Nintendo Switch Preorders at BestBuy.com

weird, my order went through. Doesn't BB put a hold on the funds on your card to check if you have enough, and if not it cancels the order?

Is it bad that I'm happy I was able to preorder from two sources? Amazon and Best Buy.

It ups my chances to receive one early, lol. One of the consoles is for my little brother before anyone gets on me for having two orders.

Still available on my screen. Might be a region thing.

Possibly. It shows it as available but attempting to add to cart fails to work, but I could add the regular Gray. I may just buy the Gray and get the colored joycons and make that the gift.

OP, seriously, thanks again for posting this. I am turning 30 on March 5 and playing a new Nintendo system is exactly how I wanted to usher in a new decade. I think I'm going to have a 1 2 Switch Pre-game party the night before.

Do you guys think scalping will be an issue with these launch units?

I think Nintendo has a good handle on production here (for a change). I'd already expect a good chunk of current pre-orders to be resellers, and there's been a fair bit of opportunity for everyone who actually wants one to pre-order with no hassle. I think two weeks of scarcity tops is a safe assumption (if stores aren't overflowing with them at launch), resellers are going to be disappointed if they can't move them quickly.

Now it's switched to "Coming Soon" again.

Just to note... in my chat with a Service Rep about second order. The rep placed me on hold while checking and wrote "Unless there is an issue with the credit card, the order(s) shouldn't get cancelled."

Agreed. I'm planning on a small markup on launch day. THis is uaually how I do it with popular items: buy 2, use small profit from 1 to get the other at a discount. Historically has worked well for me.

I wouldn't be wanting to hold more than one of these though, it won't be scarce for that long as you note.

Wonder how legit this is? Anyone preordered here before? I readd bad things about bestbuy.com online preordering and it is a little shady that they are the only ones reopening them. I already have one from my local gamestop but was wondering for a friend.

They sent be my Wii U preorder a week late, So I don't like using them anymore.

Was good enough to order a switch for my bro-in-law today, though.

So I currently have one preorder at BestBuy that I made just now, and one preorder at Gamestop that I made earlier.

Gamestop charges an extra $15 for release day delivery, so I'd much prefer BestBuy. However, I seem to recall instances of BestBuy cancelling preorders for other consoles and items in the past.

Should I keep both preorders to be safe? How long can I wait to cancel the Gamestop preorder? And another wrinkle: there a decent chance I won't have $600+ in my checking account at whatever time they decide to charge my card, and I'd hate to somehow lose both preorders as a result.

I was telling myself I would wait since it would be collecting dust for a while after Zelda but who am I kidding? I NEED ZELDA IN MY VEINS ASAP!!!!!

Preordered a grey one.

Considering it says March 3rd delivery, I'm going to say yes.

What does that imply specifically? Is it likely that these units are cancelled preorders that are made available again, or does best buy not reintroduce cancelled items in batches like this? The alternative is that Nintendo has promised extra units at launch, which we would have heard about more I think, so that doesn't seem likely to me.

fuck you op for doing this lmao. i was gonna wait until the fall but this thread + $30 certificate expiring in 7 days made me pull the trigger

thanks again op

The gray's been up for a while. Are we sure the demand for this console is really all that it's been chalked up to be?

Do people usually make a lot of money selling launch consoles? Obviously there are Wii like exceptions, but what amount are scalpers looking to get for it?

It's been up for an hour or so and, unlike Amazon, you actually have to pay for it up front. It's going to be slower to sell out.
