Criterion are such an 'odd-one-out' among all of EA's studios. That they took it upon themselves to make the Wii U version of NFS a fantastic port because they actually have pride in their work is not something I can imagine many other studios anywhere doing.

And NFS on Wii U is a fantastic game.
Oh right, that's one game I still want. Just not at the € 60-70 pricetag it currently has :P

11 & 12 were both a bit underwhelming....so surely we're due a good one?

Surely?

Surely.
Well, considering that it's a pre-recorded broadcast directed by Nintendo itself, they obviously have a lot more control of what's going on and what's being presented than if they had an ordinary, live press conference. There all sorts of technical difficulties could arise (like the infamous Skyward Sword demonstration) and the pacing would have to be different due to the live audience and whatnot. So in that aspect, this upcoming presentation will probably be the best ever. And I'm sure the games they will announce and show will be quite amazing.

I follow Bill Trinen but wasn't aware of this other guy. Any other Nintendo employees/associates I should be following?
Dan Adelman (@Dan_Adelman) - at least if you have any interest in indie stuff. I believe @timfollowsyou is his European counterpart, Tim Symons.

True. My only worry is that in this format we won't see as many in-depth game demonstrations.

I hope so too. For all of us.

I wouldn't worry too much about that. We might not get them at the direct but they will surely arrive soon enough. After all, with Nintendo allocating E3 demos in best buy It seems like they want to spread the word as fast as possible. For some reason I am very sure both Nintendo and Sony will deliver the goods in spades this year. MS will deliver too, but a different kind of goods :P

Thus far all Directs have exceeded expectations. I think Nintendo knows what they are doing this year. I hope.

Wait... there's something wrong with you....
or maybe I am wrong.. did you change your username?
that MJ avatar looks familiar but not the name

How old is Bill Trinnen anyway? He looks pretty young, but at the same time he translated Miyamoto 15 years ago already. You'd think that Nintendo had veteran translators for Miyamoto and wouldn't bet on a person who's what, 25 years old?

Even then, Trinnen doesn't even look like he's 40 yet. I wonder if he drunk some of Sakurai's miracle potion.

all I need is a StarFox with a kick ass campaign and a Battalion Wars inspired multiplayer (no so much with the on foot stuff). Blue Submarine naval combat like Steel-diver with the Gamepad would also be acceptable.

I wonder wouldn't a new Star Tropics just be a light hearted Far Cry/Crysis?

He apparently entered the University of Oregon in 1990, so presumably he's just past 40.

Cheers, got both of them, forgot to mention them. Adelman is pretty interesting to follow, he engages with gamers and developers and champions games.

lol yes, quite a while ago. My name was Nintendo-4life. God I hated that name >_>

Yeah you make a wise decision e_e
haha just kidding :P
didn't notice the change. Actually, you don't post in Nintendo threads like you used to.
Anyway, sounds great (if I'm pronouncing it right) lol

Very true. Even though they've thrown their hat in with EA, they've maintained their ethic and quality of work.

Thanks!

But yeah i've been lurking more than posting recently. But dat hype is getting to me really hard.

Nooooo, don't! That's how BY2K got his cold! D:

lol

He didn't wrap himself in a sandwich, that's why.

Because there are people that really care about people calling a next gen console a next gen console, EA now saying the Wii U is next gen will make people happy.

Even if they don't support it much.

Are you one of them?
I mean...Why would anyone care about EA's opinion in first place? lol

EA is now including the Wii U in their "gen 4" classification.

I am a little confused, where on earth did the "gen 4" naming convention come from. To me, gen 8 make sense; does EA just like to use their own special lingo or is this actually a common term in the industry. Never heard of this [coming?] gen as anything but 8.

So from what I'm gathering here, there have been absolutely no leaks and any proclaimed leakers have been pretty much debunked. Other than what Nintendo has said would be there we have no clue about what else their presentation holds. How the hell do they do it?
