Meanwhile, EA still reading financial figures, trying to determine if the Switch is worth supporting:
Switch sold through numbers have been released, it's diffidently not selling as fast as ps4.
Good job comparing a 2 in 1 portable to a home only console. In fact, this proves the home only console is doing a great job vs a 2 in 1 portable. Not the other way around.LAUNCH ALLIGNED!
Was PS4 sales sell through? that seems bizarre, companies usually report shipments.
In fact Zhuge took that number from Nintendo Investors Q&A, the way i read it was like "we think 48 mln Switches are sold" as if not even Nintendo is 100% sure.
So a Nintendo Switch is double the value of a regular console?Good job comparing a 2 in 1 portable to a home only console. In fact, this proves the home only console is doing a great job vs a 2 in 1 portable. Not the other way around.
And since you enjoy starting console wars, why don't you compare it to your dear Xbox One?
LAUNCH ALLIGNED!
Not angry friend, your logic sucks though. Going by your example, if the Mercedes costs $49,000 to manufacture and the Toyota costs $10,000, does that STILL validate your point? Or when the Gamecube was making more money than the PS2 despite being grossly outsold by it, was that also more impressive?
Fair enough lol but I still think the Xbox One was more fucked up when it launched.
Yes it validate my point
If a more expensive product manage to sell the same number as the cheaper one than it is deemed as a more sucesfull product
It will be viewed more valuable or enticing product
This isnt me talking this is how every coporation works and evaluate their profit
And im not siding with sony or nintendo here just seeing it objectively for what it is
I don't understand this. Are you saying that the PS4 has a higher profit margin? Or simply being more expensive means it's more successful despite what it costs to manufacture? Is the PS4 a more enticing product despite selling less, not necessarily selling at a higher profit margin... Because it costs more? And that's how corporations evaluate their profit? BY HOW MUCH A THING RETAILS FOR? It's more... Valuable? To whom?

This is you right now.
Generally speaking a more expensive product always sell less than a cheaper one
If it somehow manage to keep track with the cheaper entry then this product will be viewed as more succesfull
Like i said this isnt me speaking its marketing 101
I'm not even going to try to change your mind about this, but just so we're clear, you DO KNOW that the PS4 launched for $399 while the Switch was $299, right?
My point stand as it is
a $400 system doing a good job keeping pace with a $300 system ($200 now if were talking about switch lite)
My point stand as it is
a $400 system doing a good job keeping pace with a $300 system ($200 now if were talking about switch lite)
Look im not trying to dismiss switch sucess but im just trying to tell the bigger picture here
They both can be sucesfull at the same time
But it isn't like this is a monumental difference that truly separates them like your Mercedes/Toyota example and again, you're ignoring the profit margin. And besides, how much did a PS4 cost by the time the Switch came out? The Slim was out by then and you could find it for $199 during that year's black friday. So consumers in 2017 had two choices that were equally priced. The PS4 isn't a PREMIUM product if that's what you're implying.
Of course they're both successful, the PS4 sold over 100 million units and it does not need this kind of mental gymnastics because the Switch is beating it on this metric.
Yea it was 199$ for a day or 2 and sold out.
Switch sold through numbers have been released, it's diffidently not selling as fast as ps4.
That's not the point my friend, the point that the Switch outpacing the PS4 doesn't mean less because the PS4 is more expensive. The PS4 isn't a premium product. They're similarly priced goods that exist in the same market.
It's doesn't mean mean any less, people are just saying that ps4 has the edge in terms of dropping the price and keeping momentum. also in terms of sale through ps4 has the edge easily.
PS4 sold through 53.4 million in 37 1/2 months while Switch is at 48 million in 34 months
PS4 doesn't have the edge in terms of sale through, did you look at the numbers in the OP or what? Do you contest them? You don't need to make up random uneven comparisons, there's a month to month figure in the OP.
The OP is based of shipping numbers not sale through, and aside from that The launch aligned comparison has never been good one. A console like the ps4 and switch with huge demand can easily sell 3-4 million in the first 2 months of launch with out the holidays. ps4 launched during the holidays was sold out every where the whole time, it hardly got a benefit from a holiday boost in 2013. so it makes sense that switch is up it's 3 holidays vs 2 and a launch holiday with stock just enough for launch demand.
