I can be the captain of the hype ship if you want guys, I don't care if I'm the first one to get eaten alive by the relentless sea of Nintendo's reality once we crash with that giant iceberg called "Mario Kart 8, Co-developed by RETRO".

My real expectations of the E3 Direct

They will open up talking about the summer line up once again:

Game & Wario
Pikmin 3
Super Luigi U
W101

Then they will discuss the summer update for a few minutes and what it entails

Up next is the fall line up:
Wii Fit U
Windwaker HD
3D Mario
Mario Kart U
Yoshi Yarn

Then a sneak peak at future games:

X
Bayonetta 2
Retro's game (surprise game)
Smash Bros.
SMTxFE

They'll also discuss some third party support during the direct and go into a bit of detail with some of the games:

Sonic Lost World
Sonic and Mario Olympics
3rd Sonic Game
Rayman Legends
Splinter Cell
Watch Dogs
Batman
Scribblenauts
Maybe a few other games being mentioned

I am not expecting any surprises aside from Retro's game. I hope a lot of you have tamed your expectations of this Direct.

I agree, this looks realistic. And seeing more of the bolded would keep me from being remotely disappointed.

Do We Still Need E3?

It's nice to know Geoff and them think what Nintendo is doing at E3 is a smart idea.

Disappointed that GT doesn't support HTML 5, I went to their YouTube channel to see if they uploaded that video. They did not, so I watched Kyle Bosman's video about Nintendo at E3. How the HELL did I not hear about the GameCube controller with no buttons?!

............. *retreats back into the shadows*

E3 for me is a celebration of the gaming industry, like a birthday or anniversary. Video games are given huge and deserved focus, and I absolutely love the buzz, even for games, consoles or developers I don't consider myself a fan of. It's just a very special few days that I love following, even from afar.

The weird thing is he said there was like a 100 page thread on GAF about this, but I didn't see any thing?

Yeah but I still don't like how no one seems to be mentioning the fact that Nintendo is going just as hard to rally the indie community. Everyone seems to only be talking about Sony.

Yeah Sony does deserve to be praised about really pushing for indie support, but Nintendo did it sooner so they should be as praised if not more.

He was actually talking about the DRM topic.

Ah.

I think you have got that the wrong way round, it is much more likely that poeple who bought the Wii for Wii Sports are being catered to by iOS & given the fact that there are always going to be fat people there will always be a market for a Wii Fit.

Also all the people expecting Nintendo to show something that will change the perception of the Wii U are crazy, the narrative for that console has been set & they will struggle to keep it on shelves long enough to sell close to the GC let alone any of their good consoles.

From what we've seen so far, it doesn't look different enough from Wii Fit to get people to go out and buy it.

So, I'm planning to watch all the conferences, but due to things beyond my control, I can only watch them through the WiiU. (Or android if push comes to shove.)

What multi conference sites are Wii U friendly? I want to watch all the conferences through the systems' TV transfer feature, so that's why i'm asking.

true and i'll have both the ps4 and wii u, but i've seen multiple sites from GTTV to Rev3 all commend Sony, bash Microsoft and then on the next topic, totally ignoring Nintendo.

lol idk guess I'm a bit angry that it just seems journalists don't cover everything they're supposed to

The only way Wii Fit U shifts copies is if Nintendo establish partnerships with health and fitness companies and personalities. Sponsoring a sports show or advertising in weight loss magazines, stuff like that. Casuals won't just rush out and buy it like they did the first game so Nintendo are going to have to work hard to convince people it is a worthy upgrade.

And Wii Fit + was? People are always going to be looking for ways to lose weight, as long as they time its release well(i.e New Year ) it will sell fairly well(compared to other Wii U games).

While I'd prefer more surprises for Wii U, this wouldn't be a disappointing E3 if Nintendo gave us that for Wii U and then dropped a couple surprises for 3DS. Something like Kirby 3DS, Advance Wars, a game by Treasure, etc.

Then you've got Retro and a couple 3DS games that weren't announced prior to the event. That's cool with me.

So other than Nintendo, what other conferences are you guys watching? Just Ubisoft, and maybe Sony for me.

Well seeing as how I love Microsoft, Apple, Sony and Nintendo...

Microsoft E3 and Apple WWDC (iOS has gaming) after I come back from my midterm. Watching Ubisoft, Sony and Nintendo live.

So does anyone the countdown timer for this thing? Any links?

only sony...can't wait to see the box.

Watching all conferences because Im a very nerdy gamer. Nintendo's is the only one I have hype for tho. I guess the pressure they under with the list of games to be shown is what gives me high expectations.

I will have loved, but can't watch sony. Time zone for Europe is hard, and it's 3 hours long so the all night... And my body need to be ready a few hours later for Nintendo direct, ffs!

I'll be watching all of the conferences too. I always find EAs to be a bit of a bore, but they're usually fun to laugh at.

I'm excited for Nintendo most of all, but I'm also looking forward to Sony's Press Conference.

Microsoft's, on the other hand, I'll watch out of curiosity. I can't see myself picking up that console.

This generation, I've decided on being a Wii U/PS4 gamer.

since were talking about watching conferences i have a bit of an OT question

is there/will there be a thread that will provide links for them all with no spoilers? i will be watching most of them after the fact

As a hardcore gamer, I love watching the majority of live streams/content. Of course , some genres I don not like, like most sports games or MMORPGS, but I am interested in the business practices, the games, the hardware, the memes, the show and everything about E3.

It's why I'm on this site!

Microsoft's probably won't be hilariously bad. They're going into it with so much against them - surely they're at least a BIT self-aware. They'll play it safe and it will be dull at worst (best?)
