Nintendo switch UK price £279.99

I was boasting that ShopTo have never let me down and then they cancelled my BOTW order, even though it had already been processed. On the plus side, it's looking like the Switch launch is doing big business if these normally solid retailers are getting in a flap.

Now why would they do that? You have me worried. Was it just the normal version, Special edition?

Also did you get the dispatch email already (with tracking number) before they cancelled? If so, that kinda sucks.
 
That delivery time looks like a Royal Mail dispatch worked out based on the original dispatch date. As long as the post usually gets to you in a normal time frame, I bet it's there before the weekend.

I tried to investigate the cable/charger situation a week ago and came away totally confused with what might or might not be suitable. I'm leaving it until after release to try and get a cable and wall charger that will safely power the Switch without damaging it.
 
Just got a typical copy paste response from the Nintendo Store which doesn't even add up to the situation right now -

We can confirm that all pre-orders from our Store, will be dispatched before their announced release date. You should then expect delivery to be completed on or before this same date.

Confirmation of the dispatch of your goods, will be added to your order as and when they are available. This is normally done a few days before your order is dispatched, with an email sent to confirm when your order is on it’s way.

We will debit you for your pre-order a few days before dispatch, to ensure that we are able to secure your order. Therefore, it is strongly recommend that you ensure funds are made available in your chosen payment method, as soon as possible, to avoid any issues or delays with your order.

Talking about processing a few days before when the working day is now over so it's not possible for it to be a few days before.

Seriously hope there's no processing issues tomorrow :(

It's normal for amazon to dispatch some peoples pre-orders a few days before release as for some customers it will take longer to reach them.
hence why depending on your address your dispatch date with amazon is either the 1st or 2nd.
They have already started sending some peoples orders out.

No way, argos is always pretty reliable and on time for most things.

Nintendo UK store has always been dodgy for me because they send things out with YODEL because of my location.
Add that to the fact they are being ultra slow/strict with sending out peoples switches and i'm so glad i didn't use them this time.
Last thing i want is a YODEL driver with my package on a friday, they will just stop delivering early and head to the pub.

Amazon order is with a free trial of prime so there is no way it will come late thankfully.
 
I only ordered from the Nintendo store because at the time everywhere else had sold out. Then I'd ordered and other places got them back in stock. I didn't cancel my Nintendo order in favour of Amazon on the promise of people in this thread that told me Nintendo were reliable. Please don't let me down, GAF.
 
So the "Official Switch Travel Case" from Big Ben has now moved to a 31.03.17 release date on shopto. I've prepaid for my order now it's suddenly jumped to a month later after the device is released which is total crap.

The Zelda themed case is the same for anyone who's preordered that.
 
Picked up part one of my Very order (Paper Mario Color Splash).

Not looking forward to going back to the Tesco I collected it from for part two. The worker there just seemed grumpy. Literally just shoved the parcel into my hands at the end.

EDIT: My experience with the Nintendo Store has usually been good, though they are also the one store I've returned a product. Send me two Amiibo in a box that literally required them to be squeezed in. They came massively crushed. They did replace them, only to send them back in the same box. They were lucky they weren't crushed again.
 
Right, I havent used GAME in a couple of years, todays experience means i'll likely keep up that tradition now.

Order gets cancelled due to "Fraud", On hold for close to an hour, tweet them, send DM to them, no replies, but they reply to people who tweeted after me. #FUCKGAME
 
So since shopto canceled my Zelda my other choice is instore pickup at smyths on Friday . My closest one is 30 minutes away. Do you think Tesco will be stocking the game for the same price on there website? We have a big Tesco extra that I could go to before work on Friday at like 7am

Hey Joe, quick question. How quickly after you cancelled your Switch order, did your copy of Zelda ship? By your posts, it looks like it was around 6 minutes?

The only reason I ask is that my copy of Zelda still hasn't shipped yet. What I'm wondering is maybe they're planning on bundling my copy in with my Switch order, in one package.

Perhaps because you cancelled your Switch order, Zelda defaulted to standard delivery and resulted in your new (shitty) estimate.

My Mario 'M' one from GAME got delayed. I'd noticed earlier this week that they'd updated the date as next week. Today GAME sent me an email saying "before mid-march".

Doesn't look good. Good job I'm not in a rush for a case.

Yeah, it's a real bummer. I've repreordered my case from Zavvi as they're still saying Friday but if it's delayed I'll just cancel that and stick with shopto.

I could really use a case otherwise the thing can't really be taken out the house for a month. That said it feels pointless to buy a temp one, may as well just wait until the one I want is in stock.

Definitely not my first choice but I'll take any deal and theirs was the best.

It was like an hour (I had to walk back from GAME. I cancelled it there when I confirmed my preorder there guaranteed me one midnight tomorrow night)

However, I put most things in my order separately in four different orders in case things went squirly. The Switch. The Carry Case & Zelda. Pro Controller. Amiibo. The Carry Case shipped yesterday but Zelda didn't.

It could have been that's the plan. However, standard delivery was for everyone. My girlfriend only ordered Zelda and got her dispatch notice soon after I did with the same estimate.

I ended up buying a separate screen protector, which I got charged for yesterday. Besides that I'll just re-purpose something I've already got if I take it somewhere. I'm not massively worried as I haven't really broken anything in a long long time.

I doubt I'll take it out with me much anyway, besides to show a few friends it. :P

This has happened to a lot of people so your not alone.
If i were you i'd head to your local GAME because i know that due to all the online orders going wrong some stores have been allocated more stock.
My local GAME is now saying they have some extra available consoles but they are putting them in expensive bundles.
Might be worth a trip down to ask.

My PSVR shipped from Amazon UK at 23:00 and I got in next day.

Quick caveat - I have Prime and live within an Amazon Now area. I live 30 odd miles from one of their main distribution centres.

Thanks for getting back to me on that. Interesting. I think that actually adds more credence to my theory.

Question for the topic - Has anyone here, who ordered a Switch and a copy of Zelda (standard with TShirt) from the Nintendo UK store, had a dispatch confirmation for Zelda alone? Or is your copy of Zelda still 'Awaiting Dispatch'?

I theorise that if you ordered both of these (together in one order, or in two separate orders like me and Joe) they'll actually be posted together in one package (hopefully DPD).

I think that maybe Joe, because you cancelled your Switch, it defaulted to standard delivery. Your GF also only ordered Zelda, and it too has dispatched with the same estimate.
 
Gameseek are saying they'll send emails between 8pm and 11pm tonight for the lucky few - and if there's no more than 29 units that really is a few!

More chance winning eighty quid on the lottery.
 
So i called my local Tesco and they said they have Zelda in now, but cant sell it me. He said if i go early Friday shouldnt be an issue getting Zelda £48

So I got a similar dispatch email from Nintendo UK for Zelda, saying Mon - Tue, via royal mail. I still have a separate order pending for my switch that is awaiting stock pick (also haven't been charged for that).
