Check out that Ubisoft quote you posted. Can you really take Ubisoft seriously when they specifically mentioned 3DS and Kinect ? What impressive games have they released on them ? I just remain skeptical about Ubisoft's further commitment to Wii U in terms of core games.

I'm talking about future support. Not support for Wii U this year.

Id expect some more future support of core games since the 360 seems itll have some more time on its legs going on into next year from what MS has said.

Indeed, the similarity of the major games being announced lately and the complete focus on "mature" shooters is depressing but I've already come to the realization that "quirky" games just aren't a big part of the console scene anymore. :/

That mature is a little bit missleading. I know, you put it into quotationmarks.

Umm, no. Thats why I have super low expectations for Nintendo. I'd be excited for Nintendo if this was my first E3.

But Nintendo has had good e3's before. I know last years was terrible, that doesn't mean its going to be the same this year.

Though, it's always good to temper expectations.

Fruits, lots and lots of fruits.

Should I feel ashamed that i drank mt dew and watched MS's conference?

To be fair, i didnt buy it and I havent had dew in months.

ok, thats enough ms talk for me, its a ninty thread, sorry mods

I'm not angry at Ubisoft. I just question what their support for Wii U will be like in 2014. I don't think their Wii U titles this year will sell well ,and that will play a big part in Ubisoft's decision to green light titles for the platform in the future. I think Ubisoft will just generally be more focused on Xbox One and PS4, not Wii U.

It seems like if their is a PS3/360 version Ubisoft will do it, but they have no plans to integrate Wii U into PS4/One games Evey new game they announced besides Just Dance isn't on Wii U.

They will be. Like all publishers. Nintendo played their hand in an unfavourable and now they're paying the price. We'll see what works.

It's isn't the "main" gaf chat room (i don't think those guys like ppl giving that out). It's made up of mostly gaffers and we generally talk a lot about nintendo but not exclusively.

edit: if you want a mibbit link, msg me

Thanks man!

I am getting a PS4, but it would still be nice if Wii U got third party support, seriously Nintendo fans are gamers too.

No, it needs better software and hardware sales. Then there is the problem of the power difference between the other two platforms and the Wii U.

In my opinion, everything so far showed looked like it can run on Wii U, or at least downscaled.

Unlike the Wii.

So many games have shown some sort of tablet integration and yet they aren't coming to Wii U despite the console having the same capabilities in the box.

I get this feeling that this upcoming generation is going to be a frustrating one for me.

Unfortunately, I don't think it's not going to happen. Nintendo will have to fill the void themselves. Iwata should have had dev studios set up at NoA and NoE years ago and started my idea of resurrecting long forgotten from the N64 years will help.
First up, Shadowman. Then World Driver Championship.

On one hand Nintendo deserves the treatment they are getting. Their actions caused this regardless of their reasons. However on the other as a Wii U owner and Nintendo customer (with a budget due to needing to save for other far more important things) if given the chance I want to curse Iwata, etc out to their faces. I have no faith they can or will even try to fill the voids that are being left.

On the gaming front I'm feeling disappointed going into tomorrow. To the point I'm afraid to even take my lunch super early so I can watch the stream. Considering just ignoring it until after the fact as to not ruin my day.

Nintendo needs to be like to third parties "Bitch, your putting your games on Wii U *slaps money on the desk" and walks out all epic like.

That would be awesome...

Or what does Nintendo have to do? beg them? Lol.

Sad but maybe!

That's sad Nintendo will be punished for thinking about the gamers.

No need, have a PC! Because betting on Nintendo for third party support has been a dumb idea for over a decade.
Yeah. I know. I was interested in picking up a PS4, to be honest. But I'm going to go ahead and just the PC I've been putting off for so long. lol

Mate, don't kill yourself over the lack of third party support. NCL brought this onto themselves with their choice of CPU and GPU for their hardware. On the other hand, you have to remember that the likes of EA are hell bent on having an ecosystem of "one size fits all" to support their crap arse business practices (one that I understand, but do not agree with), so Nintendo don't fit into their plans at all. Don't waste your time in the hopes of third party support from the likes of EA this gen for any Nintendo hardware. not going to happen.

Get yourself some lunch. Get yourself a capable PC instead. :-)

Man, this is litterally the first post I was able to write on GAF :/ GAF has been down for HOURS.

