 combined.

And yes, it does seem like a pretty obvious shift that Nintendo published Eternal Darkness globally and not Xenoblade. Especially when, as you said, an English version exists.
Also, if you love games like Xenoblade, how you can you defend 2011's Nintendo when there are so many more games *like* (deep, original, core-centric) Xenoblade on other systems.

Didn't most of those 360/PS3 JRPG's bomb in sales in North America?theBishop said:I don't care that much to be honest. The last thing I'd expect to be accused of is "Gamecube Defender". Compared to NES/SNES/N64, they're both really sad systems in my opinion.

FFXIII did well, Tales of Vesperia did decent, everything else either bombed or had a niche publisher and unsurprisingly niche sales.rpmurphy said:Didn't most of those 360/PS3 JRPG's bomb in sales in North America?
Your right, I worded it wrong.Icanplaythat said:I defy you to quote me saying Nintendo software/games are bad. I will Paypal you monies.
How did Xenoblade sell in North America? And what does it have to do with anyone's enjoyment?rpmurphy said:Didn't most of those 360/PS3 JRPG's bomb in sales in North America?
superbank said:Erm... it sounds like you don't understand the pointer. You're supposed to have it in your lap and you just move your wrist a little. It doesn't matter that the remote isn't pointing directly at the position on the tv. If you're playing it right you're paying attention to where it is on the screen not off the screen. Like a mouse.
You could also then ask Namco why they never brought Tales of Graces to NA on the Wii. Surely, Tales fans and people who enjoyed ToS2 would have liked the game, right? At the end of the day, they're a business, and JRPG sales in the West have declined overall, perhaps to a point where very few of them are viable considering the significant localization costs compared to other genres.theBishop said:How did Xenoblade sell in North America? You said, "Pikmin 1&2 > All other first party Wii games", then, you went to follow up and say "Of those games I only played FZ:GX and I hated it."
Of Wii First Party Games, this includes...
Mario Kart Wii, Super Mario Galaxy, Super Mario Galaxy 2, Super Mario Bros Wii, Kirby Epic Yarn, Donkey Kong Country Returns, Xenoblade, Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn, Super Smash Brothers Brawl, Batallion Wars 2, Wii Sports, Sin and Punishment 2, Endless Ocean 1 and 2, Punchout, Excite Truck, Excite Bike, Last Story, Tower of Pandora.
This leaves the Wii the following first party games.
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, WarioWare: Smooth Moves, Super Paper Mario, Mario Party 8, Big Brain Academy: Wii Degree, Pokémon Battle Revolution, Mario Strikers Charged, Metroid Prime 3 and Trilogy, Donkey Kong Barrel Blast, Link's Crossbow Training, Wii Fit and Wii Fit Plus, Wario Land: The Shake Dimension, Wii Music, Animal Crossing: City Folk, Disaster: Day of Crisis, New Play Control Line, Punch-Out!!, Wii Sports Resort, PokéPark Wii: Pikachu's Adventure, Metroid: Other M, Wii Party, FlingSmash, Mario Sports Mix, Wii Play Motion.
So, which of those games did you actually play? You are trying to tell us Pikmin is better then all of them, so I would assume you would have actually played some of them.
Drkirby said:Also, having actually played Xenoblade, I think the only comparable games to it are MMOs and Final Fantasy XII. It is a pretty unique game.
I really don't think so, the problem is you are looking at stuff like the NES and Super Nintendo in Retrospect, while the Wii you are looking at it while it is currently in production.AlexSmash said:Super Mario Galaxy is the pinnacle of what Nintendo ever did.
I hope Skyward Sword will have the same fate.
My only thought is that great Nintendo games became rarer.

Well I don't know what to say. I found it extremely easy to adjust where I have to point for the sensor to see the remote. I can move to a different couch and continue playing without thinking about it. I also found it easy to look only at the screen and not worry that the remote, in my lap in my peripheral vision, does not match up exactly with where I'm pointing on the screen.Icanplaythat said:That's what I did, but it was still in my range of vision, where as I can't really see my mouse when using the PC. Not to mention with the mouse there is no awareness of where the laser/eye is; as apposed to the Wiimote, where you are very aware of where the eye is.

Icanplaythat said:If they cater to all gamers, why are the traditional controls for Twilight Princess (which Nintendo developed) not present in the game. If they cater to "everyone", why can't I plug a keyboard and mouse into the Wii? If it's "everyone join in", why are there so many exclusions and restrictions?

Would you argue that Metroid: Other M is better than say Super Metroid?AceBandage said:Which of course ruins your perspective of anything Nintendo is putting out now, despite the fact that Nintendo constantly meets or exceeds the quality they produced back then.

There are entire mechanics designed around it. The Pull stars are pretty fun and entire levels/bosses are based around it. Also 2nd player which can be fun is based entirely around it.revolverjgw said:I don't even know why that mechanic exists. It's utterly pointless for 99.9% of the duration of the game. The only time I'm ever reminded it's there is when I'm forced to feed a star. Then it's like, oh yeah, I can aim at things.
I'd definitely prefer a modified SMG with the pointer fluff taken out, and a button assigned for spin. Not that it isn't the best game ever, regardless. But I'd enjoy even more with a controller.
AceBandage said:No, But I'd argue Metroid Prime is.
Metroid Prime was certainly a high quality title but I wouldn't file it under 'now' , mostly because it's almost 10 years old by now.AceBandage said:No, But I'd argue Metroid Prime is.
