[Nintendo Direct EU] Theatrhythm Final Fantasy demo now available

Is there a story mode in the game of some sort? Or does it boil down to picking a new song from the menu? I don't mind which one it is, but I can't find a lot of info about the game online.

I really loved the demo but I'm afraid it will happen the same as all non-peripheral rhythm games that I play: I'm usually acing them in the most difficult setting in just a couple of days. Sometimes being very good at a genre can be a little bad.

Have you played DJ Max Portable or Pop'n Music Portable?

Yes, there's a story mode, it's got the kind of Chaos vs. Cosmos thing going on as the Dissidia series. The demo has a sample of the Challenge Mode where you simply pick a song and go from there.

Ah thanks. Well, I'm buying. I've allready spent like 2.5 hours on the demo so I think I'll like the final game. Especially when my favourite tracks from VI and IX pop up.

Can't find anything about Theatrhythm DLC coming to Europe though.

The eShop page for the game has an "Additional Content" icon (empty for now) appearing along with "Info", "Videos" and "Demo" so you can count on it.

Just don't expect too much storytelling, it's mostly just about playing through a set of songs from one FF game at a time.

You mean there are dialogues and story-scenes a la Dissidia? O.o

It's Ouendan syndrome all over again; I can't get enough of Theatrhythm, but I can't shake the feeling that I'm ruining my 3DS' lower screen.

Well, not quite. The story is mostly just an intro and an ending. But there's a more structured single player mode than the kind of "pick any song and any difficulty level" mode the demo has.

Ok, I guess I was expecting too much after Dissidia did it differently from the typical fightning game eheh. It's still a day one of course, the DEMO is so much fun.

Now that I beat The Man with the Machine Gun in Ultimate regularly, I think I know why I was lost in the part after the summon. The imput you have to do switches to the background instruments. I unconsciously wanted to follow the main melody and that was the source of my errors (and lack of practice).

And I think I play better without smashing the stylus against the screen! This game isn't going to destroy the touch screen at this rate. I'm ready for more songs! 11 (9) days to go!

The demo sold me on this, I was kinda worried it'd be too different from Ouendan/EBA for my experience with those games to help but that's not the case, I felt comfortable and could enjoy it right away.

I WILL buy whatever DLC songs this gets, no doubt about it. Hopefully they don't get stupid with region exclusives or some shit.

Love the random pseudo-engrish, too.

Well, I went and preordered it. Going to be fun. It's till kind of a stupid name to say out loud, though."Theatrhytm." Square-Enix needs an editor for their names...
