Clearly, it's not coming out in the next 8 months out side of Japan.

So JAP - check
EUR - check
Moffit, I mean NA - ???

"NOA will be announcing updates via twitter following President Iwata's presentation!"

Yay, I love these things. :)

They don't always drop megatons or anything, but I appreciate the higher level of interaction with the userbase and fans compared to the past and it's nice to get new info and/or footage on upcoming stuff.

Looking forward to what they have to show and say.

I know it will be a Japan-centric conference, but what are they waiting for to announce a Fire Emblem release period. I'm not even asking for a precise date, just which quarter of which year! Come on Nintendo treat better your fans!

There's two events, just like in April. The first will be more Japan focused and the other European focused, most likely. There will be some things the same in both, but each should have some unique stuff.

Ha ha. E3 has totally killed Nintendo hype threads!

Shibata's gonna drop the bomb people. Drop. The. Bomb.

We'll get a few release dates, at least.

All I want to hear is a Fire Emblem release date and that Nintendo have set up a studio in the UK to develop games for the e-shop.

I'd buy a Wii-U just for this kind of thing. Wii-U "hometown" and 3DS "summer home/vacation"

I'd love Wii U/3DS intergration for AC. I doubt it would work like that. Though it would be interesting and fun. (expecially if they put the weather channel feature which was ditched in the original in) if that was optional people who have the 3DS version could turn it on and more warmer places could have a tropical island feel etc.

For the record, this is what the European swapnote / letterbox message says:

Shibata's message said:
Hello again! I'm Satoru Shibata from Nintendo of Europe.
We will present 2nd European Nintendo Direct!
on 22nd Jun 6 a.m. CET. I am sorry for a bit early time.
We want you to enjoy it before you go to school or office.. See you soon (signature)

Could explain AC's no-show at E3.

Thinking about it, I could really get behind the idea of te 3Ds version being this quiet seaside village and WiiU version being more like a an actual town. It'd be cool to see them use the hardware to do something bigger than they've ever done.
It's probably gonna be half-assed, like the wii one though.

Hmmm... just saw this thread. Too bad it's unlikely they'll be showing anything from SMT4 until like... August. :(

Damn you rollerduck! I had forgotten about SMT4. Now I crave footage.

Edit: Above: "Alas, poor bomba! I knew you well."

What could they possibly have to say so soon after E3? Guess we won't have to wait long to find out.

I'm fairly sure that we were always aware that there was an event coming up to focus on stuff relevant to Japan that wasn't appropriate to talk about at E3. Having a European one too is a surprise, though. Talking about Rhythm Heaven, perhaps? I don't think they mentioned that in the last one.

Also, 5AM? WHAAAAAT? I guess I might be able to squeeze in the video between the time I wake up and the time I need to leave for work.

(As a small aside: While I don't think it'll happen in this one, I wouldn't be surprised if future Nintendo Directs also worked to stir up Wii U hype)

I planned to meet a friend tomorrow. Luckily that is for lunch so I can sleep in. Still wonder why NoE decided to make their's so early. Is this a subtle dig at NoA that they are now releasing things earlier?

We'll have the new Professor Layton for 3DS! I don't know why it wasn't shown at E3, but as it will be released later this year, expect Mr. Ciabatta to show it.

Concerning Sakura Samurai, there are sadly always titles that aren't released in all regions, e.g. Snowpack Park on WiiWare.

Here's hoping nintendo want to keep dropping bombs leading up to the Wii U launch , rather than blowing their load at E3.

Yeah... I'm dreaming :)

It doesn't specify new games...

It should be worth getting up for as Nintendo is promising new info, trailers and other news about the latest games - as well as titles coming up on the horizon - for Nintendo 3DS.

Nintendo Direct will also feature announcements and content specifically for Europe.

It's starting to feel a bit like Nintendo are regarding Europe as perhaps a more worthwhile battleground than the US, they seem to be expending significant effort and focus on us in recent years.

maybe they feel they need to build a presence there more, and that they can let the american side coast a little.

or maybe with europe going to sony and japan going to nintendo (kinda), they feel it's easier to edge sony out of europe than microsoft out of america.

To be fair, they have ignored Europe for over twenty years.

NoE is pandering to the hardcore and their most dedicated fans a bit more, which is very welcome of course, but I don't feel like they are really going all out in terms of making any region a "battleground". They are just more willing to fill the gaps in their release schedule with some niche games and NoA is just kind of dumb about it.

No, they're just playing catchup on the two decades we were left behind.

Funny how a couple of nice things happen over a year or two and suddenly all the other shit doesn't matter anymore (and that's ignoring stuff like the Sakura Samurai disappearance).

Oh, it matters, and it hurt, but it's in the past now; for the most part things feel a bit different in Nintendo's stance on us recently. Although Sakura Samurai's absence *does* suck a little.

Oh fuck, better not announce some revision. I literally just ordered a 3DS :lol

Also, how about WiiU? Now THAT needs some ,,details'' not shown at E3...

You know chums, I think we should all come together and agree to ignore this conference. We're simply not ready for another one, some members here barely survived E3.

'ehhh, I'm not feeling gaming news after that awful E3 hangover. What can we even reasonably expect?

I think the speculated Dragon Quest VIIr announcement is overdue and should happen sooner rather than later, but it probably doesn't make much sense to announce that this close to the DQX launch and on a measly ND.
So I'm mostly looking forward to the European event and maybe get some clarification on release dates an such. Maybe something about Layton 5. Maybe something about a future firmware update.

Nintendo Direct was the only good "part" of E3. Why should I ignore that?
