Nintendo on a power trip? Former IGN writer Alanah Pearce suspended from Twitch after copyright strike...

It's basically safer to drink gasoline than to stream a Nintendo game nowadays.

Alanah looks like she's just waiting for you to ask her if she could suck your zboob after a good workout.
I like that salt of the earth attitude so i'm rooting for her.

Amouranth looks hardcore trans in this pic, but maybe it's the drag outfit with the cowboy hat that gives this impression... Anyway is this really the girl who is supposed to be the most beautiful girl on twitch ??? I'll take sweaty Alanah over her any day of the week.

When stories like this pop-up it always strikes me the way the copyright owner is always conflated with the copyright enforcer; which often is the broadcaster or some third party who's job it is to police content.

The reality is that if someone has an IP, if they don't care about its general use they'd put it out in the public domain day#1. Conversely if they don't its basically saying this is "ours" and we get to dictate terms as to who gets to use it.

Here's the thing: How this works is pretty obvious when so much content appears on the internet on any given day; you need to hire specialists to police it on your behalf, or rely on the enforcement systems/algorithms provided by the host. Its just way too much work.

Bottom line: Its monumentally unlikely that the actual copyright owner has their fingers on the report button, so blaming them for capricious or unreasonable enforcement is just shifting the blame from where it really should be placed. Not saying this to defend Nintendo, just to point out that unless the ones directly implementing these policies are not held to account for their incompetence, they are going to carry on doing it.

Same deal with games releasing in unfinished broken states and the developer taking the heat for bad publisher decisions in putting it out there... Nothing is going to change until people start placing the blame where the problem actually is.

Off topic, but I wonder if she had plastic surgery recently. Something looks different around her eyes and top of her nose.

Not that it matters, just looks different.
Probably Botox. You have to start young with it and keep up frequently to keep those pesky lines at bay as you age.

I'll never understand why people are obsessed with these women. So utterly subpar in personality, intelligence, and yes even appearance. Just gross charactures of the worst parts of the modern woman.
Parasocial cults whether for good or ill the parasite prospers by making the cult feel good and in return the parasite gets the attention they themselves crave along with making money on top of it if the streamer following is large enough.

Seems rather vampiric in nature. And it's mostly due to lots of thirsty men(some girls too!) that will do anything for even the smallest amount of attention to these popular streamers/influencers they find attractive. But as long as people throw their money at them it'll only continue. I don't see it stopping unless their big moneymakers like Onlyfans or Patreon become regulated.

In the long term I think these kinds of relationships do more harm then good.

As for lacking in personality and appearance I grant you but I think that most of these people making bank are quite intelligent. They found a way to make money in their own way, on their terms. However I imagine they also don't have a lot of time to themselves which is the price they pay. But if you have people like Amouranth that make 1 million a month then they can retire early and live a free lifestyle.

They should pay her for losing money that she only gets because of THEIR game? :messenger_tears_of_joy::messenger_tears_of_joy::messenger_tears_of_joy::messenger_tears_of_joy::messenger_tears_of_joy:

Yes, she only gets money because of their one Zelda game.

In fact her stream is commonly dubbed The Tears of the Kingdom stream.

She's been streaming under this moniker since 2004 and Nintendo has been perfectly fine with her streaming nothing but TOTK content since then .. Until now.

Anyway, we can all breathe a sigh of wild relief that a big corporation can get away with ceasing content that is perfectly legal, without consequence.

Telling the truth is never a dumb thing.

Oh wait I forgot to add the one thing to bring it your level of intelligence …

WTF even is this crap? Dude you have some serious issues if you really hate on people for making content(good or bad) for their audiences while rotting for a multibillion dollar company that doesn't even know you exists.

I'm not saying that Nintendo should fail or that they should just lose revenue, but this excessive prosecution syndrome they have is nuts.

The worst part of this all is that this drone mentality you're showing is exactly what allows countries to be ruled by oligarchies.

This just seems like such an unimportant thing to get worked up about, tbh. Like, who cares?

A former IGN writer who works at Sony, got DMCA’d doing a reaction video on Twitch, which was a reaction to someone else’s gameplay stream?

I’m like fifth generation don’t give a s***

It just shows that Nintendo is up to it's usual tricks, what about all the others that get banned for Nintendo's overzealous tactics, maybe Nintendo would be happy if all media decided not to cover their games, because it is seemingly what they want.

Nintendos pettiness is unrivaled.

I'll never get over them striking a remake to metroid 2 (samus returns) that a fan had made and then 2 years later they have mercury release the game themselves.

I like how Arrogant Sony was a big meme for years but all the Nintendo simps come out of the woodwork if you say Nintendo is arrogant

I honestly don’t see the issue at all like the game is getting tons and tons of positive coverage from every outlet under the sun. Like, They definitely don’t have a problem at all. Lol

*EDIT* NVM...people have images above of her getting crushed

She has...and she has been getting the SHIT punched out of her face for some boxing match she is doing? I caught some info about it on one of her videos but she had a bruised cheek bone and black eye. Looked rough.

Having no need to make a personal attack on her or anyone else going through that situation...

Dumb thing to have happened and am glad it's lifted.

Dozens flock to correct as creator leaves the word 'Still' out of title

Enthusiasts were left stunned today on the popular video game forum "NeoGAF" as an unwitting thread creator left the word "Still" out of a thread title describing Nintendo's renewed push to eradicate content it allegedly does not agree with.

"It was chaos", described one witness to the event. "Everyone knows Nintendo has a history of this, and yet here was this thread without a shred of awareness of the history behind Nintendo's brutality."

But not everyone disagrees with Nintendo's approach. Some instead turned their attention to the recipient of Nintendo's latest exhibition of overprotectiveness, attacking her lack of relevance in her chosen industry and seeing no real loss.

Others had no opinion either way, and wondered why a man would write a mock article without so much as a whisper of a reason to. "I just don't understand it", thought one. "What a colossal waste of time."

What do you think, reader? Let us know in the comment section below, not that it make the blindest bit of difference.

You call me a drone yet you are white knighting for these leeches who use every trick to get you to click or pay them money?
