Wasn't there a joke on this last year?

Think the shop was photoshopped to say "No bodies ready any time".

I wonder if those women in the background will ever become aware that they appeared in this photo, and that their presence was discussed on sites like this?

Nintendo's goofiness is one of the reasons I love them. What other video game company regularly has its top people act like people in mascot costumes are real in promotional stuff. I wish they would expand it to include stuff like Link and Samus cosplayers.

Same, I just think it's hilarious. The things they say sometimes just... make no sense and have no grounding, but they're just charming. Like how in the Year of Luigi Direct, every time they announced a game with Luigi in it, they talked about him as if he was an actor. It's just funny and charming and part of why I love the company so much.

But is it the confidence of someone who is in touch, or of someone who thinks, "Yes, we have just what the masses wanted -- Wii Music 2!"
Wii Music would do shit for both casuals and cores right now, so I think he has no option but to go with the former. :p

Blimey, I agree with this so much. THIS is what makes Nintendo Nintendo.

Mario, Luigi, Link etc aren't just treated like characters or IPs. They're treated as much a part of the company as Iwata, Miyamoto or Reggie.

And they already had the ultimate Link cosplayer back in 2004, Miyamoto himself!

But in Wii Music 2, there will be a visual of guitar strings on the GamePad! The individual strings don't actually do anything, but you can rub your hand on the touchscreen to make music! And your friends can watch the TV to see Mario and Luigi totally jam!

Iwata, Miyamoto, and Reggie should stop goofing around and start working on saving the Wii U. The time used dilly dallying with Luigi could have been used to getting third-parties to support the Wii U and the 3DS. Now they will have to deal with all of that time wasted and watch the company fall down to its knees.

Oh mon dieu, guys guys, I get it now, everything is aligned in that photo:
(From left to right)
Reggie, Luigi, Iwata, Miyamoto wearing a "64" t-shirt.

Luigi 64!!!!!!!!

NSLU was just the appetizer after all.

Agreed. I'm a massive Nintendo fanboy, and it's entirely because of things like this.

You watch a Microsoft conference, and it's a bunch of businessmen saying the word 'experience' over and over again and trying to trick you into think DRM is awesome. You watch a Nintendo one, and you've got Iwata in a Luigi hat, Reggie letting you know his body is ready, and Miyamoto barely containing his excitement as he drops megatons.

Needs a :p at the end of it. ;)

Can you imagine the big green mascot joyfully bounding over to greet the trio of Nintendo icons, only for Reggie to bodyslam him and Iwata to growl "fuck your special year Luigi, we have some third-party pandering to do", while Miyamoto asks the fat chicks for directions to the EA booth.
