Well, in lieu of the absence of both Castlevania AND Cave Story, and also because I just finished Bit.Trip BEAT, I downloaded Bit.Trip CORE. And Jesus Christ it's just genius. Can't wait to finish this and get VOID.

You realize Q4 2009 means anytime between now and the end of the year right? Even then I'd be surprised if it didn't slip into January as the other Rebirth titles took forever as well.

I thought it was initially announced for release in Q3. Maybe that was just for Japan...?

That would make more sense if there weren't 500 extremely crappy shovelware games on WiiWare. If Nicalis repeatedly can't meet the standard those titles required to pass through we should be worried. As I already stated though, I suspect it has to do with the DLC portions of the game, future compatibility, etc., which is frustrating because the content sounds completely superfluous.

This have nothing to do with shit games. You can make a shit game and getting approved first shot. Nintendo doesnt make content approvals anymore, they only do technical approvement. The lotcheck requirements there are tricky and severe. MANY devs are having a hard time especially with their first games. I know that because i've been a certification specialist for 2 years regarding Wii and DS games.
There's extremely delicate stuff that is often overlooked by devs like making the Home menu available as much as possible and display the "no Home menu" icon if ever it's not accessible. Respecting the 5 unskippeable seconds of the Wii strap screen, nunchuck warning if you use it, booting to the Wiistrap screen in less than 5 seconds, never have a black screen for more than 3 seconds, never load something for more than 25 seconds, organise data layers on the disk to the eye doesn't have to move too much, not saving automatically more than once a minute to prevent useless flash wear and tear, etc. I can go on and on. Devellopment guidelines are not jokes really. EVERYTHING is thought out through the tiniest details and Nintendo doesn't let much stuff pass.

Combatribes? How utterly random.

Wait, Christmas Clix is 1000 points. Seriously? Do they not want it to sell anything? I'm at a loss for words...

Thanks for that. I knew about little things like referring to systems, controllers and buttons in certain ways but none of those more technical things.

Not interested in any of the titles this week, but I'm glad to see Nintendo getting more titles out of the way. Now it's two less games until Earthbound!

*sigh* will you tell him or shall I?

A question for anyone with Gradius ReBirth in North America, has the update for that been released in English yet?

I have the NA release of Gradius Rebirth, just checked it and there's still no update button/update alert for the game in my downloaded games queu. :(

Missile Reflect needs a NA release, stat. I've been saving my 500 remaining free DSi points waiting for a game like this.

Still waiting for Donkey Kong (arcade) to be released. Wonder what's taking them so long. It's the most obvious first party arcade choice.

This, right here. DK arcade should have been launced at or shortly after the VCA launch in March. And of course he's got a lot more on his plate, but you'd think Miyamoto would want more people to play the authentic version of the game, it is his favorite creation after all.

Updates are available for Dr. Mario Express (500 point section for those who do not remember where it is in the shop) and Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Minis March Again (800+ point section) on DSiWare shop. Downloaded both, but I have no idea what has changed. Saves and records are retained so no worries.
Anyone figure out what changed in either yet?

Read somewhere else that it fixed a crash bug in Dr. Mario. Probably something similar in the other. In any case, there are no apparent changes to the gameplay whatsoever.

As for Bookworm DSi, it's very basic. There is just one mode of play, the classic Bookworm. Not much else to say except that it is held book-style, but I didn't notice any option for lefties.

Someone mentioned updates to Dr. Mario Express and Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Minis March Again, but I also noticed updates for Brain Age Express: Math and WarioWare: Snapped, however I didn't get a chance to try them out to see if anything changed.

Didn't see a December thread so I guess I'll post this here.

Is there anywhere (official or otherwise) where I can get a list of WiiWare titles sorted by price?

I have 500 points left over after buying Pokemon Rumble and thought I might spring for one of the cheaper WiiWare games, but I don't feel like browsing through every game just to see which ones are cheap.

I'd kill for the ability to just transfer those 500 points to my DSi.

The December thread will be going up tonight (GMT). I’m muddling on with a very heavily pregnant wife, so a lot of things are going on the back burner and it means that - while it’s easy enough to find a few moments to browse GAF at work or at home and make a quick post or two, taking a chunk of time to update or prep new threads is tricky. Soz for the delay.

No problem, family comes first. :D
I wasn't trying to nag, just hoping my question won't get lost at the end of this month's thread ;)

Got bookworm. There isn't much depth, but it's alright since it's only 500pts.
My workmates liked it.

Is there no way to move downloaded games from the internal memory to an SD card? After grabbing Contra a few weeks back from the store I noticed I was running out of space. Anyway, I couldn't seem to find an option to transfer VC titles/Wiiware games to an SD card. Is the only option to download all of it directly to the card from their store again?

No, you simply go into the Wii settings menu and use the management section to copy the title to the SD card you have in the machine. Nice and simple.

Wii Option - > Data Management -> Wii Channel -> Copy/Move

Edit: Oh, too slow.:lol

Q-Games has another title in the pipeline: Star Ship Patrol
I'd say it's for DSi again.

In addition, the OFLC has rated a game called "LINK 'N' LAUNCH" developed by Intelligent Systems.

Things seem kinda slow right now, y'know? The closest stuff I can think of are And Yet it Moves and Super Meat Ball, and those are like February at the earliest.
Anything in the meanwhile that I'm not aware of?

Don't you fucking dare mention that developer

Link 'n' Launch will be Panel Connection: 3 Minute Rocket, I think. Not a bad name.

I really hope Nintendo does release some of their arcade games. Donkey Kong NES is not good enough.

It's brilliant as well as bizarre.

Only for a few minutes at a time and at parties, but so brilliant in those circumstances that you don't even care.

THIEF!
