I want deep experiences that are also quirky, you know, the way Nintendo used to make games.
Check out that Ubisoft quote you posted. Can you really take Ubisoft seriously when they specifically mentioned 3DS and Kinect ? What impressive games have they released on them ? I just remain skeptical about Ubisoft's further commitment to Wii U in terms of core games.
I'm talking about future support. Not support for Wii U this year.
Indeed, the similarity of the major games being announced lately and the complete focus on "mature" shooters is depressing but I've already come to the realization that "quirky" games just aren't a big part of the console scene anymore. :/
Umm, no. Thats why I have super low expectations for Nintendo. I'd be excited for Nintendo if this was my first E3.

I'm not angry at Ubisoft. I just question what their support for Wii U will be like in 2014. I don't think their Wii U titles this year will sell well ,and that will play a big part in Ubisoft's decision to green light titles for the platform in the future. I think Ubisoft will just generally be more focused on Xbox One and PS4, not Wii U.
It seems like if their is a PS3/360 version Ubisoft will do it, but they have no plans to integrate Wii U into PS4/One games.
They will be. Like all publishers. Nintendo played their hand in an unfavourable and now they're paying the price. We'll see what works.

It's isn't the "main" gaf chat room (i don't think those guys like ppl giving that out). It's made up of mostly gaffers and we generally talk a lot about nintendo but not exclusively.

So...Wii U needs DRM to get support?
No, it needs better software and hardware sales. Then there is the problem of the power difference between the other two platforms and the Wii U.
I am getting a PS4, but it would still be nice if Wii U got third party support, seriously Nintendo fans are gamers too.
So...Wii U needs DRM to get support?
I know what'll work. No WiiU versions. Might as well save up for that Xbox One, Eat.
Well...cboat delivered on E3. Mirrors Edge happened. Maybe we will see the massive Smash Bros roster that was brought up.
Unfortunately, I don't think it's not going to happen. Nintendo will have to fill the void themselves. Iwata should have had dev studios set up at NoA and NoE years ago and started my idea of resurrecting long forgotten from the N64 years will help.
First up, Shadowman. Then World Driver Championship.
Sad but maybe!
Yeah. I know. I was interested in picking up a PS4, to be honest. But I'm going to go ahead and just the PC I've been putting off for so long. lolSad but maybe!
No need, have a PC! Because betting on Nintendo for third party support has been a dumb idea for over a decade.
Mate, don't kill yourself over the lack of third party support. NCL brought this onto themselves with their choice of CPU and GPU for their hardware. On the other hand, you have to remember that the likes of EA are hell bent on having an ecosystem of "one size fits all" to support their crap arse business practices (one that I understand, but do not agree with), so Nintendo don't fit into their plans at all. Don't waste your time in the hopes of third party support from the likes of EA this gen for any Nintendo hardware. not going to happen. On one hand Nintendo deserves the treatment they are getting. Their actions caused this regardless of their reasons. However on the other as a Wii U owner and Nintendo customer (with a budget due to needing to save for other far more important things) if given the chance I want to curse Iwata, etc out to their faces. I have no faith they can or will even try to fill the voids that are being left.
On the gaming front I'm feeling disappointed going into tomorrow. To the point I'm afraid to even take my lunch super early so I can watch the stream. Considering just ignoring it until after the fact as to not ruin my day.
That's sad Nintendo will be punished for thinking about the gamers.
Man, this is litterally the first post I was able to write on GAF :/ GAF has been down for HOURS.
Anyway, umm... what do I want to say... AH! It kind of pisses me off that some games at Ubisoft's press conference weren't announced for Wii U (yet).
I really hate how the big publishers think. They themselves are able to move console platforms if they support the respecitve ones properly.
If Ubi wants the Wii U to sell better, then they should give Wii U owners more incentives to buy one, by releasing games for the console. Many Games shown would run on the Wii U as well.
the lack of wiiu support on any of the newly announced titles is probly why nintendo isn't presenting on stage this year![]()
Protip: disable the site's mobile viewer. I thought gaf was down too. It wasnt lol.

How do you do that?
Accept that and you will stop caring which game Wii U gets from 3rd parties or not. On the plus side, PS4 will have the most advanced version of any 3rd party game anyway.
That's the most disheartening thing. Control mess instead of perfect fit. I couldn't even use those features because I've neither got smartphone nor tablet. That being the reason I got Wii U early. So many games have shown some sort of tablet integration and yet they aren't coming to Wii U despite the console having the same capabilities in the box.
In all honesty, I am more excited for Sonic Lost World alone than for any game shown so far today. Dead Rising 3 is the only one that I would buy day 1 if I already owned the system. How many gruff-voiced protagonist corridor QTE cinematic shooters can one person play in a year? As long as Nintendo shows Smash, 3D Mario, and Kart, I will be beyond happy. Anything else will destroy me.
By the way, I think today's XBox One conference validated Nintendo's idea of doing a Direct instead. Now there's no chance of game trailers launching without sound or developers standing on stage listening to cat calls in silence, and Nintendo can edit all of the rape jokes out of the script.

Found this out today, and it worked over mobile view.
It's been that way for 4-5 gens now, if you count Genesis. My home has been a 2 console home for almost 20 years now. You are right, no one should be surprised.
But the SNES had more third party support, it was good to have both because Genesis did have exclusives, but this really started with N64.
I just wish Nintendo could somehow end that trend with Wii U.
