Nintendo Europe releases iDEAME video. Indie devs talk about Wii U/3DS development.

Those "nintendo is really hard to contact" reads more like "nintendo did'nt crawl in the dust offering bags of moneys to us".

Most companies who make such quotes often never had any interest in Nintendo anyway. Some devs already stated that news sites ask them specifically for negative quotes concerning Nintendo.

I was at ideame this year and it was an amazing experience. I applaud Nintendo for doing something like this in Spain and bringing indie dev to talk about their games and how is the downlodable ecosystem in the consoles right now.
.

Edit: Oh and I don't understand this video. I mean, for what kind of people they did it? Gamers? No... Future indies? Don't feel like it...

If you talk about the video, well, is to inform how the event went, if you are talking about the event, it was done for aspiring developers (it costed 20 euros to go so they want only this type of people to go, people that want to leanr about game developing, not just game fans wanting to try some games, infact there were only like 150-200 people assisting and the tickets were sold out) and they made it pretty great. We even showed a video of our future game to some of the indies there and to Nintendo so they could give us feedback, as I say just at the start of my message, it was an amazing experience where we learned a lot.

One of the really good things nintendo has done with the wii u is the indi support. Really liked the look of Anima: Gates of memories

Really want that T-shirt!

Wasn't there just a 30 page thread about how Nintendo does not interact with 3rd parties?
So is this video all bullshit or are they just hiding from select developers like Avalanche Studios?

That thread about Avalanche Studios was selective bullshit. Avalanche also stated that they are now having an easier time contacting Nintendo and that they were hard to contact (but most people in the thread drown this positive fact with the sea of negative comments).

A game where you play as a little girl? Day one!

Me too!

How long do nintendo usually Take from a game gets submitted till its ok;ed for the eShop? Shovelknight is sposed to be done later this year but will I have to wait a few months for nintendo to play the crap out of it and find all the bugs?

I think the only way for Nintendo to get huge western third party support is if they pay upfront.

They might have too in the future.

Off topic but what's this Only on Xbox meme I'm missing? I know you just added this to your avatar!

Anywho, great vid, and I am wondering if that Wii U footage of Projects Cars or not, same with 90's Arcade Racer.

..or lend out key franchises. Nintendo could get a bunch of big games if they just handed over the chance to use a franchise for free.

I know Platinum games really want to make a Star Fox game, but you can't go to every big Western studio and be like "...We want you to develop for us and in exchange you can make our own franchises!"

Just for hype for the Xbox 720 announcement lol.

Is there a full list of devs that participated in iDEAME? Would like to visit some websites and check out the status of their projects.

I'm so glad I pledged for this. I can't wait to play it.

The Delusions of Von Sottendorff and His Squared Mind looks surprisingly good. And I think my girlfriend will approve Spin the bottle. :D

There were already some good eshop games on Wii U: Trine 2, The Cave and Toki Tori 2. And it seems that indie games sell quite good, so I am very optimistic about this part on Wii U in the future.

don't miss runner2 and nano assault.
can't wait to see also the new shin'en games and a couple of other additional games (road redemption and a survival horror)

They all look pretty interesting, are their any release dates or ideas I've around when they'll hit the eShop ?
Possible indie focused Nintendo Direct ? :D

The stuff going on with indies here is what I expected to happen with the vanilla Wii. I am so excited, but I am also hoping that this initiative persists and only gets bigger and better over time.

Anima: Gate of Memories was my personal standout. Loved the visual style in that short alpha clip.

As we knew many non-Spanish gamers didn't know about this (despite being 5th edition), we interviewed iDÉAME creator on event goals, dev/students approach, etc. Hope this more 'international' piece spreads the word around, for I think event's concept is just great. And developers seem to agree:

http://www.gamereactor.es/noticias/...%BFde+qu%E9+va+iD%C9AME+tras+cinco+a%F1os%3F/

"iDÉAME event is not for consumers, neither for industry members. It's for people outside the industry. It's for students and non-professional developers who want to be part of this industry. During two days, we have a lot of worldwide developers to learn from (how to make videogames)".

"We really want to let [young devs] know that Nintendo is very similar to them, because we need creativity and unique ideas to be part of this industry. We don't make TVs, computer or mobile. We depend on ideas".
