Requesting permission to board captain Nibel. Direct is primed, target is engaged, all systems are go.

I hope we see Miyamoto's new game/IP.

So is the Nintendo Direct only about Wii U or will we see 3DS too? I ask because Nintendo's stream page says this (it says midnight because it's Australia):

"Nintendo Direct@E3 2013 is coming soon! Make sure you tune in to this global presentation for the latest news on future Wii U software.
Check back here at midnight between Tuesday 11th June 2013 and Wednesday 12th June 2013 (AEST) to watch the broadcast live!"
The focus will be on Wii U because the console needs it, but seeing as they haven't announced a 3DS Direct you can bet they'll at least mention Mario & Luigi, Mario Golf, Pokemon X & Y, LTTP2 and maybe throw in one surprise.

Does it work for you ?

Thank you!! After I changed it ROFL. Leave it on Nibel. Thank you. HYPE.

A WiiU price drop is a must now. Far too close to PS4. But I'm not sure if Nintendo was ready for a console priced that close to the WiiU.

Some surprises would be nice.

Do you think Nintendo could possibly hit the "casuals" again with some simple thing out of nowhere like Touch Generations line and Wii Sports? Trying to think how Nintendo could out think us hurts my brain.

My original line of thinking when Wii U was announced was Popcap beasting on the console but then EA dropped support or whatever. Now I'm thinking it will have to be something with NFC.

What other Nintendo focused content can I tune into today beside the Direct? I know GameTrailers has a Nintendo hour and IGN are probably doing something, but is there some sort of compiled list?

As it stands my Nintendo day starts at 3pm BST with the Direct, unless somewhere is doing a pre-show or anything else.

Nintendo's own website. Developer interviews and recaps of the press-only events.

as a 3DS owner without a WiiU (yet) I dont expect much in terms of new unannounced games or anything like that
besides metroid3Ds

fucking 90 MINUTE pokemon direct is a sweet-ass consolation prize tho

If he is referring to 3d mario as a tired franchise yes. Absolutely. The series and developer pedigree are unmatched in terms of innovative gameplay and industry defining design. Do something. Go check gamerankings top 10. Report back.

GTAIV

*drops mic*

Calm yourself. I want something new from Nintendo I've played mario right up to 3D land.

No he didn't. There have been a lot of new IPs so far from almost all the pubs. Konami is the only one that did not have a new IP iirc.

Really? how many sequels were showed at Sony and ms?a new killzone, a new final fantasy a new kingdom hearts...a new halo, a new cod, a new gran turismo, should i go on?

this is like a "black people stop embarrasing me" moment but with Nintendo fans

dont get heated

Not really a direct, seeing as it's seemingly not going to be streamed anywhere. It's a closed-door roundtable/Q&A. Though the official Twitter account has promised to live tweet, and I expect they'll be dribbling out updates to the official site and on Youtube throughout.

It isn't a Direct, it's a roundtable that isn't being broadcast. I think.

I always assumed there'd be reveals at around the same time tho. New pokemons, new trailer, etc

but you're right, might not be worth getting much hopes up

We are getting reveals tonight on official sites. Whether it's as the roundtable starts, when it ends, or in the middle is not clear as of yet.

They win e3 by showing sequels in tired franchises and a remake of a GameCube game?

Bring it Retro set higher standards!

Well I guess you are right. Mario has been showing signs of weakness with SM64, Sunshine and both Galaxy titles. Such tired games with no innovation or perfection at all.

I don't really get the out cry for new IPs all the time. What is the point of a new IP if it is just the exact same gameplay with very little to distinguish it from similar games, which is what we get 99% of the time?

I'd rather Nintendo use their existing franchises and add new elements like they do now, rather than say, making a new IP that is similar gameplay-wise to one they already have. What is the point?

I have to admit: despite the pros, I didn't like the other two conferences. I'd love to be able to see in Nintendo the savior of MY E3, but I'm almost sure that they will not deliver it...

Yeah, and there being four 3D Mario titles on a home console in 17 years is just overkill.

I'm hoping Nintendo open with Bayonetta 2 gameplay.

It's not mass market but it's the perfect game to get the core frothing (one way or another). It would be nice to see Nintendo start with a dash of trolling.
