I've regularly stated that $279.99 premium would be the best price. If you drop it to $250 then its a hundred bucks off launch. A hundred seems like much more to the mind then something like $90. This could legitimately annoy early adopters even with ambassador games. A 20% discount is solid and with that price you can do $300 Mario Kart bundles. Mario Kart is a huge game and I don't see Nintendo selling it with a Wii U for $250.

Someone please send me an invite to the IRC too, I don't wanna be like that german kid in a video screaming and smashing the keyboard while it's loading only to get a maintenance message.

BTW, someone should totally edit that video as a gif making the kid trying to sign in to neogaf while he's at E3.

how's this?

Price isn't the problem, its software. Nintendo won't have to drop the price of their already cheaper console as long as there's compelling software to pick up.

Man, I realize again why I don't like conferences. They're so fucking bad, I just can't bare to watch these people try to make jokes over and over. Iwata holding the banana has been WAYYY funnier than anything I've heard in these conferences.

What's the IRC? Is it the official NeoGAF chatroom during the Nintendo Direct or something? If so, PM me the link, please.

pretty much

apparently someones hidden it in their post in email tags (so you have to quote their post to reveal the irc link) and i cant find it for the life of me ):

Intermitent GAF connection isn't helping me right now, but anybody who wants those IRC details just PM me and I'll answer with them.

So, on a scale from 1 to potato, how mediocre was the Microsoft show?

Honestly it was decent. They stuck with mostly just games and didn't mess around with Kinect or anything else too badly.

still not enough to get me to buy one but as far as E3 conferences go it wasn't horrible.

I personally think M$ is in some trouble.

Man, Nintendo must make a perfect ND... :/

People were being ridiculous thinking that Microsoft would have nothing to show. The idea that they've been sitting on their hands doing nothing for the past 5+ years prepping for this, you get what you deserve for buying into that. If Nintendo doesn't have more than what we already know about, then they'll probably get very little attention tomorrow.

Someone also let me know where the IRC Chat will be hosted. Thanks.

Judging by the conferences we've witnessed already, Nintendo really needs to cut out any irrelevant meandering in their Direct. That means no long explanations from Iwata or Reggie about "experiences" and "gamplay for all ages." And certainly less time devoted to developer walkthroughs (Luigi's Mansion from NL comes to mind).

It was pretty good(EAs was better), but...

The problem i have with these games coming out is they are too much of a cinematic experience.

For instance, Ryse. It looks boring. Repetitive gameplay. Looks great, but feels like youre watching a movie.

I fear this is where AAA gaming is heading more and more.

Nintendo, save us with your gameplay first philosophy.

This is from someone who has over 160 Xbox 360 titles. I was completely underwhelmed by everything except MGS V and Titanfall. Nothing shown today convinced me to buy an Xbox One, especially with all the unknowns still floating about and that bloated price tag. We have never seen these Nintendo franchises in HD, it doesn't matter if they already talked about them because we haven't seen them.

Some of their biggests games will be shown off. How will that get them little attention? Sorry, buts thats bullshit. They'll get plenty of attention tomorrow.

HD Nintendo games for the first time in video game history. That alone justifies my Wii U purchase.

For all the hype we usually set for these events, you almost never can enjoy the heat of the moment. This site crashed even before things get fully started. Same lame sh!t every event.

And yes, Nintendo better pull out all the stops tomorrow, and quit that timid, pussy-footing, out of touch, end-conference-with-Nintendoland-fireworks-while-TW101-gets-benched BS, because the competition is really fierce this time around, and it may be even harder to compete purely from a perception/media standpoint.

Rooting for the underdog here... so show me some stuff that looks crazy exciting to play tomorrow, Nintendo! Remind me again why I love video games in the first place.

AMEN! I'm hoping for Wii U Music and Pokemon Channel U. Only way you'll get me hyped.

Oh god, yes. Nintendo has it's own way of disappointing its fans. I can imagine tomorrow, I'll ask myself the question: "It's over? That's it?!"

As pathetic as it is, smash, 3d Mario, kart, X, sonic, Bayonetta , video and gameplay are all I need to be happy...with more 3ds goodness later.

Nervous for Nintendo now. Microsoft and EA have been solid conferences and seeing all the 3rd party games the Wii U won't be getting is concerning.

Here's hoping Ubisoft announce something in the next hour.