Anyway, umm... what do I want to say... AH! It kind of pisses me off that some games at Ubisoft's press conference weren't announced for Wii U (yet).

I really hate how the big publishers think. They themselves are able to move console platforms if they support the respecitve ones properly.

If Ubi wants the Wii U to sell better, then they should give Wii U owners more incentives to buy one, by releasing games for the console. Many Games shown would run on the Wii U as well.

Looks like I'll be missing the Direct tomorrow. Got a job interview!

I'll go on a media blackout until I'm back from work in the evening, and by then Nintendo will have posted the Direct onto the eshop.

Protip: disable the site's mobile viewer. I thought gaf was down too. It wasnt lol.

There has been a huge lack of Japanese created 3rd party games from what I've seen so far. Wonder if Sony will change that? Hopefully Nintendo has some locked up

the lack of wiiu support on any of the newly announced titles is probly why nintendo isn't presenting on stage this year :(

That makes no sense at all. Nintendo has enough games for a great stage show.

Anyway, Nintendo fans need to accept that to play games like The Division AND amazing Nintendo games you need to buy a Wii U and a PS4.

Accept that and you will stop caring which game Wii U gets from 3rd parties or not. On the plus side, PS4 will have the most advanced version of any 3rd party game anyway.

It's been that way for 4-5 gens now, if you count Genesis. My home has been a 2 console home for almost 20 years now. You are right, no one should be surprised.

That's the most disheartening thing. Control mess instead of perfect fit. I couldn't even use those features because I've neither got smartphone nor tablet. That being the reason I got Wii U early.

In all honesty, I am more excited for Sonic Lost World alone than for any game shown so far today. Dead Rising 3 is the only one that I would buy day 1 if I already owned the system. How many gruff-voiced protagonist corridor QTE cinematic shooters can one person play in a year? As long as Nintendo shows Smash, 3D Mario, and Kart, I will be beyond happy. Anything else will destroy me.

By the way, I think today's XBox One conference validated Nintendo's idea of doing a Direct instead. Now there's no chance of game trailers launching without sound or developers standing on stage listening to cat calls in silence, and Nintendo can edit all of the rape jokes out of the script.

LOL why did one or two bugs at MS's conference validate Nintendo? If anything Nintendo is just saving money. Like they always are trying to do and especially now with the terrible shape the Wii ended up in and the Wii U is in right now. It might work just the same with a pre taped video.

I also find it funny that people are brushing off the games MS showed. Exclusive or multiplatform with PS4, those games are what appeal to the masses. Or will. Plus as a conference it was exactly what I would want from a company. No frills, no BS about Kinect, tv apps, and all in one box crap which they already got out of the way.

Nintendo won't get any due to their own stubborn decisions which finally blew up big time in their face. I would love for all those games or games like them to be on my Nintendo system (esp EA sports lineup) so I can just go with one system.

As it is its Wii U and possibly PS4 for me, unless they price themselves out of my range too.

Nintendo just better not fill up the direct with some boring crap. 60 minutes. Show me all the games they can, even those which won't be released for another year.

But the SNES had more third party support, it was good to have both because Genesis did have exclusives, but this really started with N64.

I just wish Nintendo could somehow end that trend with Wii U.

Which is why I said If you count the Genesis. I meant the SNES had a superior library of third and first party games, but to get the best out of that gen you needed a Genesis as well. I agree though, this was a much bigger deal on the N64. As far as the Wii U goes, I think we can only hope Nintendo secures some Japanese third party titles.

Microsoft killed GAF and nobody was in the NintenGAF IRC. Somebody hold me... I've just been chilling in Miiverse.

Oh, and I'd love to see a game by NLG. Luigi's Mansion 2 was the bob-omb.

Only way Nintendo ends this trend is if they don't restrict the disk format, drop the bs with 3rd parties licensing fees, build a system that is at least as powerful as the other two, and have success installing a user base.

Honestly 3rd parties don't have much of an incentive right now to develop for Nintendo.

Nintendo has to deliver tomorrow. Many of the media completely is ignoring Nintendo right now. All I hear is "Sony and Microsoft". Sometimes, they mention the "PC". Never heard "Nintendo" today.