The OP is based of shipping numbers for the Switch and sale through for the PS4? Do you have anything to back that up? Are you saying people are making shit up to deceive us?
I have factual numbers. We have sale through numbers 48 million and 53.4 million, it's gonna be impossible for switch to sale 5 million in the next 3 months so clearly ps4 is outpacing in terms of sale through.
You don't need to project and compare 37 1/2 months with 34 months. There's literally a MONTH BY MONTH sales figure in the OP. Switch has consistently tracked ahead. Do you dispute those numbers? If not, then please accept defeat and move on.
If you wanna talk about sales properly you should. I'm just showing the reality the PS4 is clearly outpacing switch, and the chart is not a good comparison because of different launch periods. I never disputed the shipping numbers by the way. if the switch was clearly outpacing the ps4 why is it clear as day that ps4 will be back on top in when you do a comparison in 3 months?
How is it clear as day that the PS4 will be back on top, and more importantly, how can you be confident it will stay there? When you consider all of the 3 months intervals since launch, the PS4 has only tracked ahead in two of them. That alone throws away your narrative about "different launch periods". The Switch is just plain outselling the PS4. It is what it is. Unless you dispute the numbers and want to claim that everything in the OP is full of shit and can back that up, you literally can't win this discussion. You're arguing against cold hard numbers.
NIntendo sold though numbers 48 million and the goal is shipping 1.7 million in the next 3 months. so compare that to ps4 53.4 million sold through and 57.1 million shipped. Since you only understand shipping numbers, Nintendo goal is to ship 54.44 million LTD in the next 3 months thats put them at 37 months each, because the quarter they have clearly over shipped.
That is table is wrong... I explained before. There's a month by month figure in the OP. The Switch has pretty much ALWAYS tracked ahead. Look at it. You don't need to do arbitrary equations, there's literally a month by month comparison. It's side by side, here I'll paste it for you:

Unless you're saying those numbers are false, the Switch is outselling the PS4 from day one.
That is table is wrong... I explained before.
PS4 will be ahead in two month btw.
The numbers in that table are false? Do you have anything to back that up?
Yeap official numbers lolThe numbers in that table are false? Do you have anything to back that up?
First the table uses Sony sold thought vs Switch shipment.
Do you have any evidence for that? The rest of your post I honestly don't care about because why the fuck would you want to compare different time periods when you can compare the exact period. Can you provide anything that backs up the claim the numbers are comparing sold through and shipments?
You wanna discuss sales and you don't even know how to look them up?
Point me in the general direction of anything that suggests that table is entirely false. I'm not asking for much.
As you can see by the chart switch and ps4 are going back and fourth because of the different launch periods.
Ok, now you're getting somewhere. But tell me, in that tweet it says "cumulative global shipment chart". You guys are arguing that the table in the OP is comparing shipment with sell through. Well, which one is it?
In that chart it's comparing shipments. The OP chart is just false, it's comparing ps4 sell through numbers to switch shipping.
Shipping numbers will always be higher then sell through. I don't think i have to explain this.
There is no way to compare the exactly same period lol Switch shipment data are month 1, 4, 7...31, 34... Sony shipment data are month 2, 5, 8...32, 35... it will never be the same period.Do you have any evidence for that? The rest of your post I honestly don't care about because why the fuck would you want to compare different time periods when you can compare the exact period. Can you provide anything that backs up the claim the numbers are comparing sold through and shipments?
You are really dumb because there is no way to compare the exactly same period lol
BTW my evidences are the official numbers released by Sony and Nintendo.
IT IS PUBLIC!!!
I meant time period friend, I meant the space of months since launch. Like month by month comparison as in the OP, which you claim it's false and it's okay. Just calm down brother, we can get through this together. Since we're both brazilians, let's be ethnically conscious and not fight. Now, my frustration comes from the fact that despite your "evidence being public", you have failed to produce a single link. Let me help you understand what I mean with an example. In that chart it says that in its second anniversary, the Switch had sold 34.74 million units and the PS4 was a rocking a 30.2 million figure. You're saying that it's shipment for the first and sell through for the second. I want to believe in you. Give me one link that confirms either of those numbers are wrong.
